(May) I Fall in Love

(May) I Fall in Love
There I am

Nevan penetrates the streets of the capital in the swift rain. The teenage boy did not care about the cold rain that had soaked his body perfectly. In his mind there was only one thing that was to immediately find Haura.

When others choose to take shelter from the torrential rain that battered the earth that night, or even wrap their bodies in a thick, warm blanket, Nevan will need none of it. The rain and lightning that night accompanied him along the way to find Haura.

As much as possible Nevan continues to force his mind to think positively. That right now Haura must be fine. Haura is not in danger.

In his heart Nevan continues to curse his folly for leaving Haura alone. He should have made sure in advance whether Haura had really come home or not. If something happened to Haura, then the first person to blame was her.

The swift rain on that night made Nevan unable to drive his vehicle at high speed. Due to limited visibility. Something to be grateful for because the teenage boy can still think wisely by not riding his motorcycle recklessly.

“God, I hope Haura is all right. Please take care of Haura.” Nevan said. Whether the teenager was crying or not, but right now his eyes were sore. Between the rain and the tears, Nevan could not tell the difference.

The young man continued to pray in his heart. Haura is in a safe place.

“Haura, you need to be fine. Must.” The sense of regret filled Nevan's chest. Along the way Nevan continues to blame herself for leaving Haura alone.

Occasionally Nevan also circulated her gaze left and right, perhaps Haura was somewhere to shelter from the torrent of rain. But nil. The figure he was carrying was not visible at all.

After almost an hour, Nevan finally arrived at her school. Nevan parked his vehicle right in front of the security post. Having the son of the school owner come to school at night in a dripping wet condition makes the cool security officer enjoy a cup of hot coffee directly approached Nevan.

“Nak Nevan, why are you here at night like this? What's up?” ask one of the security officers named Grace according to the one written on his uniform.

“I want to find my friend sir.” Answer Nevan quickly.

“Friends? It seems like everyone has gone home. There is no one else in there,” added another security officer named Hendra.

In fact, the two officers did not know for sure whether there really was no one there. Because they haven't patrolled. The rain was the second reason for the security guard to laze.

“We try to check first, can sir?” pinta Nevan to the two security guards standing guard there. “My friend is called Haura. Which every day go and go home school with me,” Nevan explained again.

“Oooohhhh.. yes.. yes..” replied the security officer simultaneously. “Then let's try to check inside.”

“Good sir, thanks.”

“Better when going inside, we call Haura's name, so that if it is true that Haura's son is still inside, he can hear that we are looking for him.” Pak Rahmat's proposal.

“Iya sir, then I will find Haura on the second and third floors.” Nevan gave a suggestion. He chose to search the top floor of his school building. Given that the two security officers were no longer young, it would definitely be a long time if they went up to the second and third floors.

“Alright if it is like that, I will search around the canteen and sports field and Mr. Rahmat will go down the base building,” said Mr. Hendra agreed to Nevan's suggestion. "If we've checked all the places here, then we'll be right up there."

"This is the key to every room on the second and third floors. Nevan boy can use it." Mr. Grace handed over a bunch of keys to a room that was quite a lot. There is a name in each key to make it easy to open the room so that no key is exchanged.

Without saying another word, Nevan immediately ran into his school building. The second floor was his first destination.

When the teenager ran in a hurry, his cellphone rang again.

Niko. Nevan immediately shifted the green emblem to receive the call.

“Lo where?” sambar Niko was quick when Nevan received a call from him.

“Gue in school.”

“Oke. Haura is not at Luna's house nor Adel.”

Nevan turned off his phone. His mind grew increasingly confused to know that Haura was not in the house of his two best friends.

Along the corridor on the second floor of the school building looks very quiet. There was no sign of anyone there. But Nevan doesn't care. The boy went down every corridor and checked into every room there.

"Hauras... I'm Nevan. You where?" Nevan continued to shout calling Haura's name while checking every room she passed by.

Silent. No answer at all. The name that was called by Nevan seemed not to be there.

Every classroom Nevan entered was nil. Haura is not in any class.

Toilets. Yeah, toilets. It was possible that Haura was there and locked in it so that she could not get out.

Nevan ran straight to the student toilet on the second floor. Nevan hastily opened the toilet door one by one. It doesn't just belong to female students. But Nevan also checked into the men's toilet. I don't know, but Nevan doesn't want to miss a place.

The feeling of the teenage boy was even more chaotic because Haura was also not in the toilet.

"Haura where are you? don't joke gini. I'm sorry for leaving you." Nevan continued to mutter like that throughout her steps. Sometimes he would come back to call Haura's name.

Nevan's riding the third floor. The floor that houses the school's excrement room.

While calling Haura's name, Nevan hopes that her best friend is there. The teenager opened one by one the room using the key given by Mr. Grace earlier.

"Haura, answer me if you're here." Again Nevan shouted to call Haura.

*******

In a room, a teenage girl hugged her knees on the cold floor without being covered by anything. Body shivers. Her eyes were full of signs that she had just cried.

Haura fell asleep in the theater after weeping. His eyes slowly blinked. Adjusting the light seemed to hurt her swollen and sore eyes.

After being able to open her eyes perfectly, the girl glanced at her watch. Almost midnight. No one really came to help him. That's how he thought.

It was clear that the rain had not stopped. It's still as fast as it was a few hours ago. Without permission the clear liquid escapes from both eyes.

Haura slowly got up to sit her body. Her ankles are getting swollen. His knee also hurt a lot. In addition, his head felt very dizzy and his body shivered. Her tears were rough.

"I can't keep crying. There must be a way I can get out of this place." Haura reassured herself. The girl braced herself not to give up.

