Another Story of Us (One Hundred Twenty)

            Nathan rubbed his face riled up while observing the clockwork of the wall that had since been a slow terrace for him. An hour ago, Laila was treated by a doctor, and Laila is currently undergoing surgery to remove the fetus in her stomach. But he didn't know how Laila was doing right now. Is Laila feeling sick, and will Laila survive the amount of blood that the woman has shed since?

            “Nathan.”      

            Nathan rose from his seat as an elderly doctor exited the operating room removing his headgear and gloves with several patches of blood on them.

            “Is everything going smoothly, doctor Wilblood?” nathan asked with concern. The old doctor, who was a senior doctor at the hospital, patted Nathan on the shoulder for a moment to strengthen Nathan before he started speaking.

            “I have taken out baby Laila and the baby is currently in the incubator, but I can't confirm Laila's condition yet because we had to monitor her condition for twenty-four hours to see how Laila developed after I had surgery. May God give his best to Laila, and also your cute son. He looks handsome like you.” said doctor Wilblood with a smile.

            After the old doctor died, Nathan immediately sat on a waiting chair with a limp body. Laila is currently in a critical period and she does not know what will happen after that if Laila does not manage to survive.

            “Arghhhhh!”

            Nathan hit the wall next to him with a feeling of chaos and despair. A group of nurses who came out of the operating room while carrying their children did not care about Nathan at all. Right now the ones inside his head were only Laila, Laila, and Laila! Only that name has since continued to circle there without stopping to make him dizzy.

            “Doctor Nathan, do you want to see your baby?”

            “No, just take him to the baby room. I'll see it after I feel better.” reject Nathan subtly with a sad and frustrated face. The nurse nodded her small head and immediately passed away feeling sad. He was concerned about the situation of Nathan and his son who currently looked like he was ignored by his parents. But the nurse quickly got rid of her negative thoughts from inside her head because she knew how devastated Nathan was when she found out that Laila was in a critical condition.

            “We have been in the same condition.” Eden comments on the sidelines of Laila's story. The woman who likes to interrupt, but does not like if others interrupt it gets a sharp gaze from Laila who will just continue the story again.

            “Sounds like she doesn't like you interrupting her story.” Olivia's amused comments when she sees the irritated look imprinted on Laila's tired face. Understandably the woman felt tired, her very active son had messed up the entire villa with his very bar-bar attitude. Even after dinner, she again throws up Justice until the little girl cries because her milk bottle was forcibly snatched by Hyena.

            “Sorry, you can continue your story again.” said Eden grimaced small. He took his belly several times to hide his nervousness. Aciel who saw that immediately approached Eden and brought the woman's head to lean on her shoulder.

            “I know you're getting tired.” whispered Aciel understandingly.

            “Ehem.. It looks like next time we have to listen to your version of the love story, Ed.”

            Eden looked at Laila with a frowning forehead, then he immediately shook his head violently while moving his index finger to the right and to the left. “Everyone here has even been a living witness to how complicated my story and Aciel are, so I don't need to tell you anymore.” Eden's reply was triumphant. “Already, just continue your story. This time I will not interrupt again.” said Eden full of promise.

            Nathan stroked his little son's chubby cheek gently, which was currently drinking milk greedily in his baby box. Now the condition of his son is much better and no longer need to be in the incubator. But unfortunately Laila's condition still remains the same. Since ten days ago Laila was still lying stiff on her bed with a pale face that was very sad. Several times Lucas also comes to console Nathan and strengthen Nathan so that the man does not despair of Laila's unpredictable condition.

            “Darling, when are you going to open your eyes and meet our handsome son? We miss you.” whispered Nathan raucously as he held Hyena in his arms. Hyena squirmed quietly in her father's arms while yawning widely after finishing her bottle of milk. Nathan decides to put Hyena in her baby box again because her little son seems to be falling asleep again.

            “Laila, when are you going to open your eyes. I was really frustrated and always worried about your situation in the hospital. I'm afraid you'll leave me and Hyena.”

            Nathan stroked Laila's pale hands and kissed her softly full of feeling. During these ten days he always spent his days crying over Laila and praying for her recovery. But somehow he felt God took too long to grant his prayers. Though he had spent his days just to say a prayer so that Laila would recover and be aware.

            “Lai, today I found this in my pants pocket. Thinking too long about your situation made me forget that I had prepared this for you long ago. Laila, I know that I'm not a good man to you. I'm a jerk, I'm a bad guy, and I'm**** because I used to waste you as my wife. But now that I can't wait any longer, I want you to wear this ring and marry me. I mean it with my words to make you happy and to make amends for all my mistakes. I want to fix everything Lai, I want to start over. Laila, wake up and marry me. Even though you have rejected my proposal many times, but I will not give up so easily.

To me your rejection is a source of passion for me. And I'm so grateful for the kindness of your heart that I let me play a good father-to-be while you were pregnant, even though I couldn't do it well. I again dragged you into an endless and painful suffering like this. I'm sorry that I ignored your request to ignore Charlie, and I'm sorry that I always bore such a deep wound in your heart.” Nathan said with tears flooding his face. The man tucked the back of Laila's hand once more and slipped a small diamond ring on Laila's thin ring finger.

Tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiietttttttttt

            The loud sound of the cardiograph made Nathan look up in panic as he stared at the monitor in disbelief.

            “No no no! You can't go Laila! Or I will hate you for life for leaving me and our child!” nathan raved to himself like a man of doom. Nathan was about to go out to ask the nurse to help him install a heart shock device, but suddenly his footsteps came to a halt when he felt his wrist being blocked by someone.

            “Nathan, don't go.”

            The soft voice that he missed so much made Nathan unable to move anywhere and just stuck in place without daring to flip his body. He feared that the voice was only part of his illusions that were misleading.  

            “Nathan, don't you miss me?”

            “La Laila...” murmured Nathan slowly. Instantly Nathan immediately turned around and hugged Laila tightly when he saw Laila who was smiling at him realistically.

            “Laila.. kkau... y-you're okay?” nathan asked stammeredly. Laila nodded her head and spread her arms to hug Nathan.

Duarr!!

            “Congratulations Nath, you've managed to prove to Laila that you're a decent guy to keep her company until the end.”

            “You? I don't understand.” Nathan said like a fool. Laila and Lucas were laughing at each other with a very annoying look on their faces.

            “Actually Laila had not been in a coma, after her operation was completed, Laila immediately regained consciousness an hour later. But at that time you were out to buy coffee. Then we have an idea to test you.” bright Lucas is relaxed and sinless. Meanwhile Nathan looked like a dumb daze. He felt that he had been cheated by his best friend and also the woman he loved so much.

            “So... all this time I was just a victim of fraud for your ignorant act?” nathan asked in disbelief with his voice rising by several octaves. Laila immediately warns Nathan to turn down his voice as Hyena is sleeping.

            “Nathan! Shrink your voice.”

            “Lai... So all this time you've been tricking me? It's great! You guys are really great drama players.”

            Nathan appears to ignore Laila's warning and looks set to explode as he is irritated by the fake play played by Laila and Lucas. Though for the last ten days he always cried over the condition of Laila and worried about Laila's safety because the woman did not come to her senses from her coma. But he can now be just an annoying fact if now he has been tricked by those two damn creatures.

            “Nath, this was all my idea. I asked Lucas to do it because I wanted to know your sincerity.”

            “What has my attention been less than showing my seriousness to you? Even many times I was willing to humiliate my pride just to thwart your marriage. Is all that not enough to prove my sincerity?” nathan was angry. Laila exhaled slowly and tried to string the words together so that Nathan would not get angry with him, because what he did was indeed too much. He shouldn't have used a death joke to prove Nathan's sincerity whether he really loved him or not.

            “Nathan, once again I'm sorry if this is all outrageous, but I just want to see the seriousness of your heart more clearly. As long as I pretend to be in a coma I see the real you. And now I'm absolutely sure you're not the Nathan you used to be, though, who's always busy working day and night just to prove to my father and foster mother that you're the man I deserve. Nathan, I'm willing to be your wife back.” Laila ends with a sweet smile on her face.

            Nathan immediately hugged Laila tightly with a cheerful face and full of relief. Finally, the wait has paid off. Finally, the happiness promised by God was plastered in front of his eyes.

            “As soon as you recover, we will get married.”

            “Hmm, I can't wait to wear a beautiful and expensive dress.” said Laila Jahil while glancing mischievously at Nathan. The man slowly brought his face closer to Laila to kiss the pink lips that had always been tightly closed in silence.

            Suddenly a sofa cushion floated high and landed right above Nathan's head.

            “Lucas!!” nathan's annoyed shout was accompanied by the sound of booming laughter from Laila's lips.

            “You can't do it yet.” said Lucas loudly and immediately ran away avoiding Nathan's pursuit that would hit him in the face.

            After Lucas left, Nathan walked quickly to Laila and without warning the man immediately scooped Laila's lips greedily.

            “After we get married, don't expect you to escape my punishment.” grin Nathan cunningly in the middle of their kiss that makes Laila shudder in horror.

            “Hoaamm Eden cried out softly with a hoarse voice because of the drowsiness that had mastered it. The woman repeatedly rubbed her watery eyes due to the drowsiness that had mastered it. Even her two squad mates, Jessica and Olivia, had already fallen asleep peacefully on the shoulders of their respective husbands.

            “Come sleep. Wake them.” said Aciel gave the code to Sian and Kriss. “And you're pregnant, can you stand?” aciel asked as she felt Eden never standing from her seat.

            “Kakiku tingling.” whining spoiled Eden. Laila who saw it just rolled her eyes lazy, and she then chose to enter first into the house because she wanted to take water to wet her super dry throat after telling her story.

            “Nath, I loved your heroic attitude back then. You're sweet.” praise Eden before Nathan walks in following his wife. The man then smiled clumsyly, rubbed his nape that was not itchy, then gave the code to Eden to enter the house first.

            “Did he just feel shy in front of me?” kekeh Eden ticklish. “Ace, carry me! I really can't walk.”

            “Ck, troubling.”

            But in the end, Aciel kept his wife in their room, even though the man was grumbling because Eden was getting heavier.
