Girl In The Winter's

Girl In The Winter's
Chapter 47

Mr. Radit, Dr. Choi and Mr. Lee had left the room but Kevin and Rama just kept silent, seeing that Rama immediately took action.

“Oppa, accompany me to eat, I am very hungry. You are also Erik Oppa,” said Rama, his left hand clasped Kevin's arm and his right hand pulled Erik who looked ferocious looking at Lee Soo Hyuk who seemed unaffected by that gaze because his eyes never separated from Ayumi.

The room suddenly felt quiet as they all left Ayumi and Lee Soo Hyuk who were only silent, their eyes clashed for a while.

“Ayumi, i.”.

“No, please don't say that you're going to apologize,” Ayumi said cutting off Lee Soo Hyuk's words.

“No,” said the man with the nose, “I will not apologize. I ask you not to forgive me because I do not deserve to be forgiven.”

Ayumi gasped at the words of the man who looked serious with his words, they looked back at each other, Ayumi looked for the truth in her sharp eyes that looked sad and shady.

“You know, I almost fell in love with you.” Dr. Lee was aghast at Ayumi's speech, which was still looking at him gently, but no he disliked the gaze because there was pain behind it all, and he knew it was the cause.

“With all your fake attention, you managed to get me to open up for the first time since I got hurt. I thought you were a man who could make me forget my grief, give me comfort and never die like the others. I was thinking, ah God finally sent me a white riding prince in your figure, but I should have known that the white riding prince only exists in a bedtime fairy tale to give you a good dream, but a dream remains a dream that will eventually end and return to face the harsh reality of life.”

Lee Soo Hyuk was silent at Ayumi's remark, his heart ached with such great regret but he could not say anything because he knew, he was wrong and the girl had the right to punish him.

“But however I say thank you for being present during my difficult times, you became a crutch so I wouldn't fall, you pushed me so that I wouldn't give up and you stood in front of me as a shield to defend me, even if it was all just a falsehood.

“Ayumi..”.

Weakly Soo Hyuk accepts the necklace he accidentally bought as an expression of his feelings for the girl, but it's all over despite her sincere feelings but she can't possibly expect Ayumi to forgive her and accept herself and her family, given how much they've hurt the girl.

“I hope from now on we don't know each other, as long as I'm in the hospital I hope you just treat me as a patient like no other, no more, if we cross each other outside just consider me a stranger.”

Soo Hyuk was downcast with injured eyes and Ayumi could see that, she knew she had spoken harshly to the man in front of her, she knew that the man was hurt, but no, he should not be weak at this moment because the man had already hurt him more than he realized. Yes, the man did not know that he had trusted him and placed great hopes on him for their future.

“I want to rest,” continued Ayumi while tilting her back to Lee Soo Hyuk who stared at the fragile body in front of her.

“Alright.. I go,” said Lee Soo Hyuk with a vibrating voice, he turned his body but his steps felt heavy, he just stood motionless for a while until finally he took a deep breath.

“There is something you need to know, my feelings for you are real not a fake, all my actions have been based on my feelings. I knew I was wrong to have agreed to my sister's request, but she didn't know that long before her request... I have been in love since I first saw a girl wearing dark blue jeans, white sneakers and a white shirt enter this hospital entrance in weird-sounding Korean, he has stolen my heart, he is a late first-year resident on his first day of duty.”

Ayumi gasped at the man's words, she remembered that day. The first day he worked as a resident and he arrived late, Lee Soo Hyuk who served as his guidance physician gave him a sentence for a few days which made him look like a panda due to lack of sleep.

“I have no regrets for punishing you back then, because that way I can be with you all the time, I also do not regret granting my sister's request to approach you because without her telling me to fall in love with you, even if I betrayed my own family I would not let you go, I plan to take you away from Korea away from everyone who has hurt you. We'll get married and live happily even without my family, we'll live in a modest house, then open a small clinic not far from home so I don't have to leave you and our children, either, that's my dream. And what I regret for not being able to carry out all the plans that I have neatly arranged. I've even prepared everything.”

Dr. Lee took two pieces of plane tickets from his pocket to Paris, clearly imprinted the name of Ayumi and himself there. With trembling hands he put it on the nightstand next to Ayumi's bed, he stared at the sheet with glazed eyes because now his dream was over. Lee Soo Hyuk looked up at the roof of the hospital and was silent for a while, before he resumed his words, “Goodbye Ayumi, from tomorrow I will resign from this hospital and leave your life for good.

Lee Soo Hyuk left the room with tears that began to wet his cheeks but without him knowing Ayumi was holding back her sobs by pinning her head into a pillow. He knew the surgeon was a good man, and he was his back, and he taught him to be strong with anything, the one who defended him in public regardless of everyone's views, was the one who was always by his side when everyone turned away, so how could he possibly hate the man so easily? No, he doesn't hate it. For God's sake he could never hate the man, the man who always believed in him when others including the man he loved easily doubted him, he just wants to be free from all the feelings that bind his heart, for now he just wants to be alone and start rearranging his heart that has been broken into pieces.