"Please.... Anyone outside. Please, I'm locked in here." With a hoarse voice, Haura again shouted for help to anyone who heard her. Whether it's a human or a demon. Haura doesn't care. As long as he can get out of the room and go home as soon as possible. The girl was very sure that now her mother must be very restless waiting for her return. Especially the phone is dead. Haura was very sure that at home there her mother was not stopping crying because she never got news from him.

Niente. No one heard his screams.

A wooden stick as a theater property is located in the left corner of where Haura is now. Maybe it can be used to open the door, inner Haura.

The teenage girl tried to stand by holding on to the door handle as a tool.

Bughhh.... Not yet had his feet retraced, his body fell back. An injury to his ankle really left him unable to stand.

"Awwwww....." Haura again grimaced in pain. But the girl did not give up. He tried again to stand up. But the result is still the same, Haura fell back. Even the pain in his legs was getting more excruciating.

Not wanting to despair, Haura still tried to take the stick even though she could not walk. The girl dragged her body to the left side where the tools she needed were.

"Finally." Relief from reaching for the stick. Without wasting any time Haura returned again towards the door to immediately try her luck. Forcing the door open even if it only had a simple wooden stick. At least he tried. That was what Haura thought.

"Dad.... Mothers.... Please Haura." The girl took a deep breath before starting her action. "Haura must be home, ma'am." Capitalizing power that is not how much Haura tried to force open the door.

After the experiment to many times, instead of succeeding, but instead the wooden stick he used was broken. The girl stared at the nanar on the stick that had broken the two.

"Does Haura have to give up, Mom? Does Haura have to be here until tomorrow morning?" As hard as Haura asked her eyes not to cry, her eyes betrayed her again. Isakan was heard in the quiet room.

His hearing-immersion caught someone calling his name. Faraway. That voice sounded far away. But Haura was sure that the one called was really her name.

Haura sharpened her hearing. Put his ear on the door.

"I'm not wrong, it's the voice of people calling my name." Smilingly. Finally Haura managed to smile after crying for a long time.

"Nevans. That's Nevan's voice." A sense of relief overwhelmed him. Nevan finally came to pick him up.

The longer the sound gets closer. And Haura is increasingly convinced that it really is Nevan.

"Nevan... I'm right here." As if his strength had gathered again. Haura was able to shout very loudly. Race with the swift sound of rain that still misses the earth. Reluctant to stop.

"Hauras.. Where are you going, Nevan?" Nevan's voice was heard calling out his name.

"Nevan. I'm locked in here."

Nevan stopped his steps. Making sure that he was right was like hearing Haura's voice.

"Nevan... I'm in the theater." Although Nevan is very vaguely convinced that it is Haura. And theater room. Yep. Nevan is not wrong. What he heard was a theater room. Very reasonable, because Haura is indeed a member of the theater exkul. So it's very possible that Haura is there. Why didn't he go straight to the room. Again, Nevan lamented his stupidity.

Nevan turned towards the theater room at the very end of the third floor corridor. Runs. That's what teenage boys are doing now. He wanted to see Haura immediately.

From a distance Nevan can see the lights of the room lit up. It means there's someone in there.

"Haura," call Nevan again.

"Nevan I'm in the theater room. Can you hear me?" Haura was screaming louder. Hope Nevan comes to that place soon.

After being right in front of the theater room, Nevan immediately searched for the keys to the room. In haste and trembling hands Nevan searched for the key of the room in a bunch of keys in her hand. It was as if Nevan couldn't wait to get Haura out of there.

"Haura, calm down. I'll get you out of there soon." Nevan said on the sidelines of the key-finding activity. I don't know what, like the key is hiding. Not wanting to be found immediately.

"Yes Nevan." Haura answered with a smile. It was as if Nevan could see his smile.

It took Nevan five minutes to find the sacred key. Frustrated, Nevan puts the key into place.

Czech.... The door of the room was open.

Nevan's perfectly rounded chocolate beads found Haura sitting on the floor in a very chaotic state. Injured leg and very puffy eyes. He was very sure that a few hours ago Haura was crying so violently.

Haura smiled at Nevan. Thank God, that's how he feels.

"Nevan." Her voice choked. Haura could no longer continue her words. The girl covered her face using both of her palms. After that, only a sound was heard. His eyes were like a dam filled with water. Never ending.

Soon Nevan crouched down in front of Haura and immediately brought the girl into her arms. Hugged Haura's body tightly. Trying to give you peace that it's all over. Everything's been fine.

"Silent. There's me." Nevan said softly as she stroked the soft top of the sobbing girl's head in her arms. Haura's body trembled in a cry that sounded extremely sorrowful.

"There I am. Don't be afraid." Nevan kissed the top of Haura's head many times. His heart seemed so wounded hearing Haura's cry. If only he had not left Haura, surely now the girl would not have to be as afraid as she is today.

For a long time the two teenagers did not move out of the room. Nevan was still tightly clutching Haura. No more crying was heard. Only occasionally did the sound of a whiff of the rest of Haura's cries come.

"We're home... Hmmmm.." said Nevan after feeling Haura was calmer.

Just a nod that Haura gave in response.

Nevan stared at Haura's face. Removing the remaining tears on his best friend's face.

"Everything is fine. There's me. You don't have to be afraid anymore." It was as if I never said enough to convince Haura that she would always be there for Haura.

As if it were a mantra, the word there I tied the two teenagers in an implied promise that was never spoken.

The meaning of there I am for Nevan is the promise he made that he will always be there for Haura under any circumstances.

And the meaning there is of me to Haura is like a promise from Nevan to her that the man will always be with her under any circumstances.

The rain that night witnessed the mute hearts of two teenagers who had been adrift in the unspoken word of love. Love that sleeps quietly under the blanket of friendship. Love that will ultimately hurt and hurt for both.
