Send My Letter to Heaven's
Failed and Succeeded

“Ken, when are you honest to Hyera?”

Kenzie. Didn't answer the question he just asked.

“Time is running low, be honest before time does not side with you anymore.”

Binar Kenzie stared at his interlocutor. “I'll tell him when it's over.”

“Hai.”

I pensively for a moment. My eyes meet his. “Hai.” Reply with a big smile. “No school?” I asked just a pleasantry.

The boy walked closer. “You alone, not school?” Ask her and I'm silent.

My eyes look at his appearance. The boy was wearing a high school uniform. The clock shows at 7 am. I miss school. I miss leaving early in the morning. I miss greeting my friends. Missing the teacher. Yeah, I miss that with the school environment.

“Home schooling.” I answered, then against his lips formed the letter o.

“Can I help?” The bargain while moving the flower pot that is on the terrace of my shop.

“Thanks.” My reply. “You truant?”

The boy smiled, “It looks like. I don't like school. I'd rather spend my time learning to understand the tone than learn to understand the formula.” My forehead is frowning. “I don't like being forced to do anything that makes me uncomfortable.”

I chuckled in response to his words. Want to get the word out, afraid of being wrong and ending up making us awkward. Some accidental meeting between us, got me to know this kid a little. Although a little, I can tell that Jovin is a good person.

“Yuk yuk, air outside cold.” I bid, then Jovin smiled and stepped on his feet to follow me.

Before we actually entered, I observed the smile imprinted on his face.

A few times we met, I just found out that the boy had dimples. Sweet, like Mr. Sam. When he is silent, his face is flat like a collector who likes to collect debts, creepy. But if you smile like that, it's pretty sweet.

Jovin's body is high, I think the boy is taller than Kenzie. His body is also strong. Coupled with a school suit that wrapped his level body. Thinking he's one of those popular kids at school doesn't seem like a bad thing.

“You warm brown?” I bidarku, and Jovin nodded in agreement.

I walked to my shop pantry. Take two glasses of white color with a pattern of wildflowers encircling the glass. The glass Kenzie bought while he was out with Kimi.

My hand reached for the jar of brown powder on the white shelf. Pouring two spoons of chocolate powder on the twin glasses now in front of me. Add it with hot water a little carefully, then stir it using a small golden spoon.

I walked towards Jovin who was looking down at the magazine in front of him. His hands were busy flipping through magazines. Not the magazines that are often among artisans every morning, it's just a book with many types of flowers and meanings that I bought at the bookstore when I came home from the minimarket.

“The chocolate is ready, Mr. Jovin.” I tease.

Compared to our first meeting at the stop at that time, this meeting I think is quite warm. Jovin smiled more. He even greeted me with a smile. Not as usual that only displays his flat nose.

“Thanks.” He answered and immediately sipped the hot chocolate I just served. “Ouh hot.” I'm laughing a little.

“Not heavy rain. Only drizzle that does not stop from overnight.”

The boy nodded. Silence and awkwardness began to envelop us. I fell silent, watching Jovin from the distance I was sitting. While the child was still busy flipping through the flower book that became the center of attention earlier.

Jovin observes the flower picture along with its meaning written right next to and below the picture. Occasionally his head nodded, either nodding understanding of the meaning, or just amazed because the flowers have a beautiful meaning.

Jovin's hands continued to flip through sheet after sheet of books, and I occasionally glanced at him. A little scared if he's uncomfortable I noticed.

“You have a sister?” His eyes were still focused on the book, but that question I was sure was aimed at me.

“Iya. His name is Dhafin Jenaro.” Jovin nodded back.

The book he put on the table. I can see what flower is now his concern, the white gardenia. I remember the first time she came to my store, bought flowers and gave them to me.

I looked at him, and I could see he was looking at me too. His smile returned, this time wider than his smile just a while ago. His lips curved upwards, the dimple that had been hiding now appeared very sweet, his eyes curved like a crescent moon. Handsomest.

“Actually I don't like flowers.” My daydreams over the beautiful smile of Jovin faded instantly. I shook my head twice, then cleared the awkwardness around me.

“K-why?” I was a little nervous.

“Nothing interesting from flowers.” A little bulging eyes, want to ask ‘lthen what is the reason for giving me flowers,’ but I pare because I think everyone has different interests. Not everyone has to agree with what everyone else likes.

“I prefer and interested in music.” My head nodded in understanding. “My brother likes music. And I want to be like my sister.”

“You have a sister?” Askaqua.

“Mild producer. She's 22, probably dating your sister.” Greatable.

“What is the reason you cried at the beginning of our meeting? Failed to pass the music audition and afraid your brother is disappointed?” Jovin nodded at my question. “Then after?”

Jovin's eyes looked up. Her lips pursed cutely, her dimples back printed clearly. “I was scared to go home.” Acutely. “I'm afraid to meet my sister. I'm afraid she's upset, and I'm afraid of disappointing her.”

My hands were crossed with my chest, looking at Jovin who was now telling a story.

“Until I finally ventured to knock on her studio door and tell her everything.”

“About you who failed?” Guess me and the boy nodded.

“Same as you estimate.” My eyebrows fused not understanding. “The words are similar. He said he was not disappointed. And he also said that my failed ration has already fallen one. I can't give up.” Again, the smile puffed up on Jovin's lips.

“I told you also what.” My pride is leaning my back against the chair.

“But still. He's spent his nights and days making me a song, yes I'm not trying to make him proud.”

“You've tried Vin. Your brother would be proud. Failure and success are always side by side. As you walk towards your dreams, there will be two waiting for you in the future, fail and succeed. You're going to meet one of them. When you fail, you can learn from your failures, learn which ones you should improve and which ones you should replace or leave behind. That way you'll be closer to your success. Not always the first experiment is always a failure, but not always the first experiment is always successful.”

My hand again grabbed the glass with hot chocolate in it. Suck it in silence and then put it back on the table. “Why look at me?” I asked in wonder when I caught Jovin's eyes that seemed to intimidate me.

“You're wise once.” I don't know any compliments or insinuations, but I laughed at her words.

“Not wise, just say a word of encouragement to a person who is almost desperate.” Sindirku and Jovin laughed. This time the laughter was wider.

“Yes.. Yeah, I know that. Fortunately, I met you at that time. Otherwise I'd really kill myself.” I snorted bitterly, recalling how he who had only remained silent as the big truck got closer to him.

I also want to curse the driver of the big truck, already know there is a crazy person who does not want to move aside, he just drove on without stopping. It's like a soap opera.

“Harland Sanders was a success at the age of 70.” Jovin and I spoke together, then we fell silent. After a few seconds, we laughed hard.

“It knows.” My guts and Jovin laughed wider and wider until his eyes really looked curved like a crescent moon.

Success that we can not predict, the path of destiny of each person is different. There are people who try to succeed once, but not a few people who succeed after many times the experiment.

Failing is natural. Everyone has failed. No one is lucky in every life. The gravel is there, and that makes us realize that the road is not always smooth. The highway alone has a hole, but it does not rule out the possibility that the highway also has gravel material in it.

Instead of continuing to regret the failure why not in the correction and retried. There are many failed rations, but the opportunity to try and succeed is much more.
