Arc 2 Chapter 18: The Falls

After defeating the two rebels and disabling the Red Birdcage Artifact, I rushed back to the center of the fight. From a distance, the Guard Patrols were having a hard time fighting Zerrigan. A very troublesome monster.

That monster had the ability to split up into the thousands! To defeat him, I had to find his main body and kill him.

His other half of himself would be wiped out with him if he managed to kill the main body of the monster.

Jumping from building to building, I tried to find the whereabouts of the main body.

“Retreat! The red light that shut us down has disappeared! Outside of this place, there was a medical team waiting! Backward!” The Vice Chairman is seen directing the Guard Patrols.

Back, huh? I saw the Zerrigans almost filling the middle Basecamp.

I descended from the top of the building and approached the Vice-Chairman.

“Sirius! Where have you been!? We are facing difficulties here!” I heard Senior Hans's scream.

I turned around and saw him fighting with the Zerrigan crowd on the left side of the perimeter of the Patrol Guard formation.

“Vice Chairman, how does the progress of the withdrawal of Members run?” Hearing my question, the Vice Chairman then approached me.

“Thanks to that red light cage that is gone, we can evacuate the fatalities and wounds from this place. We set up a 100-meter perimeter to contain thousands of monsters but..." The Vice Chairman then looked at the members who were fighting at every corner of the perimeter. Turning around, I then jumped into another building while searching for Zerrigan's main body.

I sensed that the three Zerrigans were still chasing me. Running and jumping from the top of the building to another building, the Zerrigan chasing me grew. Behind me, I saw 9 Zerrigan who were always following my movements.

In front of me, I saw one Zerrigan made it up here, the monster then darted towards me.

I then punched him in the face so strongly that he bounced off falling from up here. However, the monster's distraction made my movements slow down. I then turned around, seeing four Zerrigan jumping towards me.

I jumped to the left to the right to avoid their attack. The remaining four Zerrigan but not giving me a chance to escape, they shot a liquid from their hands towards me.

I with difficulty jumped back to avoid their shots. However, before I managed to land, the remaining one Zerrigan shot out from the front doing a flying kick.

I held it with both hands to absorb the hit of his kick. However, thanks to the momentum of his attack, my body bounced off the top of the building.

I crashed through the wooden wall of a building then rushed up before they came back to attack me simultaneously.

Damnit damnit! Where is the main body of the monster! The time I have is thinning, everything will die if I don't kill him immediately!

I then turned my gaze to the northern part of the Patrol Guard perimeter. I then saw something 50 meters from the perimeter, a monster that was splitting around a lot of Zerrigan around it.

Jumping from the top of this building, I rushed to re-enter the perimeter. However, the main body was surrounded by a lot of Zerrigan.

How can I get close to him quickly?

When I entered the perimeter, I saw four witches on top of a building. They were shooting magic towards the Zerrigan group that surrounded the Guard Patrols. I rushed to them.

“What are you doing here? The other members were having trouble keeping the perimeter from the monsters!” attacks said one of the witches.

“Senior! I don't have much time, I have a plan that can destroy those monsters.” Hearing my explanation, the witch simply nodded.

“Senior and others, use all the rest of your mana to cast one powerful fire magic towards there.” I pointed towards the crowd of Zerrigan who were around the main body.”The first two magic shots to make me able to land there, then the remaining two shots, Senior can fire when the monster group is about to attack me in the moment I will kill their main body.”

“We understand! Good luck!”

After giving instructions to the witches, I rushed towards the northern perimeter.

Climbing up the building, I saw a rope connecting the building with another. I cut the rope and took a deep breath. Take a swing then run to the edge of the building and then jump.

Using the rope I cut earlier, I swung over the thousands of Zerrigan towards the place where the main body was. I saw the light from both sides of my eyes. Two huge fireballs passed me and hit the Zerrigans in front of the main body.

The two huge fireballs annihilated the Zerrigan that had been hit by the blast, making enough space for me to land. I then ran through the flames.

In front of me, the main body of Zerrigan split into three parts. That part of him then jumped up trying to attack me.

“Swift Slash!” Taking Baselard from his sword sheath, I then slashed the two Zerrigans with my sword technique without reducing my running speed.

Now, only Zerrigan's main body is left before me. The monster then pointed its hand towards me shooting out a liquid. I then dodged his attack by jumping forward and doing a koprol.

Gathering mana in my left hand, I prepared to make an attack with a left hook fist.

“Radical Blow!” My fist went through the left abdomen of the monster.

“Gyaaaaa!” The monster cried out in pain holding his stomach. He looked at me for a moment and started running.

“There may be I let you escape, bastard!” I chased him from behind.

In front of us, hundreds of Zerrigan started moving here. However, I did not panic and did not reduce the speed at which I ran after him.

Bombbb!

Two huge fireballs hit the hundreds of Zerrigan that were in front of us. Zerrigan's main body then stopped so as not to be affected by the explosion.

“Gyaaaaa!” The monster cried out in pain and saw a hand piercing through his chest from behind.

An organ was ticking in my hand.

Zerrigan's main body then began to relax and fell to the ground. Fresh red blood poured down profusely soaked the monster's body.

Crackk! Crackk! Crackk!

When his main body had died, one by one Zerrigan who was fighting with the Guard Patrol began to break into pieces.

Silence ensued, the Guard Patrols were still confused as to what had actually happened. The thousands of Monsters they had just fought life and death were suddenly wiped out with nothing left.

“Ki-us, we won!!!” I heard Senior Hans yell.

“Uwohhh! We won!!”

“We managed to defeat those monsters!” Senior Hans shouted and followed the screams of the other Guard Patrols.

“Everything! Quickly take the wounded and the dead out of Basecamp!” the Vice Chairman's Order. I then approached him. “Ah, Sirius. Good work.” He smiled at me.

- Plak!

Suddenly someone slapped me on the back.

“Siriusss! You turned out to be useful too! I saw your action earlier!” Rarely does Senior Hans praise me. I heard him smiling weakly.

“By the way Vice Chairman, I did not see Chairman Serena from earlier.” Hearing my question, the Vice Chairman was a little surprised.

“True, we must hurry to help the Chairman! He was fighting with that giant Monster near the waterfall!”

I saw Chief Serena continue to attack that wolf Monster—Lycanthrope.

"Groooahhhhh!!" The lycanthrope swung its forces.

Their attacks collide. I saw the Chairman's body bouncing to the edge of the waterfall ravine. While Lycanthrope's body became black charred and then issued a puff of smoke due to the attack of the Chairman.

Seeing that Lycanthrope was beginning to weaken, I then activated my sword magic—Sterben.

"Groooahhh!!!" The lycanthrope dashed towards the Chief.

It appears that the Chairman is back lining his sword with fire. I then started running towards them using Featherstep. My target I marked.

When the attacks of the two of them were about to collide, I then jumped on Lycanthrope's back and stabbed Baselard.

"...!"

Not only was that Lycanthrope shocked, not even the Chief had expected that I would suddenly appear to backstab the monster before him.

I released the mana that had accumulated in Baselard and blew it up inside the Lycanthrope.

"Groayahhh!!!" The monster roared in pain.

"Never dare to rule me!!" Chief Serena slashed her sword at Lycanthrope's side. Making the monster bounce off the Waterfall.

We defeated the monster. The chairman looks very tired. I think he'll pass out if he fights any longer.

However, the unexpected happened. The Chief's stomach was suddenly wrapped around by some kind of feather. It was the tail of Lycanthrope that had fallen off earlier. He brought Chief Serena down with him to the ravine of the waterfall.

"Chairman!" I rushed to the edge and jumped into the waterfall.
