Girl In The Winter's

Girl In The Winter's
Chapter 9

I remember years ago

(I remember last year)

Someone toold me I should take

(Someone told me to get me)

Caution when it comes to love

(Cautiously related to love)

I did, I did

(i've been careful)

And you were strong and I was not

(And you're so strong that I'm not)

My illusion, my mistake

(My memory, my fault)

I was careless, I forgot

(I'm careless, I forgot)

I did

(I forgot)

Ayumi stood looking at the expanse of the Pacific ocean in front of her, her hands clutching at the lighthouse fence, her black hair unraveling in the gentle gusts of wind giving comfort to a heart that felt sore. Songs from Sontelle gently flow from earphones that always faithfully accompany, as if justifying the stupidity he did when trying to open his heart and feelings to the man he just knew. All this time he always shut himself off from the men who tried to approach because of his stupidity and carelessness now he was hurt.

"Foolish base, what have I done?" His whisper cursed himself for easily opening his heart to a man just because his instinct told him he could trust him.

Erik didn't have to shout it on the roof or even write it down in the skyline, everyone now knew it, scorned, judged it without any defense. Ayumi took a deep breath recalling the whispers and mocking looks she received from the entire campus but her heart was again torn apart when she recalled the words of the man who insulted her.

He opened his heart to men for the first time, telling everything, a month ago Erik strengthened his heart to give a sense of comfort but today he laughs, considers him stupid. It was not Eric's fault, it was his own folly, he who first opened himself to the man, he who invited him to spend the holidays together, he who told his secret without any coercion, he fell asleep under that tree. Yes, all this is his fault.

Ayumi again took a heavy breath, her eyes looked at the sky which is now orange, she should have been able to prepare herself, her father always said 'prepare your heart, sometimes live not as expected, not as expected, reality is not as beautiful as a dream'.is not he used to the feeling of being betrayed and discarded? Even the person who had given birth to it threw it away without hesitation, the stepmother she hoped would fill the void and thirst for affection a mother never thought existed and now a man has hurt her heart and trust.

"AAARRGH.. BASIC BODOOH!" Ayumi screamed splitting the ocean startling the flock of birds flying over her, the cry served as a miracle cure, her chest was no longer too tight she could breathe a little lightly. As he used to do when he had problems, so today he will leave all the problems that befell him along with the sinking of the afternoon sun, and tomorrow he is ready to welcome a new day.

Ayumi spread out both hands while raising her head, her eyes closed feeling the gust of wind that was hugging her gently, carrying all the sorrows that were squeezing her chest, flying, for the last time he took a deep breath filling his lungs with fresh air before he returned to face the worldly turmoil.

"Excite, Ayu!" He shouted encouragingly to himself while raising both his hands into space, with a new spirit possessed he turned his body intending to leave the place, but...

"Let'sahh!" He screamed in shock at the figure of a tall man looming before him, his face covered in a gray scarf except for his brown eyes, the man shouted in shock at seeing Ayumi suddenly shout in front of him, the man suddenly shouted in front of him, and now after shouting the man rambled with a language that he did not understand at all.

Holding her chest which was still beating fast in shock Ayumi looked at the man before her in a daze, all she could do was raise her eyebrows while gaping, gaping, after a few minutes of blabbering, the man was silent and was now looking at Ayumi while folding his hands over her chest. For a while they looked at each other and raised their eyebrows together, because it seemed like the man would not budge in the face-to-face event that Ayumi finally left the man who was now shouting to call her.

"Hey, yeah!"

Ayumi considers that a call for her, though, but he did not care enough about his experience with a man who today has made him hurt and for now he does not want anything to do with the name of a creature of the male sex.

"Hey, yeah!"

"Look! I don't understand what you said earlier and you think I'll care? Reluctant, I don't care you say what so now can you ga diem ga don't yell yah yah mulu? In my name I am not Yayah or Ijah and stop following me! Do you understand?" Ayumi could see now that the man was gaping to see himself speaking in Indonesian which she believed he did not understand in the slightest, as evidenced by his expression that only winked confused eyes.

