Arc 3 Chapter 8: Runfeld Village Fight

The next night after the heroes arrived at Runfeld village this afternoon, three Patrol Guard men were doing their patrol duties around the ruins of the old Runfeld Village.

Although the full moonlight shone in the darkness of the night, the Guard Patrols still carried a lantern to make it easier for them to pay attention around.

"You see those Acolyte women? They are not only good, but also sweet. I want to get married and stay here" said one of the Guard Patrol.

"Well... I have to admit, I want my wife to have a good personality like them" the Patrol Guard colleague replied.

They then entered the area within the ruins. The largest building in the area is the Temple of Athens, which only leaves the inside and a pole.

"Please—"

"...!" There was a scream of a woman that made them alert.

The three Guard Patrols then began to search in the direction the voice sounded. The silence in the rubble area made them nervous.

"Please—" Reheard the voice of the woman earlier.

The three of them then arrived at a house where the source of the woman's voice was located. Opening the door of the house, the three Guard Patrols saw a woman sitting on the wooden floor turning her back to them.

"Huu... Huu... " The woman was crying.

"It's okay, Miss. We will soon menol—"

Thud!

The Patrol Guard's head suddenly rolled onto the floor. The woman turned to show her figure to the two remaining Patrol Guards.

Red eyes, pale skin, a claw that looked sharp like a knife, the woman's canine teeth were slightly visible in her mouth.

"V-vampire!" The two of them rushed out of the building running as fast as they could.

"We must immediately melap—" Patrol Guard's voice was restrained. Both are now floating in the air. Their bodies felt like they were being lifted by an invisible hand.

Not long after, their bodies suddenly started to shred. Their hands, feet and head were separated from their bodies. Fresh blood poured into the ruins.

"With this, they will definitely come here to investigate this missing guard right?" A Male Noble Vampire— Regulus is on top of a talking building. He was accompanied by Marinus, a fellow Vampire Noble.

"We're gonna lure Georgy here, then we're gonna make a full assault on the village."

"Are you sure about this?"

The next night, Georgy and I were discussing about three of my undiscovered members from last night.

"Yes, last they were seen leading to the ruins of the Temple" I explained to him.

Georgy was then seen thinking something. "You think there's an enemy lurking around us?"

In response to his question, I just nodded. I can do an investigation alone. However, it was very risky when I did not know what kind of demon would appear later.

The most troublesome one was the Devil Nobles. They have unique abilities that even the heroes before had been very difficult to defeat.

"The five heroes have gone to the secret Temple to conduct their final Trial" Georgy said.

Each of the heroes brought 10 Guard Patrols and 10 Holy Knights to guard them while conducting the trial. I think Georgy's worried about their security considering that anyone can be targeted by a lurking enemy.

"You think those enemies are still in those ruins?" ask Georgy.

"Only that place is there any chance that they can hide around here" I replied.

Georgy then taps his finger at the table. For a few minutes, he was silent. "I will bring fifty Holy Knights there, you Patrol Guard stay here to protect the villagers."

After making plans, I then gathered all the members of the Patrol Guard to be more vigilant and commemorate the attack later.

Not long after, I saw the Holy Knights marching out of the village. To my dismay, the number of Holy Knights was more visible than Georgy had told me. Has there been a change of plans?

Not long after, I found the answer I was looking for. I saw a horse carriage in the middle of that line of Holy Knights.

Why did Lena go there too?

Half an hour later, the villagers were all evacuated to the village's secret basement. The quiet atmosphere filled the village. A full moon in the sky illuminated Runfeld village.

-ring!

I covered my eyes as suddenly a dazzling light appeared from the direction of the forest near the village. Not long after, I looked towards the sky the light source appeared.

"...!"

L saw... Dozens—no, hundreds of Vampires are flying fast towards here.

"Vampire! Get ready with direct contact!" my shout warned the Patrol Guard and Holy Knights who were in the village.

"Yes, kya, kya!" The vampire finally arrived. I heard them laughing with joy.

"Bire yourself!"

Our fight against the Vampires begins. They were seen hovering over the village. Not long after, the Vampires darted downward attacking the Guard Patrols with their sharp claws.

"Stay in groups with priests who can use Divine magic!" my instructions.

"Ught... " A Vampire strangled me, took me up in the air with him. I then thrust Baselard right into his heart.

"Gaghhhhhh!" The Vampire's mouth spits blood and then releases it around my neck.

- Broken!

I fell on top of a village building. From above here, it was seen that the Patrol Guard and Holy Knights were having a hard time dealing with the Vampires who had the advantage of mobility.

"Get the priests!"

The Vampires began to target priests who could heal the wounds of the Guard Patrols and Holy Knights.

Run and jump between the village buildings. I tried to get closer to one of the flying Vampires.

"Gyeahhh!" I jumped to shake Baselard right at one of the flying Vampires carrying a Patrol Guard.

"Bire yourself! We can beat them!"

Bomb!

