Chapter 48

The next day right in Reynald's study, the man couldn't concentrate at all. He could only stare blankly at the pile of files strewn across his desk.

The more he tries to focus, the more his mind runs into all the flashbacks of his life over the past 10 months. There are so many other 'let' and 'let' words that appear in his brain. But like rice had become porridge, he could not go back to the beginning of the time Clara disappeared. Now he can only face reality and think of the best way for all.

"Aarrrgggghhhhh!". Reynald threw the entire file on the floor just like that.

His mind was so upset. Moreover, Anggi had contacted him since last night but Reynald chose to ignore the girl. He was still unable to behave normally in front of his innocent lover. And also Reynald felt the situation was unfair for Anggi.

"Jeez Reynald!".

Renata who had just entered Reynald's room was shocked to see a lot of papers strewn across the floor. He turned to look at his cousin who anyone could notice that the man looked upset.

"Why are you like this? Are you fighting Anggi?". Renata asked as he walked over to Reynald who was still sitting behind his desk.

Reynals shook his head slowly.

"What's the problem then?".

Reynald remained silent and cupped his hands to cover his face until he heard only a rough sigh repeatedly.

"What's the matter, Rey?". Renata repeated the question.

"You don't want to tell me?".

Reynald then looked at Renata with his eyes reddened due to the many emotional turmoil that the man was feeling.

"I'm confused..

"Buddy in what way?". Renata frowned.

Reynald sighed and leaned his back against the bench. The man looked at Renata seriously.

"Claras...." Reynald said slowly.

Renata glared in surprise. "Why do you name a woman you've even forgotten?".

"He's back, Renata. Clara has returned..."

"WHAT?! You're not kidding, are you?!".

Reynald shook his head. "What am I kidding for now? Clara is back. He's meeting me".

Renata was silent for a moment trying to control his surprise. He looked at Reynald sharply.

"Then what if he comes back? What does that have to do with you? Are you faltering?".

"Remember Rey.. You're now dating Anggi. A good-natured innocent girl like her doesn't deserve to leave you alone because of your past coming back". Renata reminded Reynald.

"If only it could be so simple. I won't be dizzy like now". Reynald said.

"The situation isn't easy, Ren".

Renata frowned confusedly. What's not easy? His cousin just ignore the whereabouts of Clara, it's all right! Think Renata.

"You're still in love with him so you're dizzy? Didn't he? Then all this time you've been dating Anggi just messing around? That so?!". Renata Cecar.

Reynald hit the table hard. "Me and Clara have a baby you know! It's not easy for me damn it!". Reynald.

Renata gaped and glared in surprise at Reynald's words. His mind just stopped.

"Clara came to my penthouse on the night of my birthday. He came with a baby girl and said it was my son". Reynald.

"She explained the whole reason why she left me just like that ten months ago, Ren". Reynald looked at Renata who was still silent.

Renata blinked her eyes trying to think clearly.

"Oh God. Wait for.. Waita minute.."

"Aah This is really crazy. No. gabe.. Wait for.. I have to call Andre here. You wait a minute". Renata fumbled as she stepped out of Reynald's room.

Reynald was just speechless looking at Renata who just left his room to call Andre. Reynald exhaled slowly. Yep. It is better that those closest to him know so that he does not face it alone. Reynald was monologuing with himself.

Before long the door of his room opened and saw Andre with Renata stepping in.

"Clara's back?"

"You have kids?".

Andre just bombarded with a few questions that Reynald nodded.

Andre rubbed his face slowly. "Have you confirmed that it's your son?". Ask Andre.

"I've done a DNA test and the results are 99.9% compatible with me". Reynald.

Renata gaped and scratched his head which was not itchy at all. He was confused by the situation his cousin was facing.

"Did you do it yesterday when you said you couldn't come to the office?". Asked Andre who was immediately nodded by Reynald.

"Are you sure the results bro? I mean, I'm afraid the results are manipulated you know".

Reynald looked at Andre closely. "I'm not stupid. I did it in the hospital that my company became the biggest donor there. They will get into big trouble if they dare to trick me".

"And you know Mike very well, don't you? He was a man who kept his vows as a doctor and never let me down. You know very well about it".

Andre nodded his head. "Oh you did that test with Mike apparently. Then I'm not worried".

The three then fell silent for a moment busy with their respective thoughts.

"Then you marry Clara". Said Andre straightforwardly breaking the silence inside the cold office piercing room.

"Ndre!". Renata was shocked and protested with Andre's remarks.

Andre looked at Renata. "Why? Didn't I say?".

"You don't want her to have to marry Clara. There are children among them who need legal status before the laws of this country". Andre said as he glanced at Reynald.

"We can think of another way. It doesn't have to be like that! I don't agree!". Renata.

"You can't be naive, Ren. If Clara's situation came back without bringing a child, then it was simple. But here we need to think of the kindness to Reynald's son!". Andre Sahut.

"What about Anggi? You can't ignore the girl's existence. He's like my own brother. I don't want her to be treated unfairly because of this situation!".

Andre rubbed his face confused. The man glanced at the silent Reynald staring blankly at the window of his office.

"Have you fucked that girl?". Andre told Reynald.

"No. I take great care of him". Reynald said in a sad tone.

"You hear that? The girl was not at a disadvantage if she had to part with Reynald. A broken heart may be in nature for a while but I'm sure the girl will be happy afterwards rather than having to hang on with a jerk like her". Andre said to Reynald.

"I don't agree. This remains unfair to Anggi!".

"You love him, don't you? Tell me!". Urge Renata on Reynald.

Reynald got out of his chair and stepped closer to his office window. He put both hands in his pants pocket while looking far ahead.

"of course. I'm starting to love Anggi. I'm comfortable with him..." Said Reynald while reviewing a smile when remembering the sweet face of his innocent lover.

"Then you marry them both!". Said Andre suddenly.

Renata hit Andre on the shoulder so hard that the man complained. "You're crazy huh?!". Shouted Renata glaring at Andre.

"What else should we be like?! The whereabouts of Clara and her son can't be ignored just like you know! On the other hand, Reynald had already begun to love his new lover. So marrying them both is the best thing!". Andre.

"No!". Renata strongly rejected Andre's proposal.

Reynald, who had a problem, was silent to hear the dispute between his cousin and his best friend as his gaze glared at all corners of the multi-storey buildings around his office building.
