Black Swan's
The Olivia Giving Birth Story (Ninety Seven)

Olivia Pov's

I trudged into the lobby of the hospital in downtown Vegas. The weather was enough this morning

it was bright, probably because it was already in spring. The moon passed so quickly, and my gestational age had already reached the ninth month. And today I'm going to check my womb to ask about birth preparation. I was so nervous waiting for her, this was my first pregnancy. And I want the best for my son. It's a shame my husband can't keep me company. I hope that during childbirth my husband will be next to me. However, it seems like it is an impossible thing. Actually, I also do not really understand what he did all this time outside the house. But as a good wife, I will always trust my husband and keep this marriage going.

I waited at the elevator door bored. This morning the atmosphere in the hospital was crowded. The sound of the wheel of a blangkar that had just passed in front of me gave me a little goosebumps, no matter what. Maybe it was because I had thought of bad things in my head, despite the fact that the cage was empty and a nurse only wanted to move her to the emergency room near the main door.

This season is so warm and beautiful, and I don't think there will be many people who get sick this season.

But surely God has a more beautiful plan for those who are sick. As the elevator clinks, I see a crowd of people coming out crammed from inside the elevator. I slide a little of my body away from the elevator door, I know enough myself if my current body shape is no longer as slender as it used to be. A man flashed in front of me just like that and accidentally nudged my body. I was about to hit the wall, but a hand suddenly held my body so that my stomach would not hit the wall beside me hard. I looked up and wanted to say thank you to a kind man who helped me, but I was surprised by the sad look he showed me.

Nathan...

Flashbacks

Dugm!

            “Aw!”

“Mma sorry.” I exclaimed nervously at someone I just hit, even that person was also hit by a blow from my baton as I swung it slowly to make sure that the road in front of me was empty. Guiltfully I tried to approach the man while extending my hand forward so that I could feel his face.

“Are you hurt sir? Again forgive me, I did not mean to hurt you.”

I feel like the man didn't return my apology. But I could feel his warm breath in my still faithful hand perched on his face.

            “Lain times please be careful.”

The man lowered my hand that was not completely stuck from his face and exclaimed coldly. Suddenly the feeling of tightness came to me and made my tears just drip from my eyes. This blindness left me with an overly fragile heart, and a deeply disturbing sense of insecurity.

I always feel like I'm the most miserable woman in the world whenever someone else blames me for the mistake I actually made because of my limited vision.

“Why cry, are you one of the patients here?”

I nodded faintly still with tears that had not been able to completely stop from my eyes. My God, how long will I cry in front of this man?

“Have not cried. Sorry if I was too rude. What's your name?”

            “Olivia.”

“My name is Nathan, nice to meet you.”

Flashback end

I remember the first time I met Nathan at this hospital all those years ago. Actually it could not be called a meeting, because in fact at that time I accidentally hit his foot with the aluminum stick that I used to help me walk in the middle of the darkness that always surrounded me. But because of that event we became close, and then we decided to make a friendship.

“Hey, you are still careless. Change a little of your bad habits.”

Nathan's nagging made me come back to the real world. I seem to be too fond of reminiscing about our funny past.

“I'm sorry.” I whispered slowly. I knew I was wrong, so I would neither argue nor defend myself in front of him.

“Come! I'll take you to Laila's doctor's office. I'm worried about your reckless nature. I hope your son will be fine despite having a mother as reckless as you.”

Huft. This is what I hate most about Nathan. He loves to scold me, even though I know

the goal is good. But why should he bring my baby-to-be into this conversation. And this time I will try to ignore it, even though my mouth feels itchy to reply to all the spicy words that come out of his mouth.

“Hey, why shut up? You angry?” Nathan stopped his steps and turned his head towards me. But I'm still silent and still don't want to open my voice. Let him talk to the wall, I don't care! I saw he was going to open his mouth again, but someone called him from behind and looked hurried.

“Doctor Nathan, there is a patient who needs you immediately in the operating room.” said the nurse hastily.

The nurse said it while running. I saw the name tag, she's called Alice. A beautiful name, in accordance with her goddess-like appearance. Then Nathan said see you and left with the nurse. There was a strange feeling that infiltrated my heart. And I began to wonder, was that nurse Nathan's new lover? They look good, I think. But never mind, it's none of my business. I had to see Laila's doctor immediately to ask what things I should prepare for at the time of delivery.

Slowly knock on a door with a sign that says Doctor Laila. After hearing the answer from inside, I immediately opened the door and went inside. The first thing I saw when I entered this room was the figure of Doctor Laila who had stretched her hand out in front of me. Since when did he stand there?

“Olive how are you, long time no see you!” girang hail. Laila hugged me very tightly, though,

made me short of breath and slightly cough in his arms. Does he not realize that my stomach is not in deflating mode, making it more difficult for me to breathe.

