(May) I Fall in Love

(May) I Fall in Love
Nevan's departure

Sander's family dinner ended a few hours ago. After the ritual is finished, the clock has now shown at midnight. It was time for Haura to rest her crumbling body tired of the activities throughout the day.

“Bu, Haura sleeps first, yes,” said goodbye to Haura to her mother when they just entered their residence.

“Iya, son. Thanks yes, all day you must be tired of helping Mom,” replied Bu Lastri with a clean slit. Really, he felt kasian with his daughter because he had to work hard to help his work.

“Kok thanks anyway, Mom. It's Haura's duty to help Mom. Lagian Haura is happy to help you with your work.”

“It should be at your age, you can enjoy adolescence like your friends. But you're even struggling with housework. Sorry yes, son, I can't give you the best.” Now Bu Lastri's voice sounded vibrating withstanding the cry as she spoke. Really, she was eager to see Haura be happy like any other teenager. But what he can do. Since the death of her husband, Bu Lastri had to try to meet the needs of both of them.

As a result, Haura had to miss out on a pleasant adolescence. Although actually Haura did not bother about it. Still, as a parent Bu Lastri felt very sad to see his daughter. There was a sense of guilt because Haura had to bear the burden that she had not yet felt.

“Bu, this is the best life for Haura. Although Haura can't be like other friends, Haura is happy. Haura has Mom, can hug Mom, can be spoiled with Mom. It was more than anything. So you don't have to be sad. Because Haura is very happy.” Haura was clear to her mother.

There was a clear liquid that began to appear in the corner of Bu Lastri's eyes because he heard the words of his son, Haura.

"Haura is sure that someday our lives will be better. Haura will be proud of Mom and Dad." added Haura and hugged her mother.

"Yes son, I'm also sure that someday, you'll be a great person."

"Aamiin.." The mother and daughter laughed together.

"Yes, you slept there. Tomorrow you have to go to school" said Miss Lastri.

"One more time, tomorrow morning you don't have to help me. You rest enough, because you're tired all day."

"But Ma'am..."

"Mom doesn't accept buts. This time can not be bargained," interrupted Bu Lastri.

"Yes, ma'am" replied Haura. Then he hugged his mother. "Haura sleeps first yes, Mom," said Haura again to her mother and Miss Lastri gave a kiss on her two cheeks.

...****************...

Although time had shown past midnight, Haura was still unable to close her eyes. The girl looked very agitated. It has been an hour since she tried to sleep. For some reason, his eyes betrayed him so much tonight.

"Huff...." Haura exhaled heavily. His eyes looked at the ceiling of his room that was painted white.

"Why am I nervous?" ask him to yourself.

"Nevan," he murmured again.

"You, how are you? what's wrong if I miss you?" Haura continues to monologue with herself.

His first meeting with Nevan a few hours ago was the reason why until midnight his eyes could not be closed.

The teenage girl's mind glared at the time ten years ago when she last met Nevan.

The Flashback

A very handsome little boy was standing in the courtyard of a luxurious mansion. His face looks very agitated. His brown-colored eye beads continued to pay attention to the direction of the main gate. It was obvious that the little boy was waiting for someone to come.

"Nevan, what are you doing, son?" there was a voice of an adult man asking the little boy.

That little boy is Nevan. He was waiting for the arrival of his best friend, Haura. It had been over an hour of her waiting for Haura who had never appeared to her.

"Nevan, hurry, son. It's time for you to leave, Grandma has been waiting for you since," Mr. Liam called back Nevan who was still unmoved from his place.

"Pa, can it be over in a minute? Nevan is waiting for Haura" Nevan asked her Papa with a pleading face that was adorable.

Hearing his youngest son's request, Mr. Liam raised next to his eyebrows. Remembering the name Nevan mentioned. "Son, you'll miss your flight" Liam told Nevan to hurry to leave.

"A little while now, Pa. Nevan please, "please ask expectantly for her Papa to give her permission.

