My Lovely Cousin's

My Lovely Cousin's
Chapter 33: The Bitter Reality

In the morning Zara was getting ready to leave for campus, as well as Ran who was about to go to the office. The two of them were compactly tidying up their appearance in front of Zara's room mirror. Occasionally the girl glanced at Ran who was about to put up his tie. Before long Zara turned around and took the initiative to pair a tie for the man.

"Let me help!" said Zara while grabbing Ran's tie.

The man smiled and let Zara wrap her tie around the collar of the shirt she was wearing. Seemed a difference in their height, so Zara had to tiptoe. Ran wrapped his hands around the girl's waist. Zara was embarrassed. "Sister, what are you doing?" ask Zara embarrassedly.

Ran chuckled as he raised the girl's chin to look at her, shyly looking at the handsome man before her. Ran looked at the girl fixedly, still a pale look on his face. Slowly Ran rubbed the smooth white face.

"Are you still sick?" ask Ran. Zara shook her head steadily. "really?" Zara nodded.

"But you still look pale." now Ran draped Zara's hair into her ear.

"I'm fine, brother, don't worry" said Zara.

"alright. You take care of your health when you're in college. Don't push yourself too hard if you can't. Understood?" said Ran.

"Sure." replied Zara with a smile.

They headed for the car and then left the house. That morning they were as usual, Ran no longer felt such a heavy burden due to Zara's presence. While Zara has forgiven Ran completely and hopes that their relationship will no longer stretch.

On the sudden trip Zara held onto her chest, her feelings started to feel bad. His chest tightened a little and his heart pounding started to get irregular. His breathing was almost uncontrollable but a moment later he began to calm the feeling of his neck.

I don't know why lately he often feels a sudden bad feeling. Sometimes after feeling that he suddenly remembered his mother. Well, his mother who had been gone for over two months with no news. Zara glanced at Ran who was focused on driving, because Ran happened to be with her so the girl decided to tell the man about the strange feeling that has recently attacked him.

"Sister." call him soft.

"Yes?" answered Ran without taking his eyes off the road.

"I feel bad" said Zara.

"Why? Are you still sick?" Ran was a little anxious.

"No. That's not. My feelings are often like this, I suddenly feel bad. My chest is a little tight and my heart is pounding abnormally. Then after that I always thought of my mother." explained Zara.

Ran was surprised at the girl's last sentence. For a moment he thought, did Zara feel the marks? Because it is lately the condition of Tamara that he knows is deteriorating, even very bad. Yesterday Aunt Yumna told me that Tamara could no longer get up from her bed and that she was unconscious.

Instantly Ran felt guilty to the girl in his village for not telling about her mother's condition. But he had a reason not to tell it, he did not want Zara to grieve and lose her spirit.

"Sister? Are you listening to me?" zara's voice broke Ran's daydream.

"Ah, yes. Of course, Chibi-chan." said Ran nervously. He took a deep breath and continued. "Do you miss your aunt?" Zara nodded with a wry smile.

"If I have free time then we will go visit him. Wanna?" Ran tries to comfort the girl and cover up the truth.

...

After he finished delivering Zara to campus, the man immediately shot into his office. When the man arrived, he entered his room. Before long his phone rang signaling an incoming call. When he looked at the screen that revealed the name of Aunt Yumna immediately his feelings began to rumble. In his heart hope that this time is not the sad news that will be heard. Ran picked up the phone and heard a sobbing sound from aunt Yumna. His heart started pounding, but he still hoped it was not news of grief.

"Auntie, what's wrong?" tanya Ran tried to calm down.

"You bring Zara here immediately! Hix.. Hix.. Because it's.. Her mother is gone.. Hix.. Hicks.."

Yumna's aunt's words were like a spear stuck right in the man's heart. What he was worried about happened. Ran took a deep breath while calming himself. "Alright aunt." replied Ran briefly.

Slowly Ran kept his phone and rubbed his face rough. A feeling of sadness mixed with resentment burst into his niche. She is sad that her aunt is gone, and she is also upset that she cannot be a good sister to Zara. If the girl knew that all this time she had been hiding her mother's condition, then surely the girl would be very angry with her plus Tamara was gone.

What did he have to say to that poor girl? Even 3 years old it feels like the girl's father is coming home and now it's her mother's turn. Ran felt that if this happened to him then he would be very fragile. What about Zara, who is already fragile?

As Ran brushed off his thoughts, he was sure that his existence would shake off Zara's grief. Immediately he moved out of the room to meet Surya.

"I'm handing you a week of company! Aunt Tamara died, and I had to go." Ran said flatly and quickly left the place.

After arriving in front of the Zara campus for the second time, Ran got out of the car while showing a calm attitude. An hour later, he waited for the girl to be finished from her college eyes. He deliberately did that so that Zara did not panic and also so as not to happen things that he did not want.

A few moments passed and finally caught the figure of Zara who walked with a sweet smile adorning her face. The girl's smile grew even more when she saw Ran standing waiting for her. Zara ran over to her cousin and lover.

"Sister. Why pick me up?" ask Zara. The smile made Ran heartless, he could make sure if the girl knew the sad news of his mother's departure then the smile would disappear.

Ran holds Zara's hand and pulls her into the car. After they sat down perfectly, the man took a breath and delivered everything. "Zara, aunt has.. Died." said Ran a little stammered.

Sure enough Ran's guess, the girl's smile gradually disappeared and was replaced with a look of disbelief and sadness because she had lost. Hearing Ran's words made Zara slowly catch her breath and her tears soon followed. Ran hurriedly clutched the girl.

"I'm sorry Zara!" said Ran.

Without a word the girl grew sobbing in Ran's arms. Maybe for him today was the toughest day of his life. The parents he loved had abandoned him. The world seemed to end then and there. As if unable to see Zara grieving, Ran unconsciously also shed tears. However, he hastily removed it and held Zara tighter.
