Girl In The Winter's

Girl In The Winter's
Chapter 38

Ayumi walked over with a shammer, her eyes blank, her mind twisting what Erik said earlier that he was getting married this spring. It will all be over with him soon. His autumn man, the man who had overturned his world. He is now standing in front of his apartment, his hands trembling when he had to massage some password numbers to unlock the door, after it opened quickly he immediately entered.

With his feet dragged he walked towards a room that was a size wider than his room in Vancouver. His body immediately collapsed on his bed covered in a white bedcover with a spread of pink cherry blossom images, at the head of her bed lies sweetly a minion doll she accidentally brought from Vancouver, a doll that accompanies her to sleep every day, a gift doll from someone who means so much in her life.

His chest felt tight as if he was squeezed by a large rock, but there were no tears coming out, he was just lying motionless, his eyes staring at the ceiling of the room with a blank look. For an hour he remained motionless, until finally the sound of his clumsy phone broke all his daydreams.

He sat down to pick up the small object that kept ringing in his leather bag, after seeing the name plastered on his screen, suddenly his chest tightened again, his eyes sore. His trembling finger was twitching the green button, he placed it in his ear.

"Yeah! Why so long?" his tears were now no longer held back after hearing the voice of someone who had always protected him, "Have you reached the apartment? What exactly are you doing? Are you in the shower? Did you know that I called from earlier, but you didn't pick it up? Ckk, you're making your Opp feel worried."

Ayumi tried to hold back her sobs by pressing her mouth using the back of her hand. My God, he really wanted his stepbrother to be there right now, he needed someone to lean on, but he was far away in Seoul with his myriad of artistic activities.

"Ayumi, why are you quiet? Are you all right?" Kevin began to sound suspicious because there was no answer from the girl who was still strong enough to hold back her tears.

"Ayumi, speak!" After a while there was no answer from his sister.

"Damn, Ayumi! Speak up or I'll call the police and have them check you out at the apartment."

"K-Kevin!" exclaimed Ayumi who no longer held back her sobs, now she sobbed while continuing to call Kevin's name.

"Ayumi, what's going on? Tell me, what happened!" Kevin's voice sounded very worried, but it made Ayumi's cry even more, "Don't go anywhere, you hear me? Don't go anywhere and don't do anything stupid! Wait for me, I'll be there now!"

Kevin hung up the phone, as fast as lightning he took his jacket and like a madman he ran out of the practice room. He is currently in his management building rehearsing for their concert in Japan the day after.

"Kevin, where are you going?" His manager asked after seeing the brown-eyed man running towards the exit.

"I'll be back in the morning, I promise!" He replied without stopping his running, he could hear his Manager cursing but he did not care, what he had in mind right now was to be next to the girl as soon as possible. He could feel the suffering his stepbrother was going through. Without thinking, he stopped the taxi and headed for Incheon.

I don't know how long Ayumi cried until she fell asleep but finally the sound of the apartment bell woke her up, slowly she stood up, her eyes frowning from the pain of piercing her head. Holding his head he walked towards the door where someone was twitching his bell impatiently. And his eyes suddenly widened to see a towering tall figure before him who was panting like he had just done a marathon run.

"Ke-vin? What are you doing here at night? Were you evicted by your manager?"

Kevin gawked in disbelief at the question of the woman whose eyes looked swollen from meningis for too long and heard from her hoarse voice as if she had just woken up.

"For God's sake, Ayumi, you made me feel like a crazy person running from Seoul to Busan because I heard you crying as if your life was coming to an end, and now you're asking me why I'm here?" oceh Kevin as he lunged into the apartment and then sat on the light brown sofa in the room.

"I'm sorry,” said Ayumi weakly after realizing what was going on. He was now sitting next to Kevin who was looking at him in full search, whereas he could only bow while bending his face.

"So tell me what happened?" without further ado Kevin immediately asked as he looked at Ayumi asking for an answer, but the girl simply let out a heavy breath. Kevin raised his eyebrows waiting, but again the girl again took a heavy breath.

"You know, I ran like a frenzy here after hearing you cry, I even left my rehearsal schedule for the concert the day after tomorrow. And when I get here you'll just be quiet like that?"

"You're not running, you're definitely riding KTX."

"A plane. Ok forget what ride I came here, but I don't have long, tomorrow I have to go back to Seoul or my Manager will kill me. So we start your story now."

