Arc 3: Intermission

In a remote place in Duchy Astria, Radolf is meeting with one of the spies from the Republic of Anconia. They met to discuss a grand plan.

"Good night, Mr. Radolf. Do you want a cup of coffee? Or would you rather have a glass of tea?" ask the spy.

"I want to kill someone, and that opportunity will come in the near future" Radolf said without further ado.

Republican spies have recently been able to resume their activities freely after the emergence of drug trafficking cases in the Empire. They have made plans to carry out various operations.

"It's true, we're going to do something in the near future. But what you're asking for is too conspicuous to do" said the spy, who then sipped a cup of coffee.

Previously, Radolf had been in contact through correspondence with Republican spies. Radolf asks to blow up a residence of someone he wants to kill.

"This time is different, I have a plan for the Empire to have trouble uncovering the motive for the assassination" Radolf said.

"Hoo~ Can I hear about this plan of yours?"

Radolf then begins to explain the plan to the spy. Hearing Radolf's explanation, the spy fell silent for a moment thinking of something.

"The Empire won't suspect you if we follow your plan, Mr. Radolf." The spy then stared intently at Radolf. "But what's the advantage for us to do this? If the plan succeeds, the Empire's attention will be on us."

Hearing the spy's concern, Radolf responded with a smile. "I have a plan to create a civil war in the Empire."

Hearing this made the spy surprised. Actually, what Radolf was planning said was such a crazy idea.

The lower district of Wien City, where people who are without work live. This area has the highest crime rate compared to other areas in Wien City.

On the sidelines of the narrow alley, there are some young people who sit leaning against the alley wall. Their mouths are foaming at the sign they're overdosing.

"We found them." Some Patrol Guard is conducting an investigation.

"Honey, we're late" said one of them, sounding sorry.

Most of those who take these illegal drugs are young people. This drug is their favorite because it has certain effects for humans in their age.

"Check around, find evidence and confiscate all the drugs you find in this area."

The lower district became a favorite place for dealers to do business. In this area, the citizens have a gray background making it more difficult for the security authorities to trace the dealers to the source of the bookie.

Seeing the Guard Patrols filling the area around their settlement, the citizens there started to exit their homes. For those who have difficulty living, any way they will do to get a bite of food.

"What are you doing, government dogs!"

"Hurry out of here!"

It was seen that the residents in this area did not like the Guard Patrols. In this area also most of the previous rebels get many recruits to overthrow the government.

The Guard Patrols looked nervously at the sight of the Citizens starting to surround them. The Guard Patrols were outnumbered too much.

Not too long later, a long black haired woman appeared, her eyes staring intently at the residents of the lower district, her expression looking extremely cold like the Ice Queen

"You civilization scum, I'll only say this once." Serena drew out her sword and pointed it at the protesting citizens.

"According to my words... Or die."

Duke Penrose was reading the reports of the illegal drugs business he was building in the Empire. The distribution branch in Wien City has been destroyed by the Patrol Guard operation led directly by Serena.

"Ah.. as expected of my future wife, Serena," murmured Duke Penrose to praise Serena sincerely even though she destroyed her drug business.

Hearing this, the service next to her looked confused because her Master had not yet made an official engagement with Serena.

"Duke Franz has already agreed to it and the Hero Trial is coming to an end. Soon, my dream will come true, Serena will be mine."

"Duke Penrose, Mr. Goatbeard is here" said the waiter from behind Duke Penrose's door.

"Take him into the living room" he ordered briefly. "Cecil, come with me to see him."

His servant simply looked down in response to his master's orders. The two of them then arrived at the guest room. A person wearing a black robe covering his head had been present there.

"Mr Goatbeard, welcome to the Reginar Family residence," Duke Penrose greeted his guest.

"For a long time no see, Duke Penrose. Looks like you're in a good mood" Goatbeard replied to a beaming Duke Penrose's face.

They then discussed the agreement between the two sides on something considered taboo by mankind.

"Why do you want power, Duke Penrose?" ask Goatbeard. "You already have abundant wealth and a strong influence in the Empire."

Hearing the question from his guest, Duke Penrose started laughing. "All you mention it's just an illusion, Mr. Goatbeard. The real power is the real and Absolute power."

Duke Penrose once felt that way, all he had in this world besides strength. Not having the strength, the reason he was unable to get close to Serena at that time. Making Serena uninterested in him and preferring to be close to Jerold

After the meeting with Goatbeard ended, Duke Penrose then informed his servant to prepare a trip to Wien City.

"Why did you go there, sir?" asked the servant in curiosity.

"Of course I want to visit my future wife. What else is my reason for going there?" her lie.

The main reason Duke Penrose went to Wien City was because part of his deal with Goatbeard—, a messenger from the Demon King's army.
