Side Story: A man who wants to be a Hero

A few months after the official appointment of the Saint, the alliance troops were fighting in the vicinity of Limburg City not far from the capital of the Thuringian Kingdom of Freisland.

This shows the very bad condition of this Kingdom. The Demon King's army stayed a little further ravaging the heart of their kingdom.

There was a rumble of battle the result of the two armies clashing. The Demon King's 20,000 troops were facing 40,000 Alliance troops. If seen in plain sight, this number indicates that the Alliance forces will win easily. But that's not the reality. The majority of the Alliance troops were only filled by Recruits resulting from Military Compulsory which was of very poor quality compared to Royal Regular soldiers.

Right now, I myself am facing the three Ghouls that are before me. The Demon King's army is made up of Devils. Monsters and some Demihumans.

The three Ghouls ran towards me. I did not panic and was as calm as Master Alain taught me.

The three Ghouls attacked me with all their might, without any strategy or technique. They were just monsters that were only moved by his lust and instinct.

“Dancing Light : Three Light Slash!”

I then sped up and did a quick three slashes. There was blood splattered on the chests of the three Ghouls.

“You've been getting better lately Arthur!” I heard someone praising me.

I then turned around and saw the man who called me defeat a Troll who made some soldiers in distress.

“Hey Juan! Your attacks have also been stronger lately!” reply praised.

Gruuuohhh!

I heard a loud voice. Looking at the source of the sound, I saw a large Minotaur was heading this way.

“Arthur! We take down the big one first!” Juan started running towards the Minotaur with his sword.

I also ran and looked more closely at the Minotaur.

That's at least four meters, isn't it? how can we defeat him!

Gruohhhhhhhhh!

The minotaur swung its big mace towards Juan but, as expected of a Hero candidate like me, he could easily avoid it by jumping up and doing a Koprol.

“Strike him, Arthur!”

Hearing his orders, I focused the mana on my sword and my feet.

“Light Sword: Executioner.” My sword gave off a light.

I then darted out using the acceleration magic on my leg then jumped to move then appeared quickly before him.

“Haaah!”

I slashed it with a swing of my two hands vertically.

Gruoohh!

The monster cried out in pain, but his footrest did not move at all.

Damnit damnit! His body is so strong! I'm in trouble!

It looks like his fist is pointing at my body. I then caught a glimpse of a flash of light passing beside my head.

Gruoohhhhhh!

I then found out what happened. Three shining arrows were seen stuck in his hand. “Arthur! Attack the monster back!” I heard a woman who was very familiar with me.

“Dancing Light : River Flow in you!” Back, my sword gave off a light.

I then did a combo attack. One slash, two slashes, three slashes I launched into the Minotaur's chest.

Gruoohh!

The minotaur is now seen moving backwards holding onto his chest.

“Arthur! Don'tstop! Prepare your strongest attack!” I heard Juan's voice behind me.

“Crescent Slash!” He darted beside me then slashed both the back of the Minotaur's knee.

A gruohhh!

The Minotaur's second leg then collapsed making it kneel easier for me to attack.

I who from earlier had gathered mana in my sword then cast my strongest magic.

“Maximum Light Burst!” I stabbed his chest with my sword.

Gruohhhhhhhhh!

The minotaur was seen coughing up blood. His hand he pulled up was about to try to hit me with his big cudgel.

“Piercing Shot!”

Gruohhhhhhhhh!

The minotaur was in pain. This time, a larger-sized arrow was stuck in his hand that was holding a mace.

“Solve, Arthur!” the woman behind me.

Hero candidates are great. They are very understanding about how to fight as a team.

“Release!”

A burst of light shot out from my sword shattered the Minotaur's body from within. Parts of his body were thrown and it appeared that only his lower body was left in front of me.

“Good Job, Arthur.” Juan patted me on the shoulder and helped me up.

“Your attack is great too, Juan.” We commend each other. I turned around and smiled at the woman who helped me. “Thank you Alicia, your shot is always on target.”

“Don't relax first you two, this battle is not over.” Alicia pointed behind us.

I turned around and saw a very horrible sight. The monsters and Devils could easily defeat the Alliance army's Soldiers.

The recruits conscription could not be expected as it turned out.

I then saw a Devil flying and vaguely chanting a spell.

“Fearr!”

Shortly after the demon finished its magic, I began to feel a feeling of not wearing.

The three of us fell down then I felt my voice not coming out and had trouble breathing. I then looked at the Devil and felt a terrible fear. My body trembled and would not respond to what I wanted.

Seen as the Demon King Army was getting more aggressive and vice versa, the Alliance army looked hard to fight with them.

I-ni, a Mental magic, huh? But how can it be this strong!?

There were three 4-meter minotaurs running towards us. They were ready to swing their weapons and attack us.

This finally? Damnit damnit! I-I swore to the King to bring Excalibur back to the Britonians! There's no way I'm giving up here!

I forced my body to move. I faintly heard a singing of a woman whose voice was so familiar to me.

“Good job young Hero candidate. You overcame your fears and were freed from that magic.” I heard the voice of the man beside me.

Suddenly in front of me appeared a Knight with golden armour and golden robe. The man then carried out an attack on the three Minotaurs who were approaching us.

“Lightning Strike!”

The three Minotaur heads then floated severed exposed to his attack. Yeah, he's that guy. The former Hero who slashed his enemies with a Golden sword. He is Albert The Golden Knight—The previous Legendary Sword Holder of Balmung!

The inner Reichtum der Leute ist ~

Again, I heard a singing voice. This time, I could hear it clearly. I then turned around and found a woman whose beauty was like an angel descending from Heaven. Around him were several famous Knights guarding him. He is the Great Saint.

Wie Licht bunt, durch Farbglass hereinzuschei ~

The Alliance Soldiers and the Demon King's army came to a halt due to the sound of the chant. They seem to be wondering what really happened. Who is the owner of this sweet voice.

There was a light appearing on the bodies of all the Alliance Warriors.

I then felt my energy begin to recover hearing the singing of the Saint. I saw the wounds of the soldiers who had fought long ago heal.

I heard the voice of the demon who created the mental magic say something. The silent demons then returned to attack the Alliance soldiers.

Die grandiose Natir Sorgt, immernoch fur ihre Kinder ~

“Her hero candidates, the warriors of mankind! The Saint has been present alone to guide us to victory! Raise your heads! Move your bodies! with the presence of the Great Saint, we can definitely defeat an enemy as strong as anything!”

Hearing the words of Albert the Golden Hero, the fear that had enveloped my heart disappeared. My feelings were filled with a high spirit of struggle. I think the Alliance soldiers and the other Hero Candidates feel the same way.

“Strike!”

Back Albert The Golden Hero shouted an order.

“UOOOOOHHHH!”

The soldiers made a shout expressing their passionate.

“Long Live The Saint!”

They fought back against the Demon King's army. Unlike the previous one, this time it was not a one-sided fight.