An explosive sound suddenly sounded from the direction of the ruins. Thick smoke towered into the sky at the location of the ruins.

Down the roof of a house, I then immediately looked for my companion.

"Senior Kurt! I leave the one here to you! I'm going to the ruins, I have a bad feeling."

Hearing my words, Senior nodded. "Don't worry! Leave the ones here to us! You go to the source of the explosion!"

I then ran away from the village towards the ruins as quickly as possible.

"Lena... I'll come to you—"

On the other hand, precisely in the ruins of the old village, the Holy Knights, Lena, and Georgy were facing the Two Noble Vampires—Regulus and Marinus.

The explosion was an extremely powerful fire magic launched by Regulus to the Holy Knights. Luckily, Lena swiftly took out her protection magic leaving the Holy Knights only exposed to minor burns and losing their consciousness.

"Hehe... As expected of the Saint. Without your magic, they would all die leaving only ashes from their bodies" said Regulus, who was a little amazed at Lena's power.

"Now it's only two versus two, it's getting interesting." Marinus licked his lips in excitement at the real battle that was about to take place at this time.

On the other hand, Georgy tried to get up using his sword to help him stand up. He had only received a light wound from the attack earlier. Slowly, the wounds he received began to recover.

"Saint the Great..," murmured Georgy.

Lena insisted on coming with them. He has a bad premonition regarding the departure of Georgy and the other Holy Knights to investigate the case of the disappearance of the three Patrol Guard yesterday.

Lena used her Eyes of Truth. Maybe Lena can see which flow in the bodies of the two Vampires make her know the movement of the enemy.

Not long after, Regulus flew up into the sky and then again pointed his hands towards Lena. A fireball began to form between his two palms.

"I won't let it!" Georgy immediately darted towards Regulus.

But he was stopped by Marinus. "Hehe... I won't let you bother them!"

"Meteor Blast!" Regulus casts his spell. A huge fireball then shot towards Lena.

"Divine Shield!" A circular shield appeared to protect Lena.

Bomb!

A huge explosion of fire engulfed Lena's body. Back, thick smoke soared into the sky.

"Whirpool!" Georgy uses his magic sword to make a big wave of twisting wind shoot him towards Manirus.

"Guhhhhh!" Marinus bounced away under Georgy's attack. He then rushed towards Regulus.

Seeing Georgy darting towards him, Regulus smiled. He then stretched his hand towards Georgy.

"Aghhhh!" Georgy was suddenly pushed to the ground.

The puff of smoke then disappeared, revealing the figure of Lena who looked unharmed in the least bit by Regulus' fire magic.

"The defensive magic is very troublesome" Regulus said.

Georgy then got up, seen the wounds healed again as usual. Lena healed him with healing magic.

Seeing this, Regulus then called his partner—Marinus. "We're doing a second stage plan!"

Marinus nodded then collected the mana in his right hand. Seeing this, Regulus started flying darting towards Lena while shooting some fireball magic towards her.

However, none of his attacks had broken through to Lena. He then created a sword out of his blood.

"I won't let you!" Suddenly Georgy appears in front of him

When the two of them were about to clash, Regulus suddenly disappeared. He moved in with Marinus who had finished preparing his magic.

"Portal Dimension!" Marinus' hand touches Georgy's sword.

The two were then devoured by a ball of darkness that engulfed them both. Not long after that the figure of both disappeared as if swallowed by the earth.

Seeing his plan succeed, Regulus smiled wickedly. "Finally, it's just the two of us, Saint. Let's have fun."

Hearing her words, Lena did not panic and smiled back. "You seem to have been convinced of your victory, Devil."

Regulus gathered a large mana in his palm. "Of course, this time it's just a matter of our magic endurance contest."

He then spread out his hand to Lena. "Maximize magic—Meteor Blast!" A red fireball shot towards Lena.

Bomb!

Back, Lena used her defensive magic—Divine Shield. However, not only was it finished there, Regulus this time continuously fired powerful fire magic towards Lena.

"I will destroy your magic defense, Saint!"

-crack!

There was a crack in the defense magic circle around Lena's body.

"Maximize magic—Hell Paradise!" A red laser beam shot out destroying Lena's defensive magic. Lena's body was now open without any defense.

"Goodbye, Saint!" Regulus shoots a huge fireball back at Lena.

Lena's face looks reddish due to the heat of the fire that is shooting into her body. However, when death was about to pick her up, she still smiled and did not panic.

"Mirror Force!"

Bomb!

"Gahhhh!" There were burns on Regulus' body. He was confused about what really happened.

A puff of smoke still enveloped the place where Lena stood. As the puff of smoke disappeared, a black-haired man was standing before Lena protecting her from Regulus's attack.

"I'm sorry I'm late, Lena," Sirius said.

"No, I always believed you'd come to my aid." Tears began to pour down Lena's cheeks. He was unable to stem the happiness he felt being able to talk back to her.

"It's good to see you back, Lena."

"Yes... I miss you so much, Sirius... "

After months apart, the two of them were finally able to get back together.
