Chapter 27

Tristan drops Melly in front of Rani's house and leaves immediately. Rani is no longer confused to see Melly appear suddenly in her house, but she knows something is wrong once she sees her face.

"Is something going on?" ask Rani.

"Kak Tristan nyamperin Kak Miko and tell him if I want to end my relationship with him," Melly told.

"Well, fucked!" Rani's Response. "Keep, are they fighting?"

Melly shook her head. "Sister Miko seems too sad to fight" he said. Shown back the pain on Miko's face when she left earlier.

"Aren't you giving me the same explanation, Miko?" ask Rani.

"Gue told him to come straight to my house" Melly said. Melly also remembered to go home soon, because Miko must have come to her house immediately according to the message.

"Ran, can you get me home?"

"You can," said Rani. "Short of a minute, I got out of my bike first."

Sure enough, Miko was already waiting when Melly arrived at her house. He was sitting on a motorcycle while half daydreaming. Rani was chatting with him before returning home. Rani knows Ghevin is not home, so there is no reason for him to linger at Melly's house.

"Come in, sister," asked Melly, while opening the gate of the house.

Miko follows Melly in and Melly lets her sit on the porch. For a moment they sat in silence. Melly was busy thinking of a way to start her explanation.

"Kak Tristan said he wanted to free Melly from punishment" said Melly finally. "But the condition is, Melly must end this relationship. That means we broke up."

"He's really gonna freakin' you?" ask Miko.

"He said it anyway" replied Melly. "But I don't know either. I hope he's serious about his words."

"It's good that he's serious" Miko muttered.

Melly looks at Miko. "So Melly wanted Miko's sister to know," she said, "Melly did this not because of the incident at the meatball shop. I swear, it had nothing to do with it."

Miko nodded with a small smile. "Gue believes in you" he said.

Melly let out a sigh of relief. "Melly is really worried that Miko will misunderstand" he continued. "Timing between the events in the meatball shop was the same request of Kak Tristan is very fitting."

"But, Mell," said Miko suddenly, "there's one thing I want to ask you. But I want to answer honestly."

"Well, what does he want to ask?"

"How come I asked you to make me my girlfriend, would you like to accept me?"

"Oh. My. God. Why is he nanyain? That's the question I avoid the most."

Melly started to wave. "W-what's that question h-should be answered?"

"Yes" said Miko. "Gue wants your answer."

Melly already knew the answer to that question, but she had trouble finding the right way to convey it.

"Melly's..." His words just floated in the air.

Miko understood by herself. "I think you're going to reject me, huh? guess it.

Melly looked at him unwell. "Melly also likes Miko." Melly acknowledged. "But… "

"Just a friend?" connect Miko.

Melly nodded slowly. "Yes," he said. "It's just a friend."

"Geez.. Why do I want to cry, huh? I am a bad girl. I don't like guys as good as him."

"Sorry," muttered Melly. "Melly bener-ener hope to thicken the feeling of Kak Miko."

Miko raised her head again. "It's okay, Mell," he said, calming Melly down. "I can't feel your feelings."

"Please... Brother Miko don't be sad because of Melly yes," she asked.

"Maybe I'll be sad for a few days," Miko said half jokingly. "But after that I'll be fine. Don't worry."

The sound of an approaching car engine made them simultaneously turn their heads outside the gate. It appears Ghevin is parking the car.

"It just so happens" said Miko. "We can tell him."

"Not sure what?" ask Melly.

"Only should we end our pretend relationship" Miko replied.

"Oh."

Melly thinks Miko will tell Ghevin about him rejecting her. Melly doesn't want Ghevin to know about it. Though Melly knows Ghevin must have sided with her, who knows she'll be upset that Melly has hurt her friend.

Ghevin steps in and puts his head on Miko. "What are you doing here?" ask without further ado.

"Gue said something to Melly, again" Miko replied. "And I think you should know that too."

"It's about love, I don't want to know" Ghevin said as he prepared to walk away.

Miko immediately restrained Ghevin's move. "No, it's not about that" he said. "It has to do with Tristan."

Tristan's name was enough to make Ghevin alert like an eagle ready to pounce on prey. He pulled Melly's hand suddenly and examined her from top to bottom.

"Is Tristan sick to you?" ask her to Melly. "Say me. Because if he dares to touch you a little, I swear I'll skin him alive.

Melly immediately imagined Tristan being skinned and horrified herself. Ghevin sometimes reminds him of psychopaths.

"No, no" Melly's bell. Tristan does make Melly his errand boy, but she never physically hurts Melly. "She promised not to bother me anymore."

"Why can he promise that?" ask Ghevin astonished.

Melly exchanged looks with Miko. Melly gestures with her eyes that Melly wants Miko to deliver it to Ghevin.

"Tristan told Melly to end her relationship with me" Miko replied, representing Melly.

Ghevin was furious. "What's the right to tell Melly like that?!" angry roar.

"But it's a good opportunity for Melly" said Miko. "So, we're following her request to end our pretend relationship."

"You're both stupid!" ghevin. "You shouldn't let Tristan take control of the situation. He'll feel victorious because he's managed to get you to obey him."

"It's okay if he feels like he's winning" Miko said. "It's important he keeps his promise with Melly to not bother her anymore."

It took time until Ghevin finally understood why they were following Tristan. After Ghevin's anger subsides, Miko returns home to Melly. Melly escorted Miko out the gate. After giving Melly one last smile, she immediately drove away on her bike.
