Girl In The Winter's

Girl In The Winter's
Chapter 24

The secret place that Kevin spoke of earlier was an exclusive salon where the wealthy Busan took care of their beauty, and after undergoing some time-wasting process, the, this is where Ayumi stood in front of the glass staring at her reflection, her black hair now turned light brown and made a little wavy, with makeup that seemed natural covering the dark circles of her eyes due to lack of sleep, she looks more fresh and beautiful, with a simple dress and high heel, complete already the new appearance of the girl. From cute girl and nerd turned into a beautiful girl who is graceful and elegant.

"Wow, who now has turned into a beautiful goose?" Said Kevin with sparkling eyes full of pride staring at Ayumi who looked timid.

"So I've been an ugly duckling all this time?" Ask by pretending to pout.

"No, of course you're not an ugly duckling." You ugly goose."

"Well!" Ayumi cried with a laugh, and with a smile on her lips, they left the place with a grocery bag that filled Kevin's hand, without Ayumi knowing when she was in the make over, her brother went to the boutique downstairs and bought her some clothes, bags and shoes.

They resumed the journey that night by walking on the beach, Kevin had put on his hat and mask back complete with his gray hoodi jacket.

"You look like a criminal." Ayumi said as she observed the appearance of her half-brother.

"You forgot I'm famous now? Everyone now recognized me as a handsome halyu idol," Ayumi snorted with a laugh at Kevin praising herself, "Ayumi, there's something I need to talk to you about." Kevin suddenly stopped walking and looked at Ayumi seriously which made the girl raise her eyebrows.

"What's wrong?" Ask with curiosity.

At first Kevin did not want to tell Ayumi about the gossip that was circulating on the internet, but he had to give a warning in advance if there are things that are not desirable to happen, he said, and it is certain that journalists have now crowded in front of their hospitals and homes, and Kevin does not want to make Ayumi experience bad things without preparation. So Kevin decided to tell the whole story without covering up even the slightest bit about the decision he had been thinking about keeping their status a secret for now.

"It's up to you, if you want me to announce our family status, I'll gladly tell everyone you're my sister, but maybe you'll lose your privacy and your every move will be in everyone's spotlight."

Kevin looked at the speechless Ayumi and saw that he felt very guilty for giving the girl new problems in life, "If you don't want that to happen, that's why, you just need to entrust this matter to me and the agency, we will clear up the matter. But, maybe in the next few days you'll be a little distracted by fans and journalists. So it all depends on your decision, Ayumi."

Ayumi was still speechless thinking about the problems caused only by having lunch together with her own brother, what was wrong with that?

"I'm sorry, I should've been more careful and didn't take you out to lunch in an open space like a hospital garden."

"No, it's not our fault, Kevin. People tend to draw conclusions from just what they see or hear without knowing about what actually happened." Ayumi looked into Kevin's brown eyes before turning her gaze to the vast sea that looked dark despite the glittering lights of the city on its outskirts.

"We can't avoid this much longer, because your good name is at stake."

"No, don't think about me. For now I can still take care of myself, but what I'm worried about is you, because I won't always be around you to protect you."

Ayumi smiled, her black eyes looking gently at Kevin's brown eyes that looked anxious, in her heart she was grateful because God was still kind enough to send someone like Kevin who was always there for her.

"Listen to me, I'll be fine. All I have to do in the next few days is avoid your reporters and your fans. I'm just gonna put on a mask and a hat like you do." Kevin snorted with a smile at Ayumi's words, "After all, haven't I turned into a beautiful goose? So no one else will recognize me," continued Ayumi reassured her half-sister that she will be fine.

For a moment Kevin was silent in Ayumi's confident eyes, "So you don't want me to tell them about our relationship status?"

"No, I don't want my hobby of eating food at a roadside stall disturbed by people staring and photographing me" Ayumi said with a smile.

Kevin nodded his head in agreement, "Alright then I will contact the agency and immediately conduct a press conference. You take it easy because we have a reliable PR, he can solve this problem easily."

Ayumi laughs to understand who the man's PR is, he is Rama Ayumi's younger brother who since the first meeting with Kevin immediately became the number one fan, he sought a scholarship in Seoul only to be closer to his idol, and because of his ability to communicate in several languages he was accepted as a PR at the agency where Kevin was based.

"So this is the problem that made the boy call me and forbid me from opening the internet, and get out of the house?" Ayumi smiled considering how her sister had warned her not to open the internet.

"He called you?"

"Yes in the salon."

"You know he even threatened me, if something happened to you he would stop being my no 1 fan and turn into a Super Junior Heechul fan, so that he could ask that senior of mine to scold and annoy me for life."

Ayumi laughs at the story of Rama who threatens her, that is his sister who can always make the atmosphere cheerful, in contrast to her fairly closed self, Rama has an open nature, Rama has an open nature, he will say whatever is on his mind, he is so cute that he can easily make friends with anyone, which is why it is so easy to like a Cindy Ramadita, other than because of her beauty, she is good at getting along and also very good, she is very easy to cry even if only watching cartoons.

