A Tale of the Past

Ryan stepped out his legs with an erratic feeling. Her hand pushes Rani in a wheelchair, which now draws her closer to a door that will lead them to a piece of the past story, which will either continue to be remembered or will be so easily forgotten in the upcoming episodes of their lives.

The closer, Ryan's heart was pounding. There was an unwilling feeling that suddenly danced and disturbed the defenses of his heart.

"Has my decision to bring him to his past been correct? Ah, I can't be selfish" Ryan murmured inwardly.

"Mas Ryan sure?" suddenly Rani asked while holding her husband's hand, which was on the iron pedal of the wheelchair behind her shoulder.

"of course. You have to get your past done, so that after this we can focus more on our future" replied Ryan, deliberately made as quiet as possible to cover up his anxiety.

At the door, they stopped. Both Ryan and Rani are heart-setting.

Tede was lying in a hospital room resignedly. His body was very thin, his entire hair was falling out and his body was drooping limp. The handsome face of a campus prima donna in his time was long gone.

There was no answer yet, suddenly the sound of the door being knocked. Before long, Rani shows up with Ryan from behind the door. Because the infusion hose has been removed, Rani decided to enter without using a wheelchair so that the impression that she was weak was not seen by the person who had filled and hurt her heart.

Rani continued to walk up to Tede, with her hands clasped tightly to her husband's.

Meanwhile, from another corner of space Tede's eyes widened, unprepared to see the person he had been trying to let go of suddenly appear before him.

For a moment, he looked at the girl who was still tightly tucked away in his heart galaxy with an intense longing.

"Now you've really changed, baby," Tede murmured inwardly.

Rani, a girl who used to appear with tied hair, tight jeans that were deliberately torn on her knees, is also a T-shirt that she almost always wears, now turned into a graceful girl covered in hijab with her neat.

"Ahh, your name is still engraved in my heart, dear. This love is still firmly emblazoned in the universe of my soul. Even if you can read this deep heart, the feeling is even greater than before. Even though you're two now with the person you love, but my heart and feelings will remain the same, never to be erased until I'm over," Tede dissolved in his own mind seeing the woman he loved coming closer to him.

Both mama also welcomed Rani's arrival and let her approach Tede.

With hesitation, Rani approached the weak body before her. Whether what feelings now dominate his heart, which is clear just to be with Tede is not an easy matter for Rani at that time.

"Please wait outside" whispered Ryan softly, loosening his hand.

Ryan smiled at his wife's reaction, even though what was in his heart Ryan did not know.

"Sorry," that's all that can come out of Tede's mouth.

"I've forgiven you. I'm sorry I hated you so much. And thank you for prioritizing my happiness," said Rani Lirih, now sobs can no longer be held back.

I don't know why Ryan's heart ached seeing that piece of the scene. He loosened his wife's hand, so as not to see a piece of the story and let them settle their affairs in the past in her absence. But again, Rani grabbed the hand back and clasped tightly, as if she did not want to be left.

"Thank you for making me find my happiness," finally the word came out of Rani's mouth.

Tede nodded and smiled wryly towards Ryan.

"I'm happy to let you go, Ran. I can calm down now. I'm really ready if God wants me" Tede said stammeringly. His breath went up and down as if oxygen was no longer easy to breathe.

"Rest, no need to think. We always pray for you" said Rani warmly.

Before long, Rani bothered to go back to her room and rest.

"Why didn't you let Mas go?" ryan asked as soon as they reached the room where Rani was being treated.

"Because we promised each other that time. Rani will keep herself away from other men and Mas Ryan will keep herself away from other women" replied Rani with a faint smile on her lips.

"Are you sorry for everything that happened? Cry on Mas's shoulder if it can take away the heavy burden on your heart!" ryan said as he gently stroked the top of his wife's head.

Rani just smiled then hugged her husband's body tightly. There was no crying at the time. For Rani, a piece of the past story must have brought its own path. Saddened? Sure oes. But Rani is convinced that the scenario God gave her must have been much more beautiful.

"Let a piece of the episode that hurt me that time, deliver a beautiful new episode with you, my Imam" Rani said in her husband's ear.

And for some reason, Ryan was happy to hear those words. Although Ryan does not know, whether his new presence in a matter of months has succeeded in shifting the name of Tede who has entered Rani's life for so long?