“Laila I can't breathe.” my grunts are upset. Then she immediately took off her embrace and rolled me towards the sofa for guests.

“How are you doing? Do you feel any sign?” the tank while giving me a glass of orange juice.

“Thanks. No, I haven't felt any signs of giving birth. I just feel always sore and indeed the position of my baby has been getting down.” explained me while drinking the orange juice given.

“Oh that is a natural thing. So you just calm down. By the way did you meet Nathan?”

“Ya, and he actually nagged me while in front of the elevator.” I replied back. It seemed like my mood immediately turned bad when I remembered that.

“What's up? Do you still fight often just because of a small problem?” asked Laila excitedly.

A fight? Laila's words made me remember something.

Flashbacks

Today I got a flower order from a guy who was going to propose to his girlfriend. Since early in the morning Madam Han has been busy preparing the design of the series that she will make with me. He said the customer this time was very special because the man was an up-and-coming actor. The actor? Hearing that name made me only able to chuckle to myself. Since my eyes were damaged, I never watched television. I just hear from the people around me about good-looking actors or beautiful actresses.

“You can drive him to the David Copperfield Theatre building at MGM grand hotel?”

“I think I can, never hesitate to ask me to deliver all your flower orders, madam Han.”, I said gently to her. Then we got back busy arranging the flowers quickly because the time left was no longer much. And after more than forty minutes of struggling with the flowers, we were finally able to finish a large flower arrangement with the words will you marry me. It felt really romantic, and one day I was eager to get a romantic proposal.

“Quickly deliver this flower to the David Copperfield Theatre building! It's money to pay for the taxi.” Madame Han put a hundred dollar bill over my palm, and after that she left me to work on another flower arrangement.

“What is this only to bring?”

The taxi driver asked me while lifting up the large bouquet of lilies. I nodded at a glance and immediately followed the taxi driver to his car.

            “Teater David Copperfield, please.”

I faintly saw the taxi driver nod and he immediately drove his car to my destination.

Hmm. of the many workplaces I've tried, only the flower house belongs to Madame Han.

it really makes me feel at home. There Madam Han treated me well, treated me like a human, and not a low-level worker. Every afternoon Madam Han also always gave me lunch with a decent meal, so I could save my money to do the eye surgery I was supposed to do in the near future. I felt really bad every time I came to Dr. Hermes, he kept asking me to do the surgery, even the doctor was willing to lend me the money so I could do the surgery. But I certainly don't want to bother him. With her countless kindnesses, I no longer want to trouble that kind-hearted doctor. Doctor Hermes never charged a dime when I treated him. Sometimes he also gave me free medicine even though I had tried to pay for it many times.

            “It's up miss.”

I nodded slowly and asked the taxi driver to help me lift the bouquet inside. The man who ordered the bouquet should have been waiting in the loby because Madame Han told me that before I left here.

in front of me looks up and shaped steps. The sound of my almunium wand clashing against the ceramic floor sounded quite noisy in the midst of the silent atmosphere I felt. This building should be crowded because the theater here is one of the elite buildings that are usually only intended for high-class people.

Dugs

“Aw!” I grimaced softly while clenching my palms that felt pulsating. Just now my foot had tripped over my own wand as it swung back because of my careless hands. Then I was sitting between the steps of the stairs with a pain that felt so bad in both hands. This pain really made my head dizzy because I fell hard enough without anyone helping me.

            “You all right?”

“Ee. Just a little bit of pain.” I said to someone whose face I could not see clearly because the man was bowing his head in front of me. He seemed to be trying to check my palm which he said was slightly flushed after the embarrassing incident earlier.

            “You should be careful, miss.”

            “What we have met before?”

I tried to narrow my eyes at my helper who had just helped me to stand up, because I felt familiar with her voice. Even the kind-hearted man also helped to retrieve my wand that had previously been thrown away somewhere.

“Of course. I'm Nathan, do you remember?”

Nathan's? I am no stranger to that name.

“Doctor Nathan?” I'm not sure. Not funny if it turns out I was wrong and it seems pretentious.

“Hmm... Which one do you think Nathan is again? Why do you always fall? Basic sloppy!”

I gritted my forehead in annoyance and snatched my wand from his hands a little rough because I was annoyed at him. “Thanks. But I never wanted this either! Blame those bad guys who have got both my eyes broken.” I said half-screaming before passing away leaving him with a limped step.

Flashback end

            “Olive, are you daydreaming?”

I felt a very strong shock hit my body. Then I turned my head and found Laila's worried-looking face next to mine.

“I'm fine. Just remembered an old incident.” I said with a smile. I used to see Nathan's doctor a lot because he often caught me doing carelessness or falling. But after that incident he no longer spied on me with a cynical tone. He felt guilty for me, and he apologized to me when I went to the hospital to see Dr. Hermes.

