Chapter 29

Again Ghevin told Mama and her Papa about Melly's relationship with Miko. This time he said Melly had broken up with Miko. They were indeed surprised because Miko no longer drove him. With Ghevin's explanation, they finally got an answer.

But Ghevin still can't pick up Melly's school because Tristan must still be spying on Melly. So, for a while Melly asked Rani to do it. Thankfully, my mom and dad didn't ask me why. Maybe they think Melly is in desperate need of a friend because of a new heartbreak.

Of course Rani gladly accepted the task. His chance to meet Ghevin will be even greater, and it gets him excited. She even asks Melly to keep giving her the job even though Tristan is no longer spying on her.

That morning, Melly remained at the dinner table with her Papa while her Mama opened the gate for Ghevin. Soon Mama comes in and tells Melly that Rani is waiting for her outside. Melly tells Mama and her Papa, then walks out to greet Rani.

Rani did not turn her head at all towards Melly, even when Melly was already standing next to her. His gaze was fixed on Ghevin's car. Apparently Ghevin hasn't left yet. He got out of the car and approached them.

"Hi, Rani," Ghevin said to Rani.

"Hi, Brother Ghevin," replied Rani complete with a worshipping smile.

"I'm sorry, you have to bother picking up Melly" Ghevin said. His hands ruffled Melly's hair. Melly grumbled while trying to straighten her hair back.

"It's okay," responded Rani. Smiles still filled his face. "Gue doesn't mind. I can even help Melly."

"Lo is the best" Ghevin said. Before turning around, he said, "Be careful, yes!" while again ruffling Melly's hair.

While Melly left Ghevin with a feeling of extraordinary goiter, Rani instead looks sparkling as if she just won the lottery. Melly had to hold him back from prancing around after Ghevin's car drove.

"Ran, he can still see you from the rearview mirror, you know." Melly warned.

Rani doesn't seem to care. She hugged Melly. "No horror, Mell?!" girang. "He said I was the best."

With great difficulty Melly tried to escape from Rani's embrace. "Yes, I'm horrified" said Melly. "What do you think I'm taking?"

"Geez, Mell," said Rani. "Gue is so happy!"

"Gue knows," responded Melly. "Let's go now instead of late."

Melly forces Rani to get on the bike immediately. Her feelings of joy continued until they arrived at school. After parking the motorbike, they walked into the school gate

How surprised Melly when he saw Tristan was sitting on a long bench that he used to sit on if he was waiting for Melly. He stood up as soon as he noticed Melly's presence and went straight to her.

"Aren't my sentences over?" ask Melly as soon as she gets near her.

Melly did not immediately digest Tristan's words. For Melly it was so strange that she would take her to class, not as usual to have Melly carry her bag.

"Come on!" take Tristan, when he sees Melly not walking.

Melly glanced at Rani and she seemed to feel strange as well. But when they saw Tristan had stepped up, they decided to follow him.

Tristan actually drove Melly to class, to the front door of the class. Melly and Rani don't go in right away because she starts talking.

"Even though the punishment is over now, I want to go to the cafeteria as usual" Tristan said. "Gue won't tell you to buy food again, but I'm gonna take you to eat together."

"But..." Melly glanced back at Rani. Although pleased with Tristan's invitation, she does not want to leave Rani alone again at the break.

"Lo can take her too" Tristan said. He turned to Rani and asked, "Lo Rani Adellia Lynn, right?"

Rani looks surprised because Tristan knows her name. "Yes, I'm Rani Adellia Lynn, sister," she replied.

"Ntar lo take Melly to the cafeteria as well yeah," Tristan invited. "We ate together there."

Without thinking long Rani nodded immediately. "Yes, brother," he said. "My mother went with Melly to the cafeteria."

Tristan seemed satisfied to hear it. She doesn't even need Melly's answer anymore and walks away right away. Melly doesn't believe she still wants to be with him even though his sentence is over.

"Something she feels is reciprocated" commented Rani.

Melly looked at him. "Why can you say that?" tanyakanya.

"Jeez, Melly!" rani is desperate. "Are you still belom conscious as well? Obviously he likes you, the proof is that he keeps telling you to the cafeteria. The goal is, let him continue to deket the same lo."

Tristan seemed to prove Rani's words when they were in the canteen. At that time Rani was buying Melly food, while Melly remained sitting with Tristan. Some of Tristan's friends protested that Melly was no longer serving them, but with just one death glance from Tristan, they went straight through.
