Chapter 25: I'm playing with you

Ying Lili furrowed her brows after hearing the crown prince. "Leave us alone," Sheng Li ordered the servants there. Palace Mistress Xu and Eunuch Xing-Fu who stood a few meters away from the crown prince and crown princess beckoned the servants to leave and then the two of them walked out, close the door behind them.

"Serve the food," Sheng Li said to Ying Lili.

"What do you mean?" Ying Lili asked. "What do you mean I have to die?" Ying Lili puzzledly questioned Sheng Li, looking into his eyes.

"Why? Will you sacrifice your life?" Sheng questioned Ying Lili.

Ying Lili chuckled at the crown prince's question. "Why did I sacrifice my life just to fulfill your wish? Is my death important to you? Oh, I forgot that your lover won't be your official wife. You two are really power hungry. Just kill me like you killed me, father," Ying Lili insisted and took her eyes off her.

Sheng Li found Ying Lili was on a rampage. "I didn't kill your father. I don't know why you don't believe my words," Sheng Li said and sneered. "And, retract your words about Xue Yu Yan and I," Sheng Li said in a threatening tone.

Ying Lili frowned at him. "Nobody would believe a savage like you and I wouldn't take back my words. You should see me in front of your eyes every day but, I won't die until I kill you," Ying Lili said proudly and stood up from the chair.

The crown princess turned to leave when she heard Sheng Li's laughter that confused Ying Lili and she turned to look at him. "Why are you laughing?" Ying Lili asked him. Sheng Li stopped laughing and replied, "I'm playing you. I want to see what your reaction is when I'm going to say that you have to die. As I thought, you crossed your line in cursing me." Ying Lili doubted her answer and skeptically peeked at her.

"Don't doubt my intentions. As I said before, if I have to kill you then I will not bring you here. The food is getting colder and we're already late for a very interesting match between us" Sheng Li with a grin. Ying Lili's anger subsided and she sat down.

"You were so quick to believe my answer," Sheng Li said, smiling at him. "Don't confuse me," Lili sneered at him and served him some food. "Eat," Ying Lili said then filled her plate with food. Sheng Lili started eating and recalled the morning incident after she finished her bath.

"General Wang, are you here? Early in the morning like this?" Sheng Li asked as the servants helped him put on a red-colored coat.

"Yes, Your Majesty. I'm thinking of meeting you before leaving for the Southern province" Wang Hao replied. Sheng Li told the servants to leave the room and sit on the ground chair made on the left side of his room on a pillow and gestured for Wang Hao to take the seat that did so.

"Your Majesty, there's something you should know. Our main spies know this from the Prime Minister's residence" Wang Hao said in a serious tone. After the general told the crown prince the information, he asked His Majesty what he would do.

"Wang Hao, is this information correct?" Sheng Li asked for confirmation with a damp voice.

"Your Majesty, I confirm it. Miss Xue is chasing the throne. You know how much the first prince wanted the throne but his one wrong decision four years ago, made him lose the position of crown prince. The empress is from the family of the prime minister so, it is striking that Miss Xue will leave according to them," Wang Hao said.

"You're not lying, are you?" Sheng Li asked Wang Hao doubtfully.

Wang Hao felt uneasy because the crown prince doubted him but, he also knew that the crown prince must have admired Xue Yu Yan since his childhood. "Your Majesty, I dare not lie to you," Wang Hao said.

"I'm sorry I doubted you. It's just that I told Xue to wait for me but, I guess I'm late for that. The first prince had always paid attention to the things I had - first, the throne and now my lover Xue Yu Yan, "sheng Li said with a sad expression.

"Your Majesty, I don't think that the first prince looked at Miss Xue instead, he looked at the crown princess. He even sent spies as personal servants for the crown princess. Your Majesty, as your close friend, I'd like to suggest to you that to see the Crown Princess as your woman. The most unexpected relationships sometimes become beautiful. "Stranquil as the ocean?" Sheng Li laughed inwardly. “Never use such words of praise for her in front of me. He wasn't as calm as the ocean but he was a stray cat who was always ready to snap at me. No one dared to call me by my name other than that woman.not afraid of me," Sheng Li complained.

Wang Hao smiled hearing the crown prince's words towards the princess but then he retreated to his neutral face. "Your Majesty, that's why Your Majesty is the most perfect woman for you. Most men like shy, meek, and relaxed women but you are different from them. A brave, strong, and fierce woman is suitable for you," Wang Hao stated.

Sheng Li smiled faintly at Wang Hao. "I don't think so," replied Sheng Li. "General Wang, you must go. May your trip be safe and continue to give me information about you" Sheng Li said. Wang Hao shook his head in agreement and stood up from the chair. "Your Majesty, take care of yourself and Your Majesty," said Wang Hao leaving the room.

Sheng Li felt a jolt in his arm and he came to a realization from his mind. Ying Lili was beside him, looking at him in a daze. "What are you thinking? I have long called your name. I've finished eating and you haven't even eaten a single grain" Ying Lili said. "Did he think of a way to get rid of me?" Ying Lili thought and returned to her seat. Sheng Li did not reply to her and returned to eating.

"You didn't put spices in my food today, why?" Sheng Li curiously asked as he chewed the food inside his mouth.

"You want me to?" Ying Lili asked with raised eyebrows.

"Why do you always ask me instead of answering?" Sheng Li annoyedly asked. An-Ying Lili did not answer him. "What is he hiding? I think if she is going to marry Miss Xue, I don't need to see her face. But he changed his decision so suddenly. Should I speak to Miss Xue?" thought Ying Lili.
