MARRIED TO A CRUEL CROWN PRINCE

MARRIED TO A CRUEL CROWN PRINCE
I'm Not That Easy to Kill

Chapter 2: I'm not that easy to kill

A eunuch walked into the room with his head bowed. "I'm sorry for this disturbance, Your Majesty. The Crown Prince had arrived," he passed the message to the three of them.

"I'm coming. Be sure not to let the Crown Prince get angry at any cost" Song Wai ordered. Eunuch shook his head in agreement and left from there. Song Wai then turned to the queen and her daughter. "My queen, your presence is a must. Please come with me. An Lili, don't come out until you're summoned" Song Wai said.

The Queen stood up and stood beside Song Wai. Ying Lili noticed her mother was unwilling to get her to marry the crown prince. “Mother, don't worry. Everything was fine,” she assured her mother who nodded. Both Song Wai and Chou Mei left the room while Ying Lili's assistant, Ruyi walked inside.

Bowing in front of his daughter, Ruyi asked, "Miss, is everything okay? What did His Majesty tell you?"

"I married the crown prince. There is no other way to save our people" Ying Lili announced. Ruyi could not believe her ears. He knelt down and started crying. "Miss doesn't have to sacrifice herself for this. We have all heard how cruel the crown prince is. Can Your Majesty find no other way?" Ruyi asked as she lowered her eyes.

Ying Lili stood up from the bed and made Ruyi stand up by grabbing her hands. "Stop crying. Someday I will have to get married so, why not this alliance? Do you think he can hurt your daughter?" Ying Lili asked Ruyi as she wiped the tears on her cheeks.

"Miss, I know you're strong enough to make a man cry but-"

"Even he can't do anything to your daughter. I was born strong and no one could hurt me. Don't cry," Ying Lili told Ruyi with a small smile on her lips.

A gust of cold wind surrounded the palace as soon as the Crown Prince stopped the horse in front of the gate of the Juyan Imperial Palace. He got off his horse and saw King Juyan standing at the entrance with his queen and the others to greet him.

Sheng Li noticed that they had lowered their eyes. He stepped forward and entered the gate. "We are overwhelmed by your presence, Your Majesty. Please pass by here," Song Wai humbly told the Crown Prince.

"I'm not here to sit down and talk to you. You have already thrown the dice and also won against me. Very clever move by the little king. Bring your daughter, right away." The cold, commanding, and threatening tone gave the King and Queen bodies goosebumps along with the few ministers standing behind them.

Song Wai gathered all her courage speaking, "Your Majesty, please come in. You are tired after such a long journey. Let us serve you for one night." Song Wai said every word consciously not to anger the crown prince in any way.

Sheng Li at lightning speed took out his sword and placed it on Song Wai's neck. The queen immediately knelt down and begged the crown prince to leave her husband. "Please, don't do anything to my husband." Seeing the queen kneeling, the responsible minister and the servants also kneeled with their heads lower.

Sheng Li chuckled and spoke, "King Song, you made the biggest mistake of your life by putting your daughter into this marriage alliance." A sharp sword tip pierced through Song Wai's skin and blood started dripping from him. "You saved yourself and Juyan's people from me, but what about your daughter?" Sheng Li questioned Song Wai who was teary-eyed. Chou Mei was surprised to hear that and started crying.

"I gave you two choices: either to die or to let your daughter be killed" Sheng Li said.

"The queen is braver than the king. Why don't you let him reign in this little kingdom and die at my hands?" Sheng Li confirmed with a smirk. General Wang stepped forward when he heard Sheng Li, "Let me handle this myself." General Wang stopped in his place after hearing that.

"Your Majesty can't kill anyone here. I was convinced by Emperor Han himself," after much hesitation Song Wai declared and then ordered his eunuch assistant to carry the royal decree.

"King Song, I don't need permission to kill anyone from the emperor. I can tell him how you disrespect me. He was my father, so, he wouldn't say anything to me. Please meet your queen before dying," Says Sheng this Li pierced the sword deeper into Song Wai's skin. The queen pleaded with Sheng Li to forgive her husband, but she had made up her mind.

"STOP!" A voice echoed in the air. Sheng Li loosened his grip on the sword and tilted his head to look at the source of the sound. Song Wai after hearing the voice of her daughter trembled in fear. An Ying Lili stepped forward while her anklet clang.

Ying Lili stopped right beside her mother who was still lying on the ground with her head down. "Mother, please stand up," she said as she pulled her mother.

"An Lili, I've told you not to come here then why don't you listen to me?" Song Wai complained. The sword was still hanging under his neck. Ying Lili stepped forward and gripped the sword with her hand, looking into Han Sheng Li's eyes.

"Don't try to hurt my father," Ying Lili said sternly. Sheng Li noticed that the princess was indeed beautiful from jade. His snow-white skin and pearl eyes were enough to amaze the person standing in front of him. Sheng Li had heard about her beauty from General Wang when they came towards the Imperial Palace but he could not believe it until he saw it for himself. "That's why first brother fell in love with you" Sheng Li muttered. He tried to take his sword back and found Ying Lili grasping it firmly as if she had trained it.

"Are you willing to die for your people?" Sheng Li asked Ying Lili, looking into her eyes. Chou Mei told Ying Lili to retreat when a female servant came forward to take Ying Lili back.

"Tell your father to keep his mouth shut if he doesn't want to lose his life" Sheng Li told Ying Lili as he looked into her eyes.

"Dad, we don't have to be afraid of him. If he has to kill us then he will do it now," Ying Lili declared in a stern tone.

Sheng Li was amused at Ying Lili's response. "You didn't answer the question before," Sheng Li said.

"I'm not that easy to kill," Ying Lili replied immediately. His gaze was fixed on Sheng Li.

Sheng Li smiled and then grabbed onto Ying Lili's hand from where she was holding that sword, trying to release her grip from Sheng Li's hand but it was useless. Leaning closer to Ying Lili's ears, Sheng Li whispered, "I've never met anyone like you until now who was this brave. It'll be fun playing with you. You also have a sharp tongue."

"Prepare stretcher. We left because the princess was here. Lower your eyes if you don't want to be charmed by it," Sheng Li announced loudly as he leaned back and released Ying Lili's hand.
