The Word was walking hastily towards me. Her face flushed.
"Firman ...," my tongue is hoarse.
Twice he did something stupid because of this kind of situation. There can be no third time.
I immediately got up and pulled the Word in the opposite direction.
"Darling, it's not what you think it is" I framed his face with both hands.
We're at the security post now.
"Look at me! Lookatme!" my orders.
He looked at me with a look of wanting to swallow me whole.
I immediately embraced his burly body. I felt his chest go up and down withholding emotions. I don't care, if he gets angry let him be mad at me.
I hugged him for a long time, until finally both his hands returned my embrace. He managed to temper his emotions.
I heard his breath in my ear. Hugged me tightly.
"Help me, Lin, please. I don't want to misunderstand anymore. I don't want to regret it anymore" he said.
"There's no misunderstanding, man. I happened to meet Adi in that mini market. There's nothing between us. You believe that, don't you?"
"I .. believe," let me kiss my forehead.
Again, I hugged him tightly.
"I don't want to lose you, for whatever reason" he said.
"No, man. It won't."
Let go of his embrace, with him I returned to the building.
"Aren't you in a meeting, man? Why are you even going outside?"
"Because I don't feel good, Lin. So I went straight outside. You better stay in the room. Seeing you in front of me makes me calmer."
I put my shoulder in the open elevator.
"Man, I'll just wait here, yeah," I asked as we passed by the waiting room.
"But promise, don't go anywhere, yeah," he said. "If you want something, say it to Siska, Secretary Reno," he appointed the bespectacled Woman.
"Yes, Mas, I'll sit here sweet," I said.
"Don't worry me" he kissed me for a moment.
"I promise."
Word hesitantly stepped into Reno's room. But finally his back that field disappeared behind the door. I sat on the sofa in the waiting room.
"So Adi said what, huh?" mumamku curious.
Do I have to contact her again? Ah, nevermind. I'm not a donkey that can fall into the same hole. I don't want anything to happen to my house. I will never leave the house without my husband's permission.
...
The Word is really trying to change. I know very well that he always tries to think positively of me. Never again did she question Adi or urge me to tell her what happened.
With the change, I became more and more trying to keep his trust. I don't want any more misunderstandings.
I cannot leave the Word in such a difficult situation. We finally agreed to stay longer in Jakarta. All my work is done through electronic devices.
I was sketching a house plan for a couple of newlyweds who wanted a house with a contemporary design, when my gaze rang.
A name is on the screen. Setiadi.
What made him call me? Should I lift it?
"Assalamu 'alaikum, Di. What's up?" ask me to the point.
"Wa 'alaikum greetings, Lin. Actually I was hesitant to call you, but it looks like it's important to your husband" he replied from the other end.
I thought for a moment.
"What do you mean this is about the company?"
"Yes." Yeah."
"Do you know about the situation at the office right now?"
"Yes, Lin. I know."
I straightened my back. Prepare to hear what he is going to say.
"Continue, Di," I asked.
"Maybe you wouldn't know if I told you. Try saying the same Word to ..," he explained it at length.
I try to understand what he is saying. At least I understand what Adi means.
"Just say that to the Word. I'm sure he knows what he has to do," Adi finally ended his explanation.
"Why do you want to help us, Di?" I don't know why I asked that.
"Because you still want to be friends with me, after what I did to you. I really appreciate it. You've never been the slightest bit bad or blamed me for anything that's ever happened."
"ridiculous. Why am I beating you up? Especially when you were friends. I feel like I'm wrong between you, so your friendship is broken" I regret.
"Nothing's wrong, Lin. Maybe it should be. The last time we worked together here, he was nice. I know, it must be because of you. Don't worry, I don't intend to bother you or take you back from him. Because I know it's a wasted thing."
"Thank you, yes, Di. May this be a way out for the Word" I said.
"If there's anything to ask, call me."
"OKAY. Thanks again for helping us."
"We're friends, you said that, right?"
...
I welcome the Word who just came home from the office. He looks tired.
"Honey, drink the tea first," I said as I offered a cup of warm tea with a slice of lemon in it.
"Thank you, honey," he received the cup and immediately drank it to the toilet.
"House? No water in the office?" candaku.
The Word just laughs.
"Not in the office there is no water, but in the office there is no you who make it," he replied.
"So how? Any enlightenment?"
"We're still doing it all" Word changed his sitting position.
"Is there a possibility of human error?" my many.
"Yes. Including deliberate human error" he said.
"You mean there's corruption?"
"There are some people who are given authority on that. It's my fault, since long ago I only knew everything was sorted out from Adi. I've never done a person-by-person performance."
"Why not Adi?"
"This is none of his business" replied the Word ketus.
"Honey, I don't really understand how complex your company problem is. Especially people. All I know is Ma'am Icha. But, can you not check about ...," I repeat everything Adi said last afternoon. Of course I changed it from my point of view.
The Word listened carefully. Sometimes he seems to think. It seemed like he understood the meaning of my words, even though I myself did not fully understand.
"I know what you mean. Tomorrow I try to check again" he said at the end.
"But don't forget, man, put the right person in the right position. Not everyone you can trust, right?"
"Yes, honey," she cut my hair. "Thank you, for your advice. Here I give you a gift," pulled my arm so I could move to his side.
"If the prize is just a kiss, mending is not necessary. That's not a gift. That's breakfast, lunch and dinner" I sneered.
Word laughs.
"So, did Bi Sumi come home?"
"Udah. Nanyain Bi Sumi. What does the gift have to do with Bi Sumi?"
"If Bi Sumi has come home, I can give her a gift now. If it doesn't mean the prize will be pending later tonight," he said, raising his eyebrows.
I put my hand on his face.
"Think first it's a company, not think of others," she might think of it when we had a serious conversation.
"And you already love the solution, even you can clearly explain who and which position might be responsible for all this. What else should I think."
Suddenly my heart was pounding. The words of the Word seemed to insinuate me, saying that I could not possibly know all that if no one told me.
I was wrong immediately.
"Here, honey," he patted her on the thigh, telling me to sit there.
I can only obey.
Hugged my waist, kissed my shoulder. Disbursed my hair, showing my neck that is still decorated with some red marks because of his behavior. Give him some kisses there.
"Man ...."
"Anyone who told you this was all the same to you?" the whisper was directly in my ear, making me feel electrocuted.
"Yes" I answered honestly.
As if my answer had no effect on her, she continued to kiss my neck and shoulders.
"Aren't you angry, Man?" tanyaku carefully.
"I told you, Lin, I love you so much, and I'm sure, now you love me too. I trust you, you will not betray me" he said in a raucous voice.
I turned my body so I could look straight at him. Our eyes are in a straight line. No words came out of our lips. Only our eyes dived into each other's hearts.
"I love you, Man," I said.
"You know I love you more" he replied.
"But I've raised my love level with you" I don't want to lose.
"Setep your love level below my love level" he said.
"Prove it!" my challenge.
"Now you have dared to abstain, yes" he said, locking both hands with one hand.
"No, no, I'm kidding!" my yelling. "Agot!"
Too late, he's been tickling my waist.
"Word, geez!" yell again.
"No mercy," he kept tickling me, making me like a hot worm in his lap, until tears poured out of my eyes.
He finally stopped his action. I let him breathe normally.
"Tell him my thanks" said Word unexpectedly.
"I'll tell you," I replied with a smile.
I'm proud of you, my man. Dare to admit mistakes and be willing to correct yourself. They are big souls and want to respect others.
I hope I can improve and get better for you.
