Rise From Despair

I got better after taking the medicine. Is correct.. Maybe it's just because I'm exhausted and too many thoughts right now that make my body drop like this.

I haven't been to work for two days. Just sleeping on the bed. My body is really weak.

I stared at the open door of the room, Mom being followed by someone behind her. Alex.. It was Alex who came.

"Hi Ra, how's it going?" ask Alex

I smiled weakly "Pretty good, thank you for bothering to come visit"

Alek kept the flowers and fruit parcels he carried on the nightstand, and he sat by the bed. Right next to me who was sitting leaning with her legs together.

"No problem, I was just visiting my friend. Aye right?" alex asked, as if he needed approval with the word friend he said to me.

I just nodded, yes, we are friends. Just friends! Not more.

"Emmm. Ra, I have something to talk about"

Again I saw Alex's doubtful face as he spoke that way. What does he want to talk about? I always worried about myself with that sentence, especially with Alex's doubtful face. It makes me even more anxious about what Alex wants to talk about.

"Ohh.. All right, Mom's out for a second now" said Mom suddenly, as she was just sitting quietly on the couch. Maybe you understand the situation, Alex is trying to talk to me.

Alex turned to Mom and slightly nodded respectfully "Thank you, Mom"

I still feel surprised until now, why Alex can be that easy to call Father and Mother with that designation. While Ganesh used to be, can only call them Om and Auntie. Alex can also be that familiar with them, very different when Mom and Dad are dealing with Ganesh. It looked awkward and even for chatting, could not relax. Relax while they were chatting with Alex.

I just kept quiet to hear Alex's long words. Maybe it's true what Alex said. I must rise from this fall. I should be able to look at the long-term future, and keep moving forward without looking back. Where the painful past is.

"You can Ra, you can" Alex grabbed my hand and held it. He looked me in the eye tightly, for a few seconds our eyes only looked at each other. I could see the sincerity behind Alex's eyes.

I nodded slowly, for some reason my heart suddenly thumped so hard it made me nervous and immediately let go of our gaze.

"Yes Lex, I'll try. Thank you for giving me so much encouragement and advice"

Alex smiled happily, he looked satisfied with my reply it was "Good. It is time to rise up Ra, there is no need to constantly be in this slump"

I nodded with a smile. Yep.. It's true what Alex said. It is time for me to return to living a better life, no longer in this slump.

"Thank you Lex"

Because of Alex, I'm starting to realize that my life isn't about love. I need to get better from now on. Let what has passed, let it pass. It's my choice and I have to accept it. Let Ganesh and Tyas be happy. They will be happy someday. There is no Our Barrier Fortress among them, so there is no reason for them not to be united.

Three days at home was pretty boring. Today I went back to work with a new spirit. Alex's words yesterday really motivated me to get better. Passion to work and focus only on the future. Let the past be only a part of us as a memory that I will always keep in memory.

Working with a new spirit really made my work today quite smooth. No more lazy drama of working or not focusing on today's work.

I picked up the phone that was located next to the laptop. Open the message that came into my phone.

Alex

Ra, let's have lunch together. I'm the one who's buying

A message from Alex with an emoticon grinned at the end of his sentence. I smiled seeing that, immediately I replied to a message from Alex. It's lunchtime now. My stomach also began to discount to be immediately fed.

Yeah, I'm in the lobby now.

Send..

The message was sent and read by Alex. I put the phone in a sling bag, and pulled it out of the room. Walk up to the elevator and stop at the office lobby.

Waiting for Alex who has not arrived on the sofa waiting in the office lobby. Soon enough, a special elevator for some of the important people in the company opened. Alex showed up there and walked over quickly to get to me.

Alex reached out his hand to me "Come on Miss, we fill this already rumbling stomach"

I laughed at Alex's behavior, he was too humorous for a boss of a company owner. I finally grabbed her hand and stood up from sitting down.

We walked out hand in hand.
