(May) I Fall in Love

(May) I Fall in Love
Cloudy And A Flavor

Nevan rested her body on her motorbike parked beside her. The handsome teenager had been looking neat in a school uniform wrapped around his body. As usual days since settling in Indonesia, Nevan always went to school when the new sun slowly adorned the sky. That morning the sky looked cloudy. Sky November. The month when it started raining.  While waiting for Haura's arrival, Nevan plays his smartphone, scattered in cyberspace

Haura walked slowly. Doubtful at his own pace. From a distance the black bead belonging to the teenage girl can see Nevan there. Stand quietly, waiting for him. Haura knows that.

Although Haura knew Nevan was waiting for her, the teenage girl still chose to step slowly towards Nevan. Jemari Haura intertwined, unraveling concerns that the teenage girl did not really need to worry about. The closer he got to the person he was referring to, the more nervous Haura became. Even to swallow his own saliva felt very difficult.

A few more steps as Haura was about to reach where Nevan was, Nevan realized that someone was approaching her. Haura, Nevan is sure of that. The handsome teenager looked back. The look in his eyes instantly caught Haura's figure. Spontaneously Nevan turned his body perfectly.

The handsome teenager flinched for a moment. Staring straight at Haura who was then also silently flinch at him. The two teenagers locked each other. Just a few seconds lasted until Haura finally chose to end her gaze on Nevan. Hunker down. Haura tries to hide her face from Nevan.

But unfortunately Nevan has managed to scan Haura's face well even though they stare at each other for only a few seconds. And sadly, those few seconds have generated an unusual pounding in Nevan's chest. A strange feeling crept into his heart. There was an unusual beat that Nevan felt in his chest.

“Eheemmm..” Sounded Nevan cleared his throat. Remove the noise that comes suddenly without permission. At the same time unravel the awkwardness felt by both.

“Why do you look like that?” ask Nevan.

If in the days usually Haura go to school with hair drooped like a ponytail. Today Haura was stroking her beautiful black hair. There was a small hairpin there as well. Sweeten the look of Haura on that day. Not to mention the face of the teenage girl who looks swept minimalist make-up like a teenager in general, making Haura's face look even sweeter. That's what took Nevan's limelight a few minutes ago to produce a strange thump inside the handsome teenager's chest.

Haura's simple appearance actually drugged Nevan for the second time. Beautiful, Nevan's inner self praises her best friend. For the second time also Nevan only praised the beauty of Haura in her heart.

“A-a-aku Haura replied stammered with a face that was still lowered deeply. Unwilling to look at his interlocutor who Haura did not know since had not shifted his gaze from her.

A second later Haura took something from her shirt pocket. A black hair tie. With a swift hand Haura put her hair back together so beautifully in one hand. Haura wanted to pull her hair back.

"I shouldn't have to follow Lui's advice yesterday" Haura muttered on the sidelines gathering her hair children.

Not even Haura's intention was carried out, immediately Nevan stepped her legs wide. It eroded the distance between her and Haura which was only a meter apart.

“What do you want?” Soon Nevan's hand held Haura's hand that was about to pigtail her hair.

“I want to pigtail my hair," replied Haura immediately. "Actually I'm also not comfortable if my hair is in the gini booth. Sultry," continued Haura again. That was the reason for that girl. What made Haura uncomfortable was not the rage. But because Nevan was looking at him coldly.

Not to mention, Haura still remembered vividly when she first scrunched her hair. Uglier. That was Nevan's comment at the time. One word made Haura even more insecure about her appearance now.

Actually since this morning in the back pavilion, Haura was already willing to pigtail her hair. But somehow Luisa also contacted him via video call this morning just to see Haura's performance this morning.

"Yesterday, Haura promised Lui that her hair would not be pigtailed today. If not Haura pigtails, Lui no longer want to know Haura. Lui was really angry with Haura and no longer wanted to be friends with Haura's sister" Luisa said this morning during a video call with Haura.

"But Lui, Brother Haura doesn't care if her hair is in the booth. Brother Haura will look increasingly ugly," Haura refused. Inwardly, Haura regretted that she had promised Luisa to grow her hair this morning.

"Lui doesn't want to know, Brother Haura promised. Who said Haura was ugly? Brother Haura is beautiful with her hair in the booth. There will definitely be people who like it when Haura's hair is in the booth. Don't forget to also wear the hairpin that Lui loved yesterday. Bye sister Haura. Send a picture of my sister to Lui. Don't forget."

The short video call ended. And inevitably Haura followed Luisa's advice. There was also a tucked away desire of Haura to take off the hair pigtails that always accompanied her every day. But again Nevan's words rang. That he looks ugly.

"Yesterday Lui asked me to scrape my hair and send a picture of me for her. I shouldn't have followed Lui's advice, so I don't have to look as ugly as I am now. Although I'm not pretty, but with this look, it makes me look ugly." Haura continued to speak to Nevan who had been silent listening to everything Haura said. Nevan's hand was still clasping Haura's wrist. Haura refused to shake her hair. Not to mention Nevan's netra was still at home staring at Haura's face which was now a few feet away from him.

"Nevan, let go of my hand. Because I'm...."

"Not in pigtails" Nevan said immediately. What Nevan said made Haura look strangely at her best friend

"Why?"

