Look at Me, My Husband

Look at Me, My Husband
S1. Chapter 8

“Iya, Nai. What's up, honey?” greet Wira, as soon as the expensive phone stuck in the ear. Without caring about his movements accompanied by Stevi's cynical gaze.

“Mas sorry, Nai home alone. Nai already in taxi.”

The words that captured the hearing senses of the Hero, spoken in the soft voice of Naina, made the feelings of the Hero be hit with guilt. Spread his eyes, looking for a wall clock. His mind froze, it was almost eleven o'clock at night. He fell asleep, leaving his wife to wait until late.

“Iya Nai, Mas also want to go home. Nai does not need to stop by anywhere, later go home Mas buy her egg martabak,” said Wira. Her feelings were anxious to think of Naina coming home alone, in the middle of the night like this.

“Impard Mas. Nai be careful, if there is anything immediately contact Mas.” The man advised, with a sense of urgency to fill his chest cavity.

After turning off her phone connection, the soft voice of Wira who was lying while talking to Naina disappeared, changing into a horrible firm voice with no sweet impression at all. The man seemed to have two personalities only, his angel side would appear when faced with his wife, but would change horribly when faced with Stevi.

“I'm tired of Stev, I don't want to argue anymore,” cerocos Wira, smilingly staring at the gift box lying on the table.

“I've guessed. Ckckckck!” The hero returned annoyed.

“Lack let alone all this time I've been to you, until the gift that should belong to Nai was still you steal,” said Wira.

“Mas, can't be fair to me. Just once,” pinta Stevi with teary eyes. This time Stevi's tone softened, softened than usual. His eyes were trailing the directional movements of the man he claimed to be the husband.

Seen Wira snatched the rough gift box and pocketed it into her pants pocket. Without saying much, the man had already rushed towards the exit.

“Mas, can you stay here once. I'm also your wife,” pinta Stevi in her potent tone. Suddenly hugged tightly to the waist of the Hero, immersing his face in the burly back that froze in place.

Wira's hand, which had been tightly grasped by the door leaf, fell when she heard Stevi's soft voice.

“I'm sorry, Stev. Poor Naina, she needs me now.” The spirit softened, not speaking as harshly as before.

“Can't treat me as sweet as you treat Naina. Even our relationship existed before Naina came into your life, even if only as good friends. You know me better than Naina. Can't love me like you love Naina, Mas?” pinta Stevi, tightening her arms, kissed the woman's back.

“Sorry.”

“Can't, don't just look at me as the mother of your daughter but look at me as your wife, Mas. I'm your wife too. Shouldn't I get the same rights as Naina. Get your attention, your love and your heart too,” whine Stevi.

“Sorry.”

Both of the Wira's hands just dangled stiffly on the left and right sides of his body. There was not the slightest intention to hold Stevi's hand that locked in her muscular flat stomach.

“Even I know, deep down in your heart, that you wouldn't let me call you the same way Naina called you. Isn't that right, Mas?” ask Stevi.

“Sorry. I have to see Naina. It's late, he's out there alone. He's different than you. She was a nice girl when I got married and brought her to Jakarta.”

“Am I not a good girl in your eyes, Mas. Tega you, Mas.”

Stevi's tears broke, after hearing Wira's statement, the man who married her two years ago. During these two years, he tried to melt the feelings of the Hero in various ways, but the man remained self-fortified. Even Nola, their daughter could not make Wira waver. So far, Wira has stayed by his side only because of Nola.

“Mas, can't accompany me tonight? Only once. I'm also your wife,” pinta Stevi pleaded.

“I'm sorry, Stev. Stay where you are. Because when you force forward, it will only make you hurt yourself,” said Wira.

“I have to go home. Tomorrow at noon I will meet Nola,” saying goodbye Wira, opening the hand of Stevi who locked her stomach.

“Even you never thought this was your home either, Mas. Every farewell, you always say the word home,” Stevi said in between his stuffing.

Wira's car entered his yard, when the day had changed. The hero glanced at the clock on his wrist, already past 12 p.m. Being held back too long on Stevi's doorstep made her spend longer to get home.

There was guilt, again having to go home at night and make Naina wait. Get out of the car while carrying a box of martabak eggs that are still warm. Fulfill his promise to his wife.

With a spare key, the hero enters the house. The atmosphere of the house is dark, it is likely that Naina and Mbok Sumi have fallen asleep. Putting a box of eggs on the dining table, Wira hesitates whether to wake Naina or let her continue her sleep.

After sipping a glass of water from the refrigerator, Wira chose to meet Naina in the room. Sure enough, if his wife was asleep, especially after midnight.

The eyes of the Hero widened as he opened the door of the room did not find his wife inside. Their beds were still neat, untouched with pillows and bolsters still laid out in place. There's no sign of Naina in there.

Half-running, the black net swept through the entire room. Moving to walk in closet, the results remain nil. There was no Naina there.

“Nai ..”.

“Nai ..”.

“Nai ..” The woman called out his wife's name repeatedly. Panic began to whack while looking all the way to the bathroom, Naina was not found.

Run out, bang on Mbok Sumi's room.

“Mbok!”

“Mbok!”

“Mbok!” shouted Wira, almost crazy. The man was already about to break down the door of his house assistant's room, lucky Mbok Sumi immediately opened the door.

“What's up, Sir?” mbok Sumi asked with her sleepy face. The housekeeper was already asleep, suddenly waking up listening to the screams of his employer.

“My wife, have you seen my wife? I've searched in her room, but no.”

Mbok Sumi shook her head.

“Sorry sir, I slept since eight p.m. Not hearing mom coming home,” said Mbok Sumi.

“If my wife hasn't come home, now where is my wife, Mom?” ask the lady, nervously. Bad things happened to Naina. Moreover, his wife was outside alone, in the middle of a blind night like this.

Wira's panic intensifies when she calls Naina's inactive mobile number.

“Nai, where are you, Darling?” the whisper almost cried. His body was squeezed, regretfully clumping on the chest. If anything happened to Naina, she would not be able to forgive herself.
