Girl In The Winter's

Girl In The Winter's
Chapter 10

Slowly Ayumi looked at the back of Kevin who walked away with a backpack and guitar on each shoulder, he was thrown two years ago when he had just come from Indonesia to look for his mother, he almost died of hypothermia but there was John who helped him at that time who did not even know Ayumi at all, but now who will help Kevin? Oh my God, what has he done? He even insulted the man.

"Wait!" Exclaim Ayumi as she ran after Kevin who still walked, "Wait! I'm sorry.I don't mean to insult you just, today is one of the worst days for me," said Ayumi, gasping for breath after having to follow Kevin's long steps.

"It's okay, miss, didn't I tell you it wasn't your fault." Kevin said without reducing his walking speed that made Ayumi have to run small.

"Listen, I know that I was rude to insult you earlier, I didn't mean it that way, please forgive me," ayumi said sincerely and Kevin could see it from the girl's black eyes.

Kevin paused his steps and took a deep breath, "Alright I forgive you, but please next time you can't judge people carelessly." Ayumi nodded her head eagerly agreeing to that which made Kevin smile again, "So now can I know your name?" kevin asked as he walked back but this time he walked leisurely beside Ayumi.

"Yumy."

"Ojumi? but it doesn't seem like it's Japanese" Kevin said, staring at Ayumi curiously.

"No, I'm from Indonesia," Ayumi replied with a smile, she glued her thin cardigan, tonight it looks like it will be very cold inner Ayumi. Kevin opened his scarf and put it on Ayumi's wide neck and received such treatment from the man he had just known a few minutes ago.

"You look cold, I wanted to be like in a Korean drama to give you my jacket, but I'm also cold" Kevin said casually, which made Ayumi laugh.

"Thank you." Ayumi fixed her scarf to cover her neck warmly, "So did you come here to look for your brother?" They walked to the bus stop not far from the park.

"Yes, but it looks like he's moved somewhere, I went to the last address I had but he wasn't there."

As the dejavu Ayumi experienced two years ago made the girl's heart move, she felt what Kevin was feeling now.

"So what are you going to do now?" ayumi asked as she hugged herself because she remembered the sad feeling she felt two years ago, her own feelings in the country of people without anyone to be a hostage.

"Now I have to find a place to sleep tonight, tomorrow I'll find a job to earn money and go back to Korea." Kevin turned his head to look at the dark Vancouver sky with no stars.

Ayumi was silent for a while, trying to find a way out for her new friend who had the same fate as her.

"Did you mind sleeping in the hospital?" Finally Ayumi broke the silence, for a long time after she thought carefully, and, it was impossible for him to just leave Kevin on the streets without a penny and the man's self-esteem was too high to accept the money given from him.

"You mean I should pretend to be sick?" Ayumi could hear the confused tone of the man's voice.

"No, I'm working as an intern at the hospital tonight and I know a place you can sleep in, not so comfortable but at least you won't be cold" Ayumi said excitedly, Kevin was silent for a moment thinking about it.

"Wouldn't that be a problem for you?" Kevin asked seriously, he did not want to invite trouble for the girl.

"There will be no problem, there is one floor above that is being renovated but take it easy the sleeping equipment is still complete we just get rid of the plastic cover and you can sleep, you can sleep, and certainly no one will be there other than the construction workers and at night they will go home, so I will sneak you in there tonight, and tomorrow morning before they come we're gone from there, how?" Ayumi asked with a bright smile as she could solve the problem of a place to stay tonight for Kevin.

"Well, what a great idea," Kevin replied with a bright smile adorning his handsome face, as they sat in the bus stop waiting for the direction they were going to take.

"Come on! The bus is coming." Ayumi pulls Kevin into the bus and chooses a back seat for them to sit on.

"Isn't it still too late for a sneak act?" kevin whispered that made Ayumi smile.