"I don't want to be late for school. With you tucking your hair again, it will take a few minutes. And those few minutes we should be able to use to go to school immediately" Nevan said. Lying, because he did not want to tell the real reason why he forbade Haura to pigtail her hair.

Baffled. That's what Haura felt. Confused by Nevan's speech that Haura thought was so absurd.

"It won't take long. You let go of my hand first, so I can immediately pigtail my hair and we can leave immediately," Pinta Haura again.

"I was waiting for you ten minutes ago. And you asked me to wait for you to pigtail the hair again. Come on Haura, you think I'm mas-mas ojol who's waiting for an order."

"I can go to school by myself without having to go with you." Haura began to be provoked by emotions again facing Nevan. "I never asked to go to school with you. You forced me to go with you."

"I forced you? when?" Nevan who feels always right also does not want to lose hearing Haura's words. Although Nevan consciously knew that everything Haura said was true. It was he who forced Haura. But justifying Haura's words was a choice Nevan would never make.

"When? You're amnesiac?" Haura paused her words. He turned his face and took a deep breath and looked back at the interlocutor

"Now you let go of my hand. Our debate can only make us late." Haura chose to return to the main topic that caused their debate in the morning to occur. Without even discussing the impromptu amnesia Nevan is experiencing.

Instead of obeying Haura's words, Nevan immediately pulled Haura's hand to follow her steps. The jolt in his hand forced Haura to follow Nevan. Despite every step of the way, Haura kept trying to remove her wrist from Nevan's grasp.

"You want to ride alone or I'm carrying," Nevan threatened because Haura never obeyed her orders.

Striking his legs and mouth that thaws a sign of protest against Nevan's attitude, Haura is forced to follow Nevan's orders. It is not impossible if Nevan will really carry it if not immediately get on the bike.

A small arch was seen in the corner of Nevan's lips. Seeing Haura who was holding back was precisely something Nevan liked. That's how Nevan is, getting Haura upset is one of the most fun things for her. Therefore, there is not a single day that Nevan goes through without teasing her best friend.

Afterwards Nevan immediately took the hair tie in Haura's hand and threw it in any direction.

"Why was he dumped?" asked Haura while staring at her hairband.

"You don't need that" Nevan replied without caring about Haura's expression as if she wanted to cry.

Haura just lowered her head. The teenage girl wanted to cry. Upset Nevan who always acts as she pleases.

"Why again?" nevan asked, who realized that Haura was crying.

"I don't want to go to school." Haura was about to get off Nevan's motor sport.

But Nevan quickly restrained Haura from staying on her bike. "Why? Why don't you go to school?" Baffled. That's what Nevan feels. He did not know what made Haura suddenly unwilling to go to school.

"I don't want to go to school before I put my hair down. I'm going to go back. I'm gonna grab another hair tie."

"Hair?" Nevan is getting frustrated because hair problems can be this complicated. "Haura, there's nothing wrong with your hair. Now we go to school." Nevan said softly so that Haura would listen.

But alas, Haura shook her head in disapproval of everything Nevan said. "I don't want to go to school with this hair."

"Why?"

"I'm ugly" replied Haura softly. Feeling like he really looks bad.

"ugly? Who said?" Both Nevan's eyebrows curved perfectly. Baffled.

"You."

A single word from Haura made Nevan round her eyes perfectly. "Me?" nevan said pointing to himself.

Haura nodded. Justifying Nevan's speech.

"When?" ask Nevan again. He completely forgot what he said in the hospital a month ago.

"At the hospital. You said I was ugly if my hair was in the booth. If you say I'm ugly, let alone the other kids. I don't want to be another student's bully."

"Damn," a swearing escaped Nevan's mouth. Saying to himself.

Now the handsome teenager remembers what he said in the hospital one month ago. Even worse, Haura thought her words were true. That she said Haura was ugly. Haura looked so beautiful back then, just like today. But alas, Nevan's tongue feels silly to just say one pretty word to Haura.

"You...." Nevan saw Haura's black bead start to glaze over. "You're really stupid."

I don't know in what way Nevan can explain to the teenage girl in front of him that what he said first was a lie. Not to mention the prestige that Nevan always held high, making himself reluctant to tell the truth.

"Don't cry, we're leaving now. No one will say you're ugly."

"I'm..."

"Silent. Don't protest, Haura."

Haura did not answer Nevan anymore. Haura chose silence, just like what Nevan said. No more protests. Thought Haura if ever later in school there would be a bully her, Haura was ready. Because from the beginning it was wrong for him to look like he is today.

Nevan immediately drove off his vehicle. Ready to split the streets of the Capital City which is still visible in the morning. They drive in silence. No one opens their voice.

Haura's long hair looks so beautiful in the cold morning breeze. Unfortunately the girl's face still looked gloomy. It was as dark as the weather in the morning.

Suddenly Nevan's left hand held one of Haura's hands on her shoulder. An unusual grip because along with it Nevan's heart beats out of line with his usual rhythm. There was a strange feeling he felt. And also the guilt of his words that made Haura lose her confidence.

"You're beautiful. Sorry for the words I used to say," Nevan said slowly almost like a mutter and certainly can not be heard by Haura.

That morning's cloudiness started an unusual feeling present in Nevan's heart to Haura, her best friend. A taste first appeared in Haura's heart for her best friend, Nevan. Cloudy and a taste that will present a drizzle in the hearts of the two teenagers.
