Munding - Legend of the Wolf Fighter

Munding - Legend of the Wolf Fighter
Chapter 99 - Redemption

“Bu Santi earlier what?” amel asked when Munding and Amel were in their car after school.

As usual one of Mr. Broto's drivers will pick up Amel and Munding every time they go home from school and will take them to school. But because the activities of the two of them are different, actually Amel's activities, because Munding did not follow any excrement at all, eventually they have to wait for each other every time they go home from school. Amel will contact his father's driver.

But, since a few weeks ago, Amel always sat in the back seat along with Munding. When I first left and went home from school, Amel would choose to sit on the left of the driver's seat and Munding sat alone in the back.

“No pa-pa,” replied Munding slowly.

Amel just grunted softly and folded his hands in front of his chest. After that Amel threw his face towards the car window and looked at the unbeautiful scenery out there. How do you want beautiful? It contained only a highway that was crowded with motorists.

“Whose wife's name?” amel asked suddenly in a quiet voice, similar to the sound of a mosquito clamping on the door.

“Hmmm?” Munding glanced at Amel, he was a little shocked and hesitant to hear Amel's question.

Amel thought that the question was less loud and not heard by Munding earlier, therefore, Amel repeated it in a louder voice, “whose wife's name?” after that Amel let out an annoyed breath, exactly a child.

Amel was still looking out the window, trying to find a figure of the village face that always filled his head and was very difficult to drown. Who knew he could find the twin Munding who was waiting for Amel on the side of the road.

If Munding who is next to Amel already has one.

Munding smiled, “his name is Nurul Islam, his call is Nurul.”

Amel then turned his face towards Munding and asked slowly, “how is the person?”

Munding threw away his face to avoid Amel's eyes. Munding had a sharp instinct, even if only for a moment, when they both looked at the eye earlier, Munding now knew what was going on with Amel.

Munding looked at the familiar eyes there. The gaze of the eyes that Asma and Nurul also had when looking towards him. Munding threw away his face because he knew that he would not be able to repay the hope of this girl next to him.

Munding then took a deep breath, “Pak Yai and Nurul, they are my rescue angels. Without them, I wouldn't know what my life is like now.”

“First time I was small...”

Munding in a soft voice recounted all his life experiences to Amel, the sweet girl who listened to Munding's story with great care. At times Amel would nod his head and also comment on Munding's story.

But Munding did not tell me at all about that bloody night in Sukorejo. Starting from his meeting with Asma in the village corner field to his fight that made both hands covered with the blood of his enemies, including Mother and Her own Big Brother.

Amel was silent for a while after hearing Munding's story. He now knew how bitter and painful this childhood of the village boy sitting next to him was. Amel also now knows the cause of a small scar on Munding's left temple which turned out to be due to a stone throw wound from his friends during SD first.

Amel also now knows what causes the thin and not very visible bandur wound but filled the entire body of Munding. The wound was caused by ‘siksaan’ from Pak Yai while training Munding. Exercises that Amel thinks are too excessive to do in times like today.

But there are still two wounds that are a mystery to Amel and Munding did not mention him at all earlier. Puncture wounds in Munding's stomach and cuts across his back.

Munding turned his head who had looked out of the window and looked at Amel who looked hesitant, “why?” ask Munding.

Amel lowered his face then ventured to express his question, “if the wounds on Munding's stomach and back were because of what?”

Munding smiled bitterly, “I don't want to discuss the two wounds. That I got from the fight on the darkest night of my life. The night that I lost my biological mother and my biological brother,” Munding replied slowly while taking a deep breath.

They both went back to silence.

“That night also made me here. All these things, where I have to be your bodyguard and I also have to do your Papa wishes, all because that night,” Munding's voice sounded softly continue the sentence slightly hanging earlier.

“Ya let's just say all this was penance for what I did that night. The night that I got these two wounds,” continued the Village Boy.

“Sin atonement? Redemption?” ask Amel slowly.

“You could say that,” replied Munding while nodding his head.

After that, the two of them fell silent in their car. Soon they will be at Amel's house. Amel lowered his head and looked at the car carpet that was under his feet. Munding again looked out the window, towards the scenery that is now starting to change, no longer the frenzied atmosphere of the Semarang city road.

Soon enough Amel's voice broke the silence between the two of them, “after this ‘peneranjaan sin’ mission is finished, what are your plans?” ask Amel lirih.

Munding smiled brightly, “I will return to Source Rejo, meet Nurul and we will live together there. Planting rice under. Raising our children. I will teach our children to hoe and plant rice. Nurul will teach them to teach.”

“We will also walk in the rice fields in the middle of the rice fields that begin to turn yellow, while waiting for the harvest to arrive jokingly and laughing,” continued Munding without hesitation and pause at all.

Amel was silent.

The dream of the village boy next to him is very simple. He did not want to live in a city with all its luxuries. Or dream to have a million-branded sports car like Lamborghini. Or wear sneakers that cost tens of millions that are only to be worn for a walk in the mall for a few minutes then put back on the display glass box when at home.

But when Amel imagined himself holding hands with Munding while feeling the breeze in the middle of the rice field with rice grains that began to turn yellow without anything bothering them, Amel tilted a smile on his lips, “not too bad too anyway,” muttered Amel slowly.

After that, they both went back to silence.

“Munding,” call Amel slowly.

Munding turned his head towards Amel, “ya?”

“I'd love to meet Nurul,” said Amel with a sweet smile, “I want to see what kind of girl who managed to captivate the man I love,” continued Amel in heart.

Munding simply fell silent without giving an answer.
