"You promised me you'd always smile. But what am I looking at now?"

The deg! A voice suddenly sounded from behind his body. Anggi quickly wiped her tears and turned her back to look at a man who was the cause of her current cries.

"Rey...."

Anggi was transfixed to see Reynald who was staring at him with sharp eyes. The man slowly walked towards her.

Reynald stopped right in front of him. With such a close distance between them, Anggi could smell the fragrant perfume from Reynald's body. The same smell 5 years ago. It was a fragrance that gave off many explosions of memories in his brain.

"Why are you crying? Shouldn't you always smile like I saw 5 years ago?" Reynald said slowly.

"Stop crying. Did you forget your promise?"

"You said you'd always smile about living your life without me by your side. You'll always smile in front of me". Reynald stared fixedly at Anggi.

Anggi covered the pushy smile on his lips.

"I smile in front of you, because I just want you to calm down to see me in good shape". Sahut Anggi while wiping his wet cheeks.

Anggi took a step back from Reynald. He turned his head around staring at the glittering night of the Capital City from a height.

Reynald stepped standing right next to Anggi following Anggi throwing as far as the eye could see. There was only silence between them. The mouth was tightly locked but the mind was wildly running into all corners.

"How are you?" Anggi finally opened his voice.

"As you can see. I'm doing fine". Reynald was still looking ahead.

Anggi nodded thinly. "Thank God. I know you must be okay with your little family, Rey".

Reynald turned to Anggi. "How can you be so sure?".

Anggi raised his shoulders with a smile etched on his lips. "I'm just guessing".

"Your wife is very beautiful and you have been blessed with a princess. I'm sure your daughter is as charming as both of her parents". Anggi looked at Reynald with shady eyes.

"Not everything you see from the outside is perfect, the inside is perfect". Reynald said ambiguously.

"That applies to me, Rey" murmured Anggi but still caught by Reynald's sense of hearing.

Reynald then changed the position of his body facing Anggi with the side of his body leaning against the rooftop barrier. He enjoyed the face of Anggi who was highlighted by a yellowish dim light coming from the rooftop lamp.

He smiled when he saw that the long black and jet-black hair had decomposed beautifully. The hair that he always stroked soft 5 years ago, Reynald then looked into Anggi's eyes with natural lashes. Her lips were always a piece of opium for her.

He then chuckled slowly to curse himself while shaking his head.

Anggi suddenly turned to the side looking at Reynald who suddenly laughed faintly. The girl frowned confusedly.

"Is there anything funny?". Ask Anggi.

Reynald smiled at Anggi and nodded his head. "Yes. There's hehehe"

"What's so funny?"

"me". Answer Reynald.

"You?"

Reynald nodded. "I just feel funny with my fate hehe"

Anggi looked at Reynald still frowning and waited for the man to continue.

"You know? I had intended not to meet you. I knew you were coming to Jakarta, but I was determined not to see you even if I wanted to".

"I just.... Don't want to disturb your life in the present"

Reynald turned a glance at Anggi and turned back to throw his gaze far ahead.

"But it turns out the universe is always joking with me. When I was adamant about not wanting to be present in your life at this time, but the truth is that I met you accidentally and even more surprisingly I had to hear if you already have a fiance".

Anggi digested all of Reynald's words. The girl sighed softly. His heart... I don't know what words are right to describe the feelings that are in his heart right now.

"I hated myself after I let you go. But I think my decision at that time was right, right? I let you fly free and the proof is that you achieved your dream and got someone better than me". Reynald gave a warm smile staring at Anggi with an indecipherable look in his eyes.

Anggi inhales as much air as possible and exhales it slowly.

"I still have no regrets even though this is the end for both of us. You did leave me for granted, but I understood your reason and situation back then. I have no regrets, Rey. Because loving you is my choice".

Anggi looked at Reynald with teary eyes. The gazes of the two are adrift with each other as if there are magnets that attract each other from the look of the eyes of both.

Reynald commented a warm smile on Anggi. It felt like the man was hugging back Anggi's body. He breathed in the scent of his body that he always missed.

"Come tomorrow to my penthouse, I've invited your fiancee to come eat together there before she returns home to Abu Dhabi".

"I'll introduce you to Jessy, my daughter". Reynald stared fixedly at Anggi.
