“A-father?”

“Dhafin aware! Call Doctor!”

“Mother?”

“Doctor! Patient aware!”

“Dad?”

“Dhafin? Dhafin hear Om? Open his eyes nak?”

“Dad?”

“Dhafin darling,”

“Dad!”

Finally he opened his eyes. His eyes blinked, getting used to the light entering the retina, the boy rubbed his eyes slowly. His puzzled gaze looked at the many uniformed people around him. His eyes continued to circulate, staring one by one at the smiling people towards him.

“Dad? Mother?”

“Kak Dhafin?” A child of her age emerged from the crowd of people in uniform. “You're awake?” The boy slammed into Dhafin's arms. Dhafin swiftly captured the body of a man smaller than him. “I don't think you'll wake up.” Whine while crying in Dhafin's arms.

“An,” call him while releasing a hug. “Same father My mother where?” Andrian looked at Dhafin with his wet eyes.

“Kak Dhafin..” Call him restrained.

“Don't call me brother. You call me brother because you want to snatch my toys, right?” Andrian took one step back. “An, why so many people?” Andrian shook his head slowly and stepped back.

Dhafin's astonished gaze was directed at Andrian who never answered his questions. Even the boy was walking backwards.

“Om Aber?” The doctor called smiled. “How many people? Dad, where's Hyera's mom?” Doctor Aber walked slowly towards Dhafin.

“Dhafin great, Dhafin strong.” The compliment.

Dhafin's eyes blinked innocently, then shook his head slowly. “Om, which father?” Ask her. “Where's mom?” Tears begin to build up in the eyes. “Which is my sister?!” Dhafin shouted in confusion. Andrian who stared at Dhafin with wet eyes kept retreating until his body hit the body of a boy who was smaller than him.

“Kak Dhafin why scream?” Plain asking.

Andrian looked back. Staring at one boy who was now looking at Andrian with a confused look.

“Kak Dhafin?”

“Sstt.” Cut Andrian. “You don't come here. You go to Hyera's room, go to her. She's alone.” Without further ado, Kenzie nodded and ran to Hyera's room.

Doctor Aber approached and hugged Dhafin's body. “Nak, we meet mom first yes, tomorrow we meet dad together.”

“Daddy is fine, right om?” No one answered Dhafin's question. Only a smile was given.

Aber's doctor told some nurses to bring her a wheelchair. Previously, Dr. Aber checked the overall consciousness and condition of Dhafin. A smile of relief was impaled when knowing the condition of Dhafin. The kid is too strong to worry about.

One nurse came by pushing a wheelchair. Some in uniform are retreating. Dhafin's eyes were still staring suspiciously at those people. His face was foreign, none of which he knew.

“Om, where's Hyera? Not seeing mom?” Doctor Aber smiled. “Later, Hyera see mom and dad later. Now Dhafin used to look at mom.” His reply was only answered by a nod by Dhafin.

“An, why hide?” Andrian turned his gaze. “Come with me.” Andrian's eyes were still staring freely, fuming away Dhafin's gaze at him. “Andrian!” Shouted Dhafin, and Andrian immediately ran towards him.

“I've just pushed her seat Kak Dhafin.” Andrian Pinta.

Everyone is silent. No one spoke, neither did Dhafin nor Andrian.

Their steps lead to a hallway a little away from Dhafin's room. Dhafin's hands held each other. His eyes stared straight at the increasingly fewer passageways in people's habitation. Not many people here, quiet, there are only a few nurses who are busy pacing back and forth.

Dhafin's eyes could not be separated from his straight gaze. Andrian occasionally glanced. His eyes were already glazed over, ready to spill at any moment. Andrian is a very good boy. Crying is easy to be sad too.

“Kak,” Call Andrian on Dhafin. “Here, I hold brother's hand.” There's no answer. Dhafin only according.

Their steps now came to a room where there was hardly anyone, no nurses, not even a doctor.

Doctor Aber pushed the white-painted door. Before his hand pushed back on Dhafin's wheelchair, Doctor Aber said slowly. “Dhafin strong boy. Don't cry, kid.” Simple sentences but able to make Dhafin stem his tears.

Door opens. One figure stretched helplessly on the sickly bed. Dhafin's heart breaks, barely standing if Andrian doesn't tell him to calm down and sit back.

“Sister, Brother must be strong.” Andrian said half-vibrating.

All three are still in the doorway. Dhafin stared at the figure of the middle-aged woman who had given birth to him, lying helplessly.

His eyes were increasingly glazed as his wheelchair was pushed closer to his mother's bed.

“Mother.” Calling lirih. One tear managed to escape. Andrian was even busy wiping his own tears.

Getting closer, the mother's hand is freed from the infuss hose. Quite shocked when the mother's eyes shook and opened slowly.

“Bu.” Call him again. The one called smile back. A single tear from the mother's wrinkled eyes flowed.

“Children mother.” His words were very slow and weak.

Dhafin. Kissing his mother's palm and crying. “Why is this mom? Which father?” Ask her.

The wrinkled hand moved slowly stroking the head of his firstborn. “Dhafin son mother,” Call her.

Still with his cries, Dhafin straightened his face and looked at the beautiful face of the mother.

“Bu.”

“Nak, dad is gone.” Another reality that hit his heart. Make his world collapse and shatter into pieces. His father who always protected him went home first.

“Hyera is still unconscious son, Hyera comma.” The next reality ruined his life, again. His sister whom he took care of and loved even on the verge of life and death.

“Mother strong bu..” Her request.

Smile again on the lips of the mother. “You promise me mother?” Hardened skid becomes Dhafin's answer.

“Ngak bu.” Answer her. “No appointment. Want mom to heal.” Continue with a disjointed voice.

“Children handsome mother. Son smart mother.” Said the Mother. “Jaga adek yes dear. No papa ya bigin adek himself. Sorry, same mom dad can not nemenin you guys until old.”

Dhafin shook his head great. “Mother don't talk about anything. We raised Hyera together bu.” The ink is continuous. “Mother should be strong.”

Small arm in response. “Mother is not as strong as you nak.” The wrinkled hand wiped away the soft tears on his son's cheeks. “Jaga Hyera yes dear. You guys should be happy. That gets along well, son. You have to be strong for your sake. Same with Hyera. Mothers and fathers love you guys.” Dhafin continued to shake violently with increasingly sobbing cries.

Dhafin looked into his mother's eyes deeply. The ever-favorite bar slowly faded away. Closed so slowly that it is gone forever. Lost in reality and lost in the future.

Andrian hugged Dhafin's weeping and rebellious body. Calling the name ‘ibu’ many times but never an answer again. To this day, the call has never been answered.

Aber's doctor told some nurses to take Dhafin and Andrian out. Although Dhafin continued to rebel, but this time, with his body still weak, Dhafin could do nothing.

Her mother was gone forever, in front of her. With a final smile and gaze, he was determined to become stronger in order to fulfill his promise to his mother.