"Good, didn't you notice what I said just now? The same! I also don't understand what you said earlier, so now we're even ok?! Bye, see you, da-dah," continued Ayumi as she raised her palm and resumed her journey.

For a moment the man just fell silent before finally laughing out loud and running after Ayumi.

"Wait on! I'm sorry, I forgot for a moment that I wasn't in Korea" the man said with a smile.

Maybe if his condition is not in a state of heartbreak like now, he will admit that the man in front of him is very handsome, with dimples and brown eyes that look shady, he said, although his tall body is towering wrapped in torn jeans on the knee, a white T-shirt bearing the name of a rock n roll band behind a black leather jacket that looks fitting in his body, his right shoulder carrying a brown backpack, brown, while his left shoulder carries the guitar place (?) looks like a teenager who just ran away from home, but Ayumi senses that the man is not a bad person.

"Good! It turns out that you speak English" said Ayumi, raising her eyebrows, which made the man laugh a second time.

"Kevin." The man reached out his hand inviting shaking hands that inevitably ended up being welcomed by Ayumi.

"It's good to know you, Kevin, and goodbye." Ayumi again walked away leaving Kevin who was still gaping in disbelief he had just been abandoned by a woman three times in less than an hour, with a smile he returned to pursue Ayumi.

"You haven't mentioned your name yet."

"Is that important?"

"Yes, unless you want me to call you, hey, " said Kevin who made Ayumi glance at him with a murderous look.

"So, hey (?), where are we going?" Ayumi stopped her steps and faced Kevin with a fierce face.

"Look! My name's not hey and I'm going alone, not us, do you understand?" Ayumi's words successfully made Kevin speechless and Ayumi could see the look in his eyes changed there was a flash of sadness there that made him feel guilty for a while, but he quickly put that feeling aside.

In the moment of silence that the two of them felt suddenly the sound of stomach rumbling broke the silence, Ayumi saw Kevin directly holding while looking down at the flat stomach slice.

"My wallet was pickled this morning, so I haven't eaten anything yet" he said, Ayumi was silent for a while before finally understanding where this conversation was headed, he reached into the wallet in his bag and gave the five dollar bill to Kevin who just looked at him confused.

"Take it, I see you mean, you should have said from the beginning that you ask for money no need to pretend to invite all acquaintances," said Ayumi in a thin tone, Kevin was just speechless looking at the hand that was still outstretched with money in his hand, then he looked into Ayumi's eyes with sad and injured eyes.

"Don't pretend to be naive like that, is this what you want? Just take it, I don't have time to joke."

The man took a deep breath, "I'm not a beggar," he said softly with a smile, "I just came from Korea yesterday to look for my family and last night to save money I slept on this park bench, but apparently someone took my wallet when I fell asleep," he continued, staring at Ayumi who was now silent, "Thank you, Miss, for the money offer but I can still survive by drinking only the water available here," he continued while fixing the position of the backpack on his shoulder.

"Sorry to bother you, good night." Kevin walked away from Ayumi who was silent.

But his steps stopped, then the man turned his body and walked back to Ayumi.

"Just a little input for you, Miss, never judge or judge someone easily just from the appearance alone especially if you don't know him." Kevin's words successfully make Ayumi like slapped, slapped, wasn't that what he told Erik last afternoon not to judge someone he didn't know? And look what he's doing now, he's been insulting and accusing people he doesn't know.

"My appearance is like this, but I still have my pride and honor.I think since you are both from Asia, you will understand and we will help each other, please, but apparently my instincts are wrong to trust you."

Again Ayumi felt dyed by ice water heard that, did not she feel instinct and hurt feelings because she trusted Erik? and what was happening now, he hurt the feeling of the man who was looking at him with the same look in his eyes when he looked at Erik earlier.

"I'm sorry, it's not your fault, it's my fault for trusting the instincts that you are a good person" he said with a smile, "Thank you for the money but you can give it to people who need it more. Good bye." Kevin leaves Ayumi who is still unconscious from her shock.
