Chapter 23

A week after the first date. Melly and Miko are dating again. For their second date, Miko takes Melly to a famous meatball shop. The store is always crowded because of its good meat taste. Despite having to eat in a hot and crowded place, they did not mind too much.

Fortunately they managed to get a table that was near the fan, so they did not overheat. The noisy sounds of people chatting rang out around them, while they sat down while enjoying the meatballs.

Melly who pretentiously put a lot of sambal into her meatballs finally started to spiciness. Her nose was running and her tears were coming out as well.

"Mell, how are you crying?" ask Miko suddenly. Either she's taunting him or thinks Melly's really crying.

"Crazy. It's so bad, "Melly complained while wiping away her tears.

"Do you want me to drink again?" bargain Miko when seeing iced tea Melly stay a little.

Melly nodded. Miko called the waiter. Unlike Melly who was gasping because her tongue was burned, Miko still looks calm.

"Sir Miko don't use sambel, huh?" accuse Melly. He didn't notice it.

"Pake really," said Miko. "But not much of a lo. Be careful, you have a stomachache."

"Tell me by the way" grumbled Melly.

Miko laughs. "It's funny to eat again" he commented. "From that moment I noticed, I think you exclamation yourself."

"Now you know, yes" said Melly. "Melly can't be bothered eating anymore,"

For a while they were busy again struggling to finish their meatballs. But suddenly, Miko says something that makes Melly almost choke.

"I think I want this to continue the same lo," murmured Miko.

Melly didn't know how to respond, so she just drank her iced tea to cover up the misbehavior. But it seems Miko didn't notice it because she just kept talking.

"Gue really enjoys every time we spend together" Miko continued. "Gue doesn't want this to end."

"Mell, to be honest, I really like you."

Without cue. From Melly's mouth, spurt out the iced tea she was drinking. The spray did not hit Miko, but still made her shocked.

"Mell, you okay?" ask Miko.

Melly hurriedly took the tissue and wiped her mouth. "It's okay" he said. "Just be surprised."

"Sorry" said Miko sungkan. "Gue doesn't mean anything. I just want to feel my feelings."

Melly nodded indistinctly and stood up. "Melly go to the toilet first yes," he muttered as he escaped from Miko's presence.

In the toilet, Melly washes her face. He hoped that water would refresh his brain.

What the hell just happened? Did Miko really express her feelings for Melly? Melly never knew that Miko liked her. I thought, maybe, but Melly didn't think it was real.

Melly tried to ease her heartbeats. If Melly did like her, shouldn't she be happy because Miko also has the same feelings for her? But why did Melly feel afraid and want to retreat?

Melly really doesn't understand. It was the first time he experienced this. It feels like Melly called Rani for advice, but she doesn't want to make Miko wait too long.

Melly returns to Miko and sees that her attitude is not as calm as before. Obviously Miko is nervous because now Melly already knows her feelings. Melly tries to smile at him, even though she is as nervous as Miko.

"Let's finish the meatballs," asked Melly. Meatballs eaten taste not as good as before. His tongue was also numb.

After finishing the meatballs, they went straight home. Melly decides to wait until morning, so she can talk to Rani in person.