"No, we're going to eat for free first, tonight I have an invitation from my friend to open their family restaurant." Kevin smiled happily when he heard the word eat.

"Well! That's good news, I'm very hungry" Kevin said grimacingly touching his stomach. They were silent again in silence for a moment.

"Two years later, we have almost the same story." Ayumi smiles and tells her story but she does not tell her about her birth mother, she learns from her experience with Erik and she does not want to be disappointed a second time.

"So John is your savior angel and you are my savior angel, my angel," Kevin said with a smile that made Ayumi's cheeks flushed red.

"Hey!" Ayumi shouted while clapping in surprise Kevin who was now looking at her confusedly, "How can I forget, you fool," Ayumi said as she patted her seat, while Kevin can only gap confused to see the girl next to him.

"Can you snowboard or ski?" Ayumi's round eyes glowed expectantly while looking at Kevin who still looked confused.

"Yes, I can play snowboarding and skiing."

"Good, I think I've got a job for you" Ayumi said with a happy smile, while Kevin could only raise his eyebrows looking confused.

"Come on, John, it's winter soon and you'll need an extra employee at the resort, you see he's very, very interesting, he also speaks Korean and Japanese so there's no need to hire a translator anymore, all in one." Ayumi said in a reassuring voice like a reliable marketing man, John just looked at her while breathing heavily.

"Come on, I'm begging you." Ayumi pleaded with her eyes that always managed to melt the heart of her magical friend, but this time John just raised his eyebrows, "John! He's a poor good man, don't you fuck him?" the question had no effect on John who was still standing on his arm while looking at Ayumi who was now taking a deep breath because his appeal did not work.

"Alright, John, I give up.”

John seems surprised that Ayumi easily gives up in an attempt to seduce him into accepting the girl's new friend as his employee, "I'll call your mother and ask her for help finding a job for Kevin." Ayumi casually pulled out her mobile phone.

"Wow-wow wait a minute, little girl." As fast as John's lightning robs his cell phone, he should have known it, Ayumi will not be that easy to give up and her mother is the man's biggest weakness, let alone her mother is very fond of Ayumi.

"So I was just kidding, Baby, do you think I'd miss a guy like that?" Ayumi widened her eyes as she was happy she jumped into the man's arms while laughing happily.

"You mean, you're gonna take it work?"

John smiled as he nodded in response to Ayumi's question which looked very happy like a child who was allowed to eat a jar of candy.

"Thank you, John, you are indeed our savior angel" said Ayumi sincerely as she kissed John's cheek, smiling to see the girl happy.

"Let's tell Kevin this good news" Ayumi ran out of John's office behind the counter.

As planned last night Kevin stayed at the hospital, then this morning they went straight to the cafe facing John asking for a job for the man, Ayumi did not even have time to go home to his apartment, he said, she still wears the same clothes as yesterday and luckily she always puts clean clothes in the cafeteria locker, but obviously she only slept an hour last night in the hospital.

"Kevin!" Ayumi exclaimed enthusiastically, a smile rising on her lips, she half ran towards the outside where Kevin had been waiting for her, but her steps came to a halt when she saw the towering figure of a tall man standing there, looking at him with sharp black eyes, the man who yesterday made his heart hurt, the man who had always made his heart beat as abnormally as it was now, the man he had unknowingly stolen half of his heart, it was Erik Kim.

"Did he accept me?" unwittingly Kevin has now stood on his face with a hopeful face.

Ayumi turned her gaze away from Erik and focused her gaze towards Kevin, "Yes she accepts you." Ayumi tried to answer Kevin's question with a normal voice covering her nervousness, without warning Kevin first pulled her into the arms and then lifted her up like he was raising a child while laughing happily.

"You know? you really are my guardian angel, my angel," said Kevin as he looked at Ayumi with happy eyes.

Behind Kevin's body, Ayumi could see Erik was still staring with sharp eyes, his jaw slightly hardened before he finally turned to leave the cafe with long steps.