"I have to go back to Seoul, to set up a press conference."

"Later tonight."

"So fast?"

"The sooner we settle this, the better."

Ayumi nodded in agreement, "Alright, please be careful and. Take care of Rama for me."

Kevin nodded, "Surely! You're also careful, there's no need to worry about your sister because many will happily look after her" Kevin said with a smile, "What I'm worried about is who will take care of you as long as I'm not around?"

Ayumi smiled trying to calm the man who was looking at her wistfully, "Not to worry, I can take care of myself, I can survive in the country alone for years, and now all I have to do is hang on for a few days while waiting for you and Rama to clear things up."

Kevin was silent for a while, thinking about what his step-sister said was indeed true, the girl was a strong girl but Ayumi did not yet know what kind of thing a fanatic fanatic could do to her, but on the other hand he also had to return to Seoul to settle the matter.

"Well, but I beg you for a few days can you please let me go to the hospital first?"

"Kevin, that's impossible."

"Listen to me, there must be a lot of reporters and fans crowded in front of the Hospital."

"Tonight I'm allowed to sleep in the apartment, and tomorrow morning I'm going to the hospital. Look, maybe the Hospital is the safest place for me because there's a lot of people and they definitely won't let the daughter of the Hospital chief get hurt, unless they want to get fired."

Kevin thought about Ayumi's words, and this time the girl was right, the fans wouldn't dare to hurt her because there were too many witnesses and their father wouldn't let anyone hurt his children.

"Alright, I'll call Appa before returning to Seoul and tell him about what happened. But if anything happens to you, I'll call me or I swear I'll kill anyone who dares to hurt you even if it's just a hair," kevin said earnestly and made Ayumi nod her head in agreement only to calm the man's heart before her at this moment.

As Kevin expected, the next morning when he arrived in front of the Hospital the reporters and fans were already crowding the place. Ayumi did not expect that all she had only seen in the drama now she experienced it directly, and it was creepy. Clenching his hands he exhaled heavily, "Fighting!" Ayumi excited herself before she walked towards her place of work.

He put his white scarf up to cover his nose, and began to move quickly, his chest pounding violently after taking a close look at the number of people swarming around, the writings and screams of the teenagers who asked him out as if deafening, the reporters on the other hand ready with their respective cameras.

He kept walking hoping that none of them would recognize himself by his new appearance, his heart was racing as the distance got closer, he tried to walk as normally as possible even though his body was shaking violently, his eyes looked around looking anxious, several times he exhaled behind his shawl just to reduce the nervousness and fear that spread throughout the body.

He continued walking while looking down, his heart racing faster and faster, only a few meters left when his eyes collided with the eyes of one of the teenage fans who was carrying cardboard paper with insults, coldness running through the body, his heart stopped beating for a few seconds when he heard the girl scream.

"THAT'S IT!"

His body froze, his eyes widened as in just a matter of seconds the crowd ran towards him, the flash of camera blitz of the reporters with various questions and the cries of the fans blaspheming him melded into one. Like forgetting how to run Ayumi just stood still, frightened as if strangling herself, the cold became increasingly run from the spine to the nape, her face paled.

They started throwing them with various things, drink cans, used bottles, eggs and flour. A can of soda still full of his head until the contents gushed out, as the ice water slowly began to come back logic, his legs now began to walk backwards when he saw they were only a few meters away in front of him, his chest rose and fell, his body trembling.

"Run stupid!" his common sense gave the order, he prepared to execute the command when a jacket covered his head so that he could see nothing and suddenly a sturdy arm pulled him into a warm embrace.

"What did you do to him!" He shouted with a cold voice full of anger and made everyone now freeze as well as Ayumi who was in his arms.

"Ahjushi, you don't interfere, leave him to us!" Shouted one of the brave teenagers who ignited the courage of the others.

"You! Whatis yourname? Did your parents know they had a son of a criminal?" He asked in a growling voice that made the teenager stutter, "You don't have to tell them, because the police are going to tell all of you" he continued, leaving them all dumbstruck, "Didn't you see that CCTV?" He asked as he tagged with his head towards the surveillance cameras, "That would be sufficient evidence to punish all of you." The threat that makes the teenagers more deathly pale even though the look of anger still fills their eyes.

"And you," Kevin now looked at the crowd of reporters who were taking his picture, "If I read the news no-no and harm us, I will sue you all!" With a growling voice, everyone now looked at each other and began to walk backwards, "Now I ask you to disperse, before I call the police!"

Slowly the crowd began to disperse. He opened the jacket that covered Ayumi's head and then draped it over the girl's shoulder, "You okay?" He asked softly, his hands tidying up Ayumi's messy hair, his eyes were filled with anger when he saw how pale the girl before him was at the moment, and a bejolan was adorning his forehead. Without warning he first held the frail body of the girl in his arms and then with long steps began to walk into the Hospital without regard to the gazes of those who accompanied his steps.
