MARRIED TO A CRUEL CROWN PRINCE

MARRIED TO A CRUEL CROWN PRINCE
A Stupid Woman Like You Cry

Chapter 30: A fierce woman like you is crying

An-Ying Lili gradually opened her eyes and found herself in an unknown place. "Ahh," Ying Lili let out a soft cry from the wound on her neck as she recalled what the crown prince had done earlier. He turned to look but, to his surprise, there was no one. He felt thirsty so he with the support of his elbow sat on the bed. On the small table beside the table, there was a water jar and a silver glass. He took the jar and poured water for himself into the silver glass. The water in the jar was enough to quench his thirst. Drinking water, he put a glass on the table and then put his foot on the floor.

"Jingguo," the crown princess muttered that name and stood up as she felt weak. The crown princess hesitated but she was supported by the crown prince. Seeing Sheng Li, Ying Lili struggled to release her grip but Sheng Li did not let go. Instead, the crown prince helped the crown princess sit on the bed. "You're not allowed to leave," Sheng Li said.

"A-i-not-need your permission. I want to meet Jingguo," Ying Lili said.

"Meet him when you're about to die" Sheng Li said.

"What's? W-what are you saying?" Ying Lili raised her head to look at Sheng Li who had a grim expression on her face.

Ying Lili blinked her eyes and tears flowed back down her cheeks. "You killed him? You are completely inhuman. Why didn't you kill me? I should be dead now," Ying Lili shouted at him as she gripped the sheets on the bed. Sheng Li clenched his fists that were behind his back and then grabbed onto Ying Lili's chin.

"For another man, are you willing to die?" Sheng Li questioned him, looking into his cold eyes.

"For every Juyan man, I'm willing to die. You should have killed me too," Ying Lili said to him and slapped her hand. He then stood up and walked forward as Sheng Li grabbed his arm and pulled it towards him. "That was before. Before marriage, you were allowed to die for Juyan's men but not after marriage," Sheng Li announced with a frown.

Ying Lili grabbed the water jar that was placed on the table and with full force hit Sheng Li with it on her arm but she did not budge. There was no effect of the punch on Sheng Li as he took the jar from Ying Lili's hand and said, "This urn is not enough to kill me. Use something big next time." He threw the jar on the floor and a falling sound echoed in the room.

She grabbed her thumb on Ying Lili's cheek but she turned her face away. Sheng Li wiped the tears from his face using his thumb and whispered, "I don't like fierce women like you to cry." Ying Lili furrowed her brows and more tears began to flow in her eyes. "At least let me see my friend," Ying Lili hoarsely pleaded with Sheng Li.

"I can't" Sheng Li replied.

Ying Lili turned to look at him and continued to look him in the eye for a while. "That's why you only deserve to be hated. Who has never lost anyone cannot understand the pain of others. You are a cruel hearted person who deserves to die in solitude. Sheng Li, stay away from me as far as possible because now even if I am going to die I will make sure to kill you first" Ying Lili said.

"Thank you for saying those words to me. I wish I could refrain from approaching you. I want to see how you are going to kill me," Sheng Li said with a grin and released Ying Lili's arm. "Xing-Fu," Sheng Li called out the name of the eunuch that went straight inside.

"Prepare the palanquin and send the crown princess to her inn," Sheng Li ordered. Xing-Fu lowered his head. "Your Majesty, please pass by here," Xing-Fu said softly. The crown princess followed Xing-Fu, leaving the room. General Xiao had just arrived there and bowed his head in front of the crown prince. "Your Majesty, everything is done perfectly," General Xiao said. Sheng Li nodded and told him that he was going to the court, so, in the meantime, General Xiao had to do the remaining work.

"Yes, Your Highness," said General Xiao. Sheng Li stepped out from there.

"Yes, Your Majesty," Sheng Li replied.

"OKAY. We will talk about this after the trial ends," Han Wenji told Sheng Li who shook her head in agreement. The court began a while as each minister took his seat.

"The issue of food distribution has increased again in the Southern Province of the Han Kingdom. Unwanted storms last month destroyed crops there which is the main reason for this tragedy. According to the report, people beat government officials there and looted grain from public distribution houses" the prime minister, Zhang Yong Wei, said.

"What about the military? Didn't you take control of them?" The Emperor asked the Prime Minister.

"The attack happened late at night by the aggrieved villagers," Zhang Yong Wei replied.

"How could the military be so lazy with this incident? Is this the whole truth?" The crown prince speculated.

"Your Majesty, the report is as far as I know it to be true" Yong Wei said.

"Village residents were disappointed and angry that the harvest had suddenly disappeared. But, the internal committee will investigate the matter further before taking any further decisions" the emperor announced.

"I'm sorry Your Majesty for the sudden interruption but I think I will lift this point. Corruption will increase during the distribution of crops. The southern provinces are vulnerable to adverse weather conditions so, I think proper management of food crops should be done and for that, we should educate the farmers there about that.

Besides, I think the Crown Prince should go there. From my spies, I have heard that some people are trying to raise their voices against the kingdom. The rebels must be put down in the meantime" asserted the first prince, Jian Guozhi.

"Prince Jian said the truth," the prime minister supported the first prince, followed by the other court ministers.

"The Crown Prince also has other duties to perform in the capital," the Emperor argued.

"But, Your Highness, the southern provinces are an important part of the kingdom. The Yangtze River, which flows mostly from that part, makes the soil rich in minerals. Such a rebellion is not good and if the Crown Prince goes there, it will strengthen the people's trust in us. A small rebellion led to a major revolt. Other than the Crown Prince, I don't think anyone else can handle this matter in a better way" Jian Guozhi stressed and looked at Sheng Li.

"The first brother said the truth. I'll go there and take control of the situation. It is my duty as Crown Prince to consolidate the entire kingdom under any circumstances" Sheng Li said.

Each minister began to praise Sheng Li and support his decision. The Emperor agreed to the decision and issued a Royal decree in which the crown prince was given the right to look at the situation in the Southern Province.
