Chapter 19

"Based on this data in quarter III, the company's turnover rose by 75%. In my opinion, our finances are at a safe limit if we want to open a new branch in Malaysia. But back again all the final decisions are on you as CEO, Mr. Reynald". Said a Finance Director.

All eyes were on Reynald, awaiting the man's decision. Reynald is currently holding regular meetings with the ranks of C-Level or commonly called the board of directors such as Director of Finance, Director of Operations and so on.

"Sir...? How about...?". The Finance Director tried to interrupt Reynald who had been daydreaming.

Renata, who had been standing near the projector, approached Reynald and patted him on the shoulder.

Reynald looked up at Renata who was giving the code through his eyes. The man then cleared his throat dispelling the awkwardness.

"Ehem.. Well then I check the latest report first. Thank you for all of your hard work. Let's end the meeting today". Reynald said as he stared one by one the board of directors.

Reynald then got up from his seat and immediately stepped out of the meeting room to head to his study.

"Rey.. Waitme!". Said Renata who immediately followed Reynald.

"Why didn't you focus on leading the meeting? Is there a problem?". Ask Renata.

Reynald raised his shoulders. "There's no problem".

"Are you thinking about Clara?".

"No". Reynald answered briefly.

Renata frowned. If there is no problem and do not think about his lover who disappeared, then what is the thing that can make Reynald daydream in the middle of a meeting?

"Then what?". Tanya Rsnata.

Plaque!

"You're so scared!". Reynald said as he touched the forehead of his cousin who wanted to know.

"Damn you! That hurts!". Renata Umpat.

"Don't exaggerate. I flicked it slowly. Maybe your skin is too thin". Reynald.

Reynald immediately entered his room but was still followed by Renata. The woman did not turn into her own room.

"Hey! Why are you following me into my room! Go there work!". Remove Reynald.

Renata ignored Reynald's words and instead sat down on the sofa.

"It's 3pm. All your schedules for today are complete. I can relax".

"Then you go home!". Reynald sat across from Renata.

Renata was upset. "Tell me first what's wrong with you?".

"Aishh you are.. I told you there was nothing! I just thought about that pathetic girl". Reynald.

Renata frowned not understanding. "Dear girl? You mean your student?". Ask Renata.

Reynald nodded.

"What's wrong with him to take your mind off?".

"I think she really is a pathetic girl...."Reynald said slowly.

"You speak clearly!". Grouser Renata.

The Flashback

"Where's your home address?". Reynald asked when he and Anggi were in the car.

"That's.. Mm-mm...." Anggi hesitated to answer.

"Where?". Ask Reynald again.

"Di's.... A tulodong".

"Oh yeah? Good means it's very close to where we are now". Reynald said as he turned on the car.

Reynald stopped the car right in front of a 2-story American Classic-style mansion with a spacious courtyard. Reynald looked at the house and frowned as if he remembered something uncertain.

"Is this your home?". Reynald asked, looking at Anggi.

Anggi who looks nervous can only nod slowly.

Reynald then opened the seatbelt and went down to approach the two security who from earlier looked at his car that stopped in front of the fence.

Anggi then rushed down from the car and the two security were surprised when they saw who the woman who came in the middle of the night to the house they were guarding.

"Non Anggi.." Said a security man.

"May I come in, sir?". Ask Anggi.

The two security men looked at each other and stared awkwardly at Reynald and Anggi.

"Sorry Non.. Not me sassy but..." Security was elbowing his friend who chose to remain silent as if asking for help.

Anggi sighed softly and smiled wryly.

"alright.. No need to say. I already understand. Then excuse me". Said Anggi who immediately turned the body.

Reynald immediately restrained Anggi's arm and stared at the two security men before him.

"Isn't this her parents' house? Why can't he go into his own house?". Ask Reynald astonished.

"That's.. Father's orders. I just obeyed his orders.. Sorry Non Anggi". Say security while bowing your head with a regretful look.

"But...."

"It's okay. Let's just go". Anggi cut Reynald's speech.

Reynald turned to Anggi. "Where are you going in the middle of the night?".

Anggi smile. "You just go home. There's a security gaffer here who's waiting for me to take an online taxi".

"Another online taxi! Don't you get tired of asking me to debate that!". It was Reynald's grouse that immediately pulled Anggi into the car.

"Quick tell me where your address is other than your parents' house!". Reynald grasped the steering wheel with both of his hands.

"You take me back to my penthouse.." Reynald

Anggi shook his head and quickly He mentioned an address that was quite far from their current location.

30 Minutes later.....

"You live in a tenement like this?". Tanya Reynald combed a tiny house in a housing estate that turned out to be close to Tribusiness University, where Anggi studied.

"Yes... This is my house.. It's small, but it's the most comfortable place for me". Anggi said slowly.

Reynald looked at the girl next to him with a million questions in mind but he took it out when he saw the look of the girl who looked sad.

Flashback Off

Renata sighed after listening to Reynald's story about the events at the club until the drama drove the girl to her house.

"Then what do you think of him?". Ask Renata.

Reynald shrugged his shoulders indifferently. "His life intrigued me. Who her? Why are her parents so? What is he really covering up? That's how it looks like..."

"If you're curious, you should ask Andre to find out through your hired detective". Renata's Advice.

"Should it be like that?". Reynald's question wasn't sure.

"You're curious about the girl. Then just do it!".