“Really? If you feel anything, tell me. Because my feelings say you will

giving birth today. But that's just my feeling, so don't think too much about it.” said Laila as she flicked her hand in front of her face.

“No, I don't think so yet. And again, today his father is going to Texas. Who would accompany me if

I'm going to give birth. Don't you feel sorry for me if I am ignored by my husband at all times. She's just busy with her papers when she's at home.” Peculanku.

“How else, he's a very important man in his office. You think it's easy to set up a financial system in a giant company like that? The responsibility is huge. But I'm sure he loves you very much.”

Laila said that with a fiery voice, as if she knew my husband very well. But I don't feel that way at all. How could a husband only ever take his wife to check the contents three times, that he did not take me home. he just leave me to our private driver who he deliberately called to pick me up home.

Now we do have a private driver because Sian is very busy in his office, whereas I can't drive myself. Be now I always go anywhere with Mr. Zack. It was fortunate that Mr. Zack was a middle-aged man with a playful personality who was very cool to chat with. Mr. Zack always recounted the life of his daughter's son who was so prosperous in his village because they had strawberry plantations and apple plantations that were very fertile. One day maybe I will take Eden there because Eden and Ciara really like strawberries.

“Hey, I think you daydream more today.” Laila nudged my arm and I heard there was an annoyed tone from her voice.

“Sorry, I was thinking a lot.”

“What? You think of your husband?”

“Not, I thought of doctor Nathan.” I said calmly as I looked at Laila's slightly surprised face in front of me.

            “Nathan? Ck, why Nathan?”

            “Because I want.”

“By the way what about your married life? You're happy, right?” manyu chuckle. I used to love flirting with Laila about her married life because she and her husband were the most ridiculous couple of all time. Laila who was so serious and happy to nag had a husband who was so relaxed, even sometimes the man underestimated the important things around him. Of course it makes Laila anxious to her husband to make him often nagging vague when contacting me.

“Very happy! Ck, why did you ask me that, while this morning we just had a fight.”

“What else? Cat trouble?” I couldn't hide my laughter when I remembered her silly argument last week that made Laila unwilling to go home. Laila's husband likes cats. And the man became more maniacal with the cat until he decided to adopt three cats at once from the house of captivity. While Laila herself has always hated cats because she once got a cat scratch while in an orphanage.

“For God's sake, Olive! I dumped those cats yesterday.”

“Are you crazy? You threw it away?”

“Ya, I threw it away.” replied Laila proudly. I just shook my head inexhaustibly at his reckless deeds. I can imagine how upset Laila's husband's face was when faced with his wife's miraculous behavior.

“I've told him that I'm going to throw away his cats when they act out. And sure enough, yesterday he ruined my favorite couch. So I directly asked the cook at my house to throw it away.” the story is proud. Alright, I won't comment too much with the story because I guess I should go home soon to prepare the Sian lunch menu.

“I'm going home, thank you for your time. I feel relieved after visiting you.”

“Be careful on the road, pregnant women.” said Laila while hugging me.

-00-

I walked back to the elevator. Fortunately, the elevator wasn't as full as it was when I arrived. So I do not need to jostle like that until I have to be extra careful so that my distended stomach is not squeezed. But less than a step away I stepped in, I felt my stomach ache and was contracting. Is this the time? I was really panicked. I could only look down and hold my stomach. A janitor and some nurses helped me walk into the delivery room. When I was in great pain, I saw him. Came with a panicked face and immediately carried me towards the delivery room.

“Olive, survive! Fight for your baby.” Nathan said with a panicked face.

            “Nath, this hurts.”

I unconsciously grabbed Nathan's arm, which was holding me to the delivery room. He then ran to Laila's room after carefully placing me on the cage that had just been prepared by a nun.

“Pair the infusion and prepare everything, I will immediately call my wife here.”

Amidst the pain I felt, I could still laugh amusedly at the panic-stricken Nathan. He was not my husband, and we knew him at first because he felt sorry for me. But the world is too narrow. I finally became friends with Nathan and found out that Nathan was the husband of Laila, my childhood friend at the orphanage.

“Yes God, Olive! I just thought if you were going to give birth today.”

“Already, hurry please Olivia! Don't talk too much.” Nathan said ferociously next to him. I laughed again at the silly couple while giving Nathan a code to get closer.

            “What's up, Olive?”

“First I want to thank you for worrying about me.” ringisku slowly.

This contraction slowly produced such excruciating pain that my breathing felt so short as to endure this pain for longer. “To two, please tell Sian if I'm going to give birth before she leaves for Texas at one later.”

“You rest easy, I'll drag your husband here right now. Fight for your baby, Olive.” I smiled slightly and nodded faintly amidst the pain that was still raining down on my stomach. So this is what it's like to give birth and be a mother? Oh my God, this is so painful and painful.

“Olive, it's time to push baby. Get ready to welcome your beautiful baby” said Laila excitedly in front of me.