"Yes Pa. Nevan promised." Nevan's eyes returned to the gate.

"Haura must have come, right?" nevan asks Zayn who just joined him.

"Haura promised Nevan that she would come today" the boy's voice seemed to cry.

"Haura must have come. I'm sure," replied Zayn. Then his gaze turned to the object held by Nevan, a small rectangular object. More like a gift. "What are you that pengang?"

"Gift to Haura" Nevan said briefly.

"You can leave it to your sister. Let it be brother who will give it to Haura," Zayn bargained because he saw that their Papa was already impatiently waiting.

At that time Zayn did not depart with Nevan and their grandma to Sydney. Because he was going to Sydney with his Papa after the Papa finished taking care of Zayn's school move to Sydney and taking care of some of his business that had a little problem. Therefore, Zayn and his father will leave for Sydney next week. Nevan and Grandma will go first.

"Nevan does not want to, brother, Nevan wants to love Haura directly," Nevan refused because he wanted him to give the gift directly to his friend.

After a while of waiting, Haura finally appeared with her father, Pak Hamzah. Haura looks beautiful with her hair in two pigtails. A smile was given to Nevan to show several rows of milk teeth that have been dated.

Little Nevan greeted Haura happily.

Mr. Hamzah passed by leaving Haura with Nevan to help put some suitcases in the car. On that day, Mr. Hamzah was not on duty to escort Mrs Anna and Nevan to the airport because of his poor condition. However, because Haura continued to cry to meet Nevan, it was forced that Mr. Hamzah obeyed the princess' desire to visit Mr. Liam's house.

"Nevan really wants to go?" little Haura asked her best friend.

Nevan simply nodded in response to Haura's question.

"Nevan's not back?" ask the little girl again with a face that looks sad.

Nevan shook her head, "Nevan is back again." Little Nevan grabs Haura's hand and links her little fingers. "Nevan promise. Nevan is definitely back and we can play again" Nevan said.

Haura smiled at Nevan's words. "Haura will wait for Nevan to come back here."

"This is for Haura," Nevan handed over the small square-shaped box she had been holding since earlier.

"It's a gift for Haura's birthday next week."

The little girl accepted Nevan's gift happily. "Gee... Thanks Nevan."

A second later, Haura's face returned sad. "But Nevan promised Haura's birthday, Nevan wants to take Haura for a walk with Zayn as well" Haura said in a soft voice.

"Haura don't be sad, later if Nevan returns, Nevan promises to take Haura for a walk. So Haura has to wait for Nevan to come back."

"Haura promise. Haura will wait for Nevan, Haura will not be sad," Now it's Haura's turn to grab Nevan's hand and again link their little finger.

Then Haura opened Nevan's gift. Her happy smile faded again, "Why are her hairpins pink? Haura likes blue" Haura protested at Nevan's gift for a pair of pink hairpins.

"Blue is Nevan and pink is Haura" Nevan replied. The little boy took the hairpin that Haura was holding and put it on both sides of Haura's hair.

Until it's time Nevan has to leave. Little Haura was staring at the sad departure of her best friend. But the little girl did not want to cry. He had promised Nevan that he would not be sad.

Flashback Off

Haura moved from her bed. Open a drawer in her closet. He took a small square-shaped box. Yeah, it was a gift Nevan gave ten years ago. The teenage girl kept it well. Although Nevan's hairpin has been damaged, Haura prefers to keep it. To him it was a precious memento of his little friend.

Open the box. Haura rubbed gently a hairpin that was very valuable to her. A smile was etched on the lips of the sweet-tipped girl.

That smile wasn't just a pair of hairpins Nevan gave her. But because of an old paper that contained a picture of a pair of men and women holding hands. It was another gift from Nevan ten years ago.

Haura returned to her bed and carried Nevan's gift into her arms until the dream came to greet her. The girl fell asleep with a beautiful smile on her face.
