The Turmoil of Youth

The Turmoil of Youth
Chapter 45

With a gontai step Melly entered her class and was greeted by Rani. Rani asks if she managed to make up with Tristan, she just answers him with a sledgehammer.

Does Melly have to give up now? Shouldn't he at least try again? Maybe Tristan will think through his words and decide to give their relationship another chance.

Melly approaches Tristan in the canteen at break time. The bench he used to sit on was still empty, but when he tried to occupy it, Tristan forbade it.

"There is a bench" Tristan said.

Melly was wondering who was occupying the bench, when Vionna appeared while carrying food.

"Surge dong!" she told Melly, because Melly was blocking her way. Melly stepped aside and Vionna sat down on the bench.

So now Vionna's replacing Melly? Did Vionna sit on the bench herself, or did Tristan tell her to? Melly looks at Tristan, trying to find an answer, but Tristan instead deliberately invites Vionna to chat.

Melly turns to Tristan's gang members. But they pretend to be busy with their food, despite occasionally glancing at it. Maybe Tristan told them he was Ghevin's brother, because it was gang trouble.

"Mell, that's it." Rani pulls Melly's hand.

Rani followed Melly in the back. Melly does not want to move, but Rani manages to pull her up to the other table.

"What do you want to eat?" ask her to Melly.

Melly shook her head. "Gue doesn't want to eat," he replied languidly.

"But ntar lo laper," said Rani. "Gue buy some bread, yeah." Without waiting for Melly's approval, she headed straight for the food counter. Before long she had returned with sausage bread to Melly.

To appreciate Rani, Melly starts eating the sausage bread. Melly forced herself to swallow it even though her tongue was numb, probably due to her sadness at seeing Tristan with Vionna. Melly could see them clearly from her desk. They're still chatting.

But when Melly sees Vionna taking food from Tristan's plate and Tristan lets her, she can no longer hold back her tears. Regardless of Rani calling out to him, Melly immediately ran away from the canteen.

Not only did Melly's relationship with Tristan, but Melly's relationship with Ghevin did not improve. Ghevin still doesn't want to talk to her, no matter how hard she tries.

"Mell, there's Miko up front," Mama said, making Melly jump right out of bed.

Melly hasn't seen Miko in a long time, and Melly realizes how much she misses her. Melly tidied up her appearance and immediately went out onto the terrace. There Miko was sitting while half daydreaming.

Given their last encounter that ended in grief, Melly became a bit clumsy to have to deal with him. But he tried to shake off that feeling.

"Sister Miko," call Melly.

Miko looked over, and smiled when she saw him. Her smile calmed Melly as if all her recent heartbreak had vanished without a trace. If only he had come sooner...

"Hi, Melly," said Miko. "Old time, we didn't meet. How are you?"

Melly sat down and shook her head. "Not so good," Melly admitted.

"For a storm with Ghevin?" guess Miko.

"One of them is," Melly said.

"Ghevin's a mess, too" Miko said. "He likes to be angry is not clear if our gang members are victims. There were only their actions that made Ghevin into high blood."

Melly took pity on Ghevin's gang. "Did Ghevin mukulin them?" tanyakanya.

"No really-no mukulin anyway," said Miko. "At least get shaken. But being struck by Ghevin feels the pain, too."

Wouldn't want Melly to laugh. While Miko looks happy because she managed to cheer him up.
