Munding walked down the rice field until the edge of the village. After that he crossed the great river that separates Sukorejo from Sumber Rejo. Rejo's source is the name of the village where Pak Yai lives.
The further Munding stepped out of the house, the lighter his footsteps became. When Munding saw the village boundary Sumber Rejo in the distance, Munding was impatient and ran.
Run towards Pak Yai's house.
Sukorejo village from Munding is one of the small villages located on the mountain slopes. Together with Sumber Rejo and several other small villages, the area is part of the Sukolilo Subdistrict.
Sukolilo District is a small sub-district town located in a mountainous area. The main livelihood of its inhabitants is farming. The main results planted by farmers are rice and vegetables that are easy to grow in cold temperatures.
In Sukolilo there are only 2 State Junior High School, 1 State High School and 1 State High School, so it can be said that the choice to continue advanced school is very limited. Unlike advanced schools, in each village usually have their own Primary School, sometimes in one village more than one Elementary School is there.
But the limitations of upper-level advanced schools have never been a problem in Sukolilo. For farmers, they do not need high school, which is important to know how to grow crops and they can live well.
Wage never wanted to continue his schooling to Junior High. He only graduated SDN Sukorejo and chose to work in his rice field after graduation. Unlike the Wage, Sutinah graduated from SMAN 1 Sukolilo.
Sutinah was once a girl who was literate with the progress of the times.
Munding stopped in front of Pak Yai's mosque. He gasped for breath after running. When she looked towards Pak Yai's house, Nurul was sweeping in the front yard. Seeing Munding who came while carrying a large plastic in hand and a school bag full of books, Nurul immediately ran into the house.
Shortly after, Mr. Yai came out of the house. He walked towards Munding and glanced at the plastic bag and Munding bag.
“You've asked permission to your mother Le?” ask Mr. Yai.
“Already Use Yai,” replied Munding.
“Try how did you say?” ask Mr. Yai.
“Munding earlier said gini Pak Yai ‘Mother, Munding would like to leave. From now on Munding will not stay here again’ to Ibuk,” said Munding.
“Because you said that?” ask Mr. Yai.
“Iya Pak Yai,” Munding replied seriously.
“Yes already if so, lift one empty closet in the house continue to put it in the mosque for your clothes and book,” said Mr. Yai.
“Iya Pak Yai,” Munding smiled sumringah then put the luggage. Munding walked towards Pak Yai and kissed the back of Pak Yai's hand.
And that was the beginning of Munding's life in Sumber Rejo village.
\=\=\=\=\=
A small boy in SD uniform is seen running down the village road that connects Sukorejo and Sumber Rejo. A bright smile was seen on his face.
The boy is Munding.
Munding has been living with Mr. Yai for a few days in Sumber Rejo village and he really likes it. The routine starts from the morning when Pak Yai wakes him with a shot of rattan sticks to the body to perform dawn prayers.
Then he will begin to draw water from the well to fill the bathtub and proceed with sweeping the yard of Pak Yai's house and mushola yard.
Nurul will usually call Munding for breakfast if Bu Nyai's cooking is ready and the four of them will have breakfast together. After that, Munding will go to school as usual.
Although Munding's body felt tired after doing all his activities every day, the melodious chanting of Quran verses from Nurul's mouth after Isya became a panacea for Munding to fall asleep at night.
That is why, Munding always waits for the time to come home from school. And when the wheel of the car that was hung in front of the teacher's room was struck, Munding would immediately shoot like an arrow out of his bow.
Munding has paved the way.
The connecting road between Sukorejo and Sumber Rejo. The border between the two villages is shown by a bridge that crosses the river that flows between the two villages. When Munding had seen the bridge, it meant that he had almost reached the Rejo Source.
Munding who was running did not realize that from the left of the road a stone the size of a baby's fist floated towards his head.
Bakkkkkkkkkkkk.
The sound of a rock hitting the head was heard. Munding was thrown to the right side because of the stone throw earlier. Munding, who suddenly felt like a hammer had been smashed into his left temple, collapsed and fell instantly.
“Hahahahahahahahahaahaaha.”
There was the sound of laughter from the left side of the road. Joko and his friends were hiding among the trees and bushes that were there.
Munding felt a warm liquid flowing from his left temple. He also felt his head twitching a little. His left hand reflexively held towards the source of the pain and he was stunned when he saw blood drenching his palm.
“Child *****, we've been looking for you for days. Apparently you're now hiding to the next village huh?” yell Joko.
Munding glanced at Joko's voice and saw that there were 13 people there.7 men and 6 women. They were all Munding's classmates. Why are they all waiting for me here? munding said in his heart.
Of the thirteen people, only 5 of the gang Joko who advanced to approach Munding are still lying on the road. Munding tries to think quickly and finally makes a decision.
Run.
The bridge connecting the village was in sight. Joko and his group will not dare to mess around in Sumber Rejo.
As fast as lightning Munding who was still lying and holding his bloody left temple jumped up and ran as hard as he could towards the bridge. The sudden action of Munding made Joko and her friends confused because of shock.
“Asuuuuuu, don't run you!!!!” yell Joko.
Joko and his friends chase after Munding who runs like a doormat. In a matter of seconds, some of Joko's comrades fell out of breath. Maybe because they rarely exercise.
“Fight me if brave!” shouted Candra, the son of the Sturdy who became a loyal follower of Joko, while panting.
Negotiating not caring about the cries of the children, he just focused his attention forward and tried to run as fast as he could.
Instinct brought him to the house of Pak Yai in the corner of Sumber Rejo village and when Munding saw the mushola and the house that was familiar with him, Munding ran faster.
Munding fell unconscious on the terrace of the mushola. Blood was still flowing from his left temple which was torn by a stone throw from Joko. Munding's school clothes were also drenched in blood.
Nurul, who found Munding's body drenched in blood, cried and shouted loudly. Shortly afterwards, Nyai Bu who heard Nurul's screams came out of the house and found Munding on the terrace of the mosque.
Ms. Nyai also asked the neighbors to contact Mr. Yai who is still in the rice field. Then Bu Nyai gave first aid to clean the wound on Munding's head.
