Chapter 11: This is my kindness

In the morning, after a hot bath, the crown prince got ready. Two servants helped him wear a black inner robe with a golden fringe. On the back of the Dragon's coat, a tiger was carved using golden threads, symbolizing the Empire's strength and the crown prince's strength.

The crown was placed over Sheng Li's head in a bun and tied with a golden hairpin. "Your Majesty should go for the morning greetings with His Majesty afterwards, join the family breakfast hall together with His Majesty," Xing-Fu told the crown prince humbly.

The golden belt was tied around the crown prince's waist and he turned to Xing-Fu. "Is the crown princess ready?" Sheng Li asked.

"Your Majesty is ready and waiting for you," Xing-Fu replied with his head bowed.

"We're going to the crown princess' inn. Tell palace lady Xu that I will come there." Xing-Fu lowered his head further after hearing the crown prince's order and went to Zhenzhu Inn. General Wang came to the changing room and lowered his head, fusing his hands together by lifting them to his shoulders.

"What's going on? Are you here early in the morning?" Sheng Li asked him.

"Your Majesty, we have captured a spy from Juyan sent by the new King of Juyan to pursue us." General Wang told the crown prince that his expression darkened.

"Why did he send those spies to chase after us? Did you interrogate the spy?" Sheng Li questioned Wang Hao who shook his head in agreement.

"The spy is loyal to his master, so, speak nothing. Your Majesty, I think we will inform the Emperor regarding this, as it is a matter of rebellion where even after receiving power, the Juyan King uses other means. ." General Wang raised his suspicions.

"Wang Hao, King Juyan will not send spies when his daughter has just married me. He knows the consequences. The spy was deliberately sent but not from King Juyan, not from someone who was my enemy - to create destabilization in my position," the crown prince said.

General Wang put both his hands down and then looked at the crown prince. "Is His Highness referring to the first Prince because he is the only person who is unhappy with this alliance. The first prince can't stop your marriage to the crown princess so, he used this evil way to create a conflict." Wang Hao made some assumptions.

"I'm not sure but except for the first Prince, no one dared to do that. I will interrogate the spy after the public greeting and the court hearing will end," Sheng Li said. General Wang lowered his head and left the room while Sheng Li went to the crown princess's room.

An-Ying Lili was sitting near the dressing table when she heard that the crown prince was coming there. The servants left the inn as soon as Sheng Li stepped in. Ying Lili stood up from the chair and asked why she had come there.

"Will you not greet me first?" Sheng Li annoyedly asked from An-Ying Lili who looked into his eyes. "It seems that you are very desperate for my regards," Ying Lili proclaimed, angering the crown prince.

Sheng Li stepped forward and said, "No, I don't want your greetings. Instead, I want you to learn some of the manners you left at Juyan. Don't let anyone know about our relationship, otherwise you'll have to face my anger."

An-Ying Lili felt bad hearing Sheng Li's words so she snapped at him. "I don't want to tell anyone about our relationship because people already know about your boyfriend." Sheng Li furrowed his brows. "It looks like the crown princess is jealous of my lover. Should I tell you why? Because you didn't get the love and attention from your husband." he grinned and turned around.

"L-leave me," Ying Lili thrashed and grabbed Sheng Li's hand which had tightened her grip on her neck. "What do you mean someone like me? Just tell me in your eyes I am a pretty good Barbarian to your family and you. You're going to jail for hurting me last night. Your entire family will be exterminated now but, you must thank me that I saved you along with your little family." Saying this, he pushed the crown princess.

Ying Lili was hit to the table and the knife placed on the table cut off her hand. "Ahh," Ying Lili shouted softly and looked at her bloody hand. Sheng Li stepped towards him and clutched his injured hand. The crown princess groaned in pain. "You hurt me," Ying Lili said as she smacked her chest, using her other hand.

"It's my kindness to a good woman like you that I can still see you. It took me a few seconds to make your life a living hell, but I refrained from doing anything to you" Sheng Li said. Ying Lili's eyes were teary-eyed as Sheng Li continued to increase the pressure on his injured hand.

"You killed my father and you think it's the kindness you did to me. You have turned my life into hell. You hurt me when you have no rights over me" Ying Lili said. The two glared at each other as Sheng Li left his hand and stepped out of the room.

Ying Lili looked at her hand whose wound was deepening. "Miss, what happened to your hand?" Su Binxi, who had just entered, asked with concern. "I call the healer," Su Binxi affirmed and walked out. Ying Lili did not let any tears out of her eyes and took a deep breath. He was devastated inside but for his father, he had to be strong because that was the only way he could fight the inhumane crown prince.

The Royal Physician came running there and lowered his head. "Your Majesty, please sit down. I will treat your wounds, otherwise it will leave scars on Your Majesty's hands" the royal physician said. Su Binxi made the crown princess sit on a chair there and the royal physician began to bandage the crown princess's wounds.

When it was finished, the royal physician left. "Who put the knife there?" Court Lady Xu asked angrily from the servants there who had lowered their heads.

"Miss Court Xu, I was the one who put the knife there. We will go to the greeting room," Ying Lili said and stood up from the chair. The Palace Mistress lowered her head, taking orders from the crown princess. They then went to the greetings room.

As they came to the central imperial palace, they met some princes that Ying Lili could not recognize. "Your Highness, this is the second prince and to the left of the second prince is the third prince," whispered palace lady Xu near Ying Lili's ears who shook her head.

"I'm sorry for not being able to recognize second brother and third brother," Ying Lili said as she lowered her head slightly, lowering her gaze.

"The crown prince will not apologize. I am the second Prince of Yongzheng and this is my third brother, Rong Zemin. We are happy to meet His Majesty. The rumors are true. Her Majesty is a heavenly beauty. But , where is the crown prince? Is His Majesty not accompanying the crown princess?" Rong Zemin asked and looked back.

"Third brother, thank you for asking about me," Rong Zemin turned around as he looked at Sheng Li who came towards An-Ying Lili and stood beside her. "My dear crown princess, I'm sorry. There is urgent work so I cannot come to your room" Sheng Li confirmed.

"My dear daughter, how did this happen?" Sheng Li asked, showed his fake attention, and then looked at the Xu palace woman. "It seems that due to old age you are having difficulty in working," Sheng Li said. Ying Lili retracted her hand and spoke. "It's okay. I wasn't careful and ended up getting hurt."

"You must be careful, my crown princess," Sheng Li confirmed. Rong Zeming and Yongzheng smiled looking at the two. "It looks like the crown prince is in love with an extraordinary beauty," whispered Yongzheng in the ear of Rong Zemin who shook his head in agreement.

"Indeed, I will be careful of you," Ying Lili said in a low voice and shifted her gaze from the crown prince.
