Vienna, Austria.
Tonight was long, Naina since just back and forth on her single bed staring at the ceiling of the room. Soon it will enter spring, the temperature will begin to warm again. There will be an unwitting change of time, just like the previous year. Austria will advance an hour of their time each spring entry.
There are many stories re-spinning in Naina's brain, recalling her sad story during her time in Austria. Even though he has come so far, he is grateful. Without feeling it, his cry at the beginning of his arrival in this country slowly changed into a smile. He began to get used to his work and longing for the homeland.
At the end of the story, he passed twelve full moons in Austria. The contract of employment will end soon. And he could return to his homeland, hugging his little princess back. Bring a handful of despair, for their lives that are much better than before. Stand on your own feet, not on someone else's shoulders.
“Angel, you haven't slept?” suddenly a masculine voice broke the daydream. The man stiffened on the bed only moved his head and occasionally shifted his hands.
“Yes, Sir. Can anyone help?” naina asked, looking to the side. Looking towards Pieter who was sleeping in the room with him. There's always something Pieter wants every night. The thirst, the desire to go to the toilet, the back is hot and there are many more, which finally makes Naina understand why she had to room with her employer.
Now the demands were much lessened when Pieter was able to go to the toilet on his own. He had to pay attention to the moisture of Pieter's butt and back skin all day wearing a diaper and lying on the bed. He must change positions frequently and check that the man's skin is not injured and makes things worse.
“I want to drink. Please get it for me!” pinta Pieter smiled.
“Good, wait a minute.” Naina got up from her lying position, hurriedly poured a glass of water from the bottle of mineral water and handed it to Pieter.
“This Sir.”
Even to just drink water, Naina must expend more energy. It was seen that the woman helped Pieter get up and sit down to take a sip of the glass of water in her hand.
“Already. Anything else, Sir?” naina asked after laying down her master's body to its original position.
“No more, Angel. You can sleep now,” said Pieter, smiling. Looking to the side, looking at the movement of Naina who was preparing to return to the contest.
There is a sense of unwillingness to release Naina who in a few days will return to the homeland. Almost 365 days together, sharing likes and sorrows, of course, is not as easy as letting go. Want to make it survive here, but it's impossible. Naina is a smart woman, Pieter also does not want Naina to spend her time on this job.
“How are you feeling, Angel? A few more days to meet your daughter,” asked Pieter suddenly.
“I can't wait for that day, Mr.” Naina closed her eyes, hiding her sadness every time she talked about Vienna, her daughter.
“Are you going to miss me, Angel?” pieter asked with a faint smile. The man turned to look at the ceiling of the room.
There was a sigh, before a feminine and meek voice came out of Naina's lips.
“Early come to Austria, I want to go home. You remember when Mr. David took me to see you in the hospital. I really wanted to go home right then and there,” explained Naina biting her lips, retelling her first experience.
“The job of taking care of Mr who was then completely paralyzed by an accident, made me down.” Naina continued.
Pieter. During this time Naina never poured out her heart. Never protested or expressed objection. He realized, taking care of it at that time was really hard work. He can't move. From his waist up was also unable to move, his hands and body stiffened helplessly.
Let alone eating or bathing, to just scratch, he needs Naina to do it. Pieter recalled, before Naina there were many workers accompanying her. Alternately, men and women, but all stopped because they could not afford this job.
“If you are down with your father at that time, I am also struggling to strengthen my heart for this job. This job is hard, not because you have to carry your father but .. Just imagine that I who are not a graduate nurse must be ready with all the tasks even changing diapers and removing dirt,” Naina said softly.
“That makes me strong is only my daughter, Vienna. Every time I feel like I'm not strong anymore, I remember my purpose in coming to Austria for my daughter. I can't go home because Indonesia is far away. With what I came home, even then I had no grip. What should I do, whereas I have signed a contract of employment for a year.” Naina.
Pieter smiled wryly.
“I strengthen my heart, there is no easy job. Especially if I just graduated High School. Working and earning this high salary is already amazing. If I had stayed in Indonesia, I wouldn't have been anything either.” Naina tears up her eyes.
“When do you feel this job is heavy?” pieter asked, looking to the side. He could see Naina's tears falling over the temple.
“The first month, when you were admitted to the hospital I still felt a little comfortable because some of my duties were assisted by nurses. New problems arise when you are allowed to go home. I have to take care of my father alone. Not to mention your unstable emotions. Rage frequently. If you need something, you need to hurry. No waiting.” Naina told him and repeated her story.
“Yes, my emotions weren't stable back then. A man who can do anything on his own suddenly cannot do anything. Can you imagine? Just to scratch or wipe the sweat alone, I need someone.” Pieter is now telling the story.
“Yes, that sucks a lot. It took me a few months to get myself comfortable, Mr.” Naina explains.
“Then now?” ask Pieter.
“I feel taking care of you is like taking care of my own son, like my own father. There's no more confusion. Because a lot of the time we spent together, shared a lot of things. You have positioned myself as part of you. We wear the same perfume, eat from the same place, sleep in the same room. Even I know all about you, which no one else knows. Sometimes there are conditions in which we have to share food and drink. At first I was uncomfortable, the more I got used to it.”
“Thank you, Angel. If you are happy with your return to Indonesia. I'm the other way around, I hope you'll keep extending our employment contract.”
“Sorry, Sir.” Naina said sadly.
“Andai .. I offered you a job in Indonesia. Do you want to take it?” ask Pieter in doubt.
“Take care of the father again? As now?” ask Naina quickly.
“No. Working in the company. Help me in the company,” explained Pieter.
Naina seemed to think before finally answering. “In Jakarta? In the company Pak Pram?” ask Naina to make sure.
“Ya, in that company. You can learn a lot of things. If you want, I don't mind financing you college again.” Pieter is still trying to persuade.
Deg—
Naina remembers Dennis. The same offer was made by Mbok Sumi's adopted son when he expressed his intention to work abroad and chose to accept this job. Dennis resolutely refused, but the man could not do anything because the decision was in his hands. In the end, Dennis could only support whatever his life choices were.