Ayumi took a deep breath before finally starting her story, Kevin was only speechless to hear the girl tell a story, her current condition was already much calmer, even more so, no more heart-wrenching cries though he could still hear from his trembling voice that Ayumi still could not fully accept this reality. Ayumi had finished telling the story and the results were now all around them scattered tissues that the girl used to throw snot and melt her tears, and Kevin could only take a heavy breath looking at it all.

"If you still love her, you should have kept your love up for a long time" Kevin said, giving Ayumi Tissu back.

“But he left me and has become engaged to another woman." Ayumi threw out her snot with a loud voice and threw her kiss away.

"He was a fool, but it was all just a misunderstanding, you should have been able to finish right then and then decide what you would do next instead of hurting each other like this."

"I know, but you know when you think about the feeling of her fiance getting hurt by her fiance leaving. The man was already injured first because he had to leave the person he loved and live life with the woman he did not love at all. Even that woman will now be much hurt by having to live with a man who loves another woman."

As Ayumi slapped her eyes widened in shock at the words of Kevin who was now looking at her with sympathy because he realized it all.

"Now we give it back to you. If you loved a man who didn't love you but loved another woman, wouldn't you be tired? And imagine when you have to marry a man who still loves his ex-lover with all his soul, won't you get hurt?" Kevin felt sorry to see Ayumi who had just realized her mistake.

"Ayumi, I know you're doing that because you don't want to make other women feel the pain you feel because someone you love has left behind. But unknowingly you've made a few people hurt, including you and the doctor."

Ayumi is silent to her stupidity, she should have listened to what Kevin said first to maintain her love if indeed she still loves Erik, but she is too naive, too naive, by just thinking about Yuri's feelings from her point of view without thinking about Erik's feelings as well as her.

"But now that they're getting married, it's really too late."

"It's never too late, have you seen Run away bride? You saw even Julia Robert running away in the last seconds of her wedding."

Ayumi smiled at Kevin's words, "It's just a movie, Kevin."

"Well, if you want, we can kidnap Erik at that time and you can run away together."

Ayumi smiled back at Kevin's plan, but again one of the deepest corners of her heart she couldn't do that, he may live happily with the man he loves but he will feel guilty for the rest of his life and he does not want to live in that feeling.

As if understanding what Ayumi was thinking, Kevin again took a heavy breath his eyes looked at Ayumi softly, "You know, you two are both stupid and stubborn, if I were him and you weren't my sister, I'd kidnap you, take you to a remote island and we'd live together forever there."

Ayumi snorted laughing at Kevin's crazy idea, it was him, the man who ended up always making him laugh under any circumstances.

"Well, should you marry me? You're not even on the family list yet, we have to do it right now before Appa signs you up on the family card."

Ayumi was now actually laughing at Kevin's other crazy idea, "And Appa would die standing when he found out."

'"No, he'll forgive us if we give him a lot of grandchildren, how'd my idea be?"

"Yeah!!! Stop it, you crazy man!" yell Ayumi while laughing.

Kevin is grateful that the girl can finally laugh, even though he knows his heart has not fully recovered and given his personality he knows what decision his sister has taken and he has no right to interfere. He only gave input while the final decision remained the complete right of the round-eyed girl.

"It's very late." Kevin looked at his watch which showed at 2 a.m. "You have to sleep now, otherwise tomorrow morning you'll look like a panda!"

"Yeah!!" Ayumi protested while hitting her arm.

"Or do you want us to make a grandchild for Appa now? So inevitably she will bless our marriage after knowing there's baby Choi in your belly."

""Yeah!!! You pervert!" Ayumi again exclaimed while beating Kevin which made the man cry out for mercy.

"I don't understand how the stupid guys fell in love with this girl" Kevin said after Ayumi stopped her punch while stroking her flushed arm from the attack.

Hearing that Ayumi just laughed, "All right we sleep now, for a while I will bring a pillow and blanket for you," she said as she walked towards the room.

Kevin laid his body on the sofa that looked too short for his tall body, his eyes staring at the ceiling of the modest apartment, his hands folded over his chest, and his eyes on the ceiling, his lips turned a smile remembering what he had just said. Had the girl known the truth and sincerity of his every utterance, had Erik not been the man the girl loved, he would have been just an ordinary man not the son of his father, he said, and many more if he always filled his mind from the first time he met the girl. On a lighthouse set in the sunset of Vancouver, the round-eyed girl had managed to steal his heart.
