"Hows it? Without needing me to explain, you already know the benefits of protecting your brother, right?"
"Yes, you don't have to explain. However, I have a question. Why now and why buk–" I stopped. My eyes widened to see Tera. "They're ears bleeding."
"Aah?" Tera rubbed the blood on her ear lightly. "It seems that the antidote effect is running out."
"You're done? Don't say ... "
"Yes. Mom's been injecting poison into my body ever since I became an intelligence. If I don't drink the antidote every 24 hours, I'm dead. And, the last time I drank that antidote was last night."
"Ke–"
"Of course I was in a hurry. Just this afternoon, I was planning to kill my sister. If you die, there's no reason I want to follow his orders, right? I suspect you'll kill me too. And, my guess is right. Last afternoon, I got information stating that the supervising agent wouldn't give the antidote for tonight. That's why, I went straight to Ibla and set up this meeting."
Queen Amana is completely insane. He was even willing to kill his two children just to burn the war spirit.
"So, Gin, are you willing to accept my request?"
How could I refuse the request of the person who was already at the end of his life? Damnit damnit!
"alright. However, on one condition."
"What is that."
"You say goodbye to your brother, right now, with that mouth of yours."
"...Gin, you can make my brother see me dead in front of his eyes."
"Young man, listen to me. I've lost many people I love. And, until now, I still regret it. If his death was indeed inevitable, the only thing I regretted was not being able to be by his side at that time. I can only imagine how scared and lonely they will be at the end of their lives. And, up to now, I'm still sorry and angry at myself."
I called Tera the young man. I am younger than him. Haha.
"You're asking if I could let your brother see your death? Yeah, I got the heart. Now, I'm back to asking. Tera, do you have the heart to make your brother regret and be unsettled for the rest of his life? After this, there is a chance that your brother will not be able to sleep well at night. Every time she closed her eyes, a shadow about your last moment would cross her mind. He would blame himself continuously. Is that what you want?"
"That's...."
"Let's go in. You said goodbye in person."
I got up and opened the window. In my left hand, there was still a bottle of wine.
Tera complied and came with me. We had just entered, a figure was already standing behind the window.
"Gin, why are you raising your voice? I'm trying to sleep, you know..."
I realized that Rina was awake. Supposedly, my voice was covered by the night wind and windows. However, looking at the awakened Rina, perhaps she also had a sensitive sense.
Lina stood up just by wearing a shirt and panties. If it's normal, maybe I'll take issue with her clothes. However, at this moment, it did not cross my mind at all.
Tera could die at any time. This is more important.
"I'm just talking to your sister."
I answered Lina while closing the window behind Tera.
"Sister?"
Rina turned her head to the left while rubbing her eyes.
"Hello, sis."
"Eh, Tera? This feeling, you really are Tera!" At that instant, Rina jumped into Tera's chest and hugged her tightly. "She, you miss you. I'm grateful you're safe."
"Sister...." Tera received her brother's body and fell down.
Tera smiled wryly. He could not answer his brother's happiness. Tera was aware that right now she would only bring sadness to her brother. However, if Tera considered my words, she would have to brave herself to reduce her brother's suffering in the future.
On the other hand, Tera's face was getting pale. I'm not sure he's pale just because he doesn't have the heart. There was a possibility that the poison in his body was getting worse. My guess is supported by the blood flow in Tera's ears getting heavier.
"Sister," Tera grabbed onto Rina's body tightly, not wanting to take it off. "The details will be explained by Lugalgin. However, I want you to listen to me carefully."
"Tera, what's wrong?"
"Tera, what do you mean?"
Rina started to rebel. He wanted to break away from Tera and see her face.
Tera did not let Rina off just like that. He continued to hold onto Rina tightly. However, Tera's face grew pale. Right now, I'm sure, Tera is exerting all her strength to hold onto Rina.
I sat down beside them, put the gun on the carpet, and pressed down on Rina's back.
"Rina, don't have to fight. Just live this moment in your sister's arms."
"Thank you, Lugalgin." Tera smiled at me.
After feeling Rina's uncontrollable body again, I took my hand off from Lina's back and downed the bottle of wine again.
"Sister, thank you for being such a good brother all along. And, I'm sorry for making you miserable."
Rina did not answer. He's calm. However, faintly, I could hear her voice that was as unwilling as it was on Tera's chest. Right now, I'm sure Rina has realized that there's something wrong with her sister. However, I'm not sure she's aware that her sister is going to die tonight.
"Sister, maybe I'm selfish for doing this. However, I thank you for your brother for accompanying me tonight. Thank you, sis. For the future, Lugalgin will protect brother. Excuse me. And, again, accept...."
Tera was unable to finish her sentence. Tera's two hands slumped from Lina's body. His head fell forward, leaning onto Rina's shoulder.
"Te.ra..."
Now, replace Rina who hugged Tera's body tightly, not wanting to let her go. She cried with Tera in her arms. During that time, I only rubbed Rina's back while drinking wine. After nearly an hour of crying and huffing, Lina finally fell asleep on Tera's body.
I asked Ibla to take care of Tera's body. No need to do an autopsy. Simply put in the morgue until Rina was ready to bury him.
From the information Ibla got, supposedly, Tera was dead by evening. However, Tera could continue to fight back even extending her life up to several hours to ask me for help.
I am grateful to be able to force Tera to live the final moment of life with her brother.
Meanwhile, I carried Rina back to the bed. I'm not gonna do anything to her. I just let Lina sleep in my arms while caressing her gently.
Right now, maybe, Rina's condition is the same as I was when I heard of Tasha's death and the orphanage's children. Lastly, when I heard of Mari's death, I felt this too. Without the Emir and Inanna present, I might have returned to the old habit of sleeping in Tasha's tomb. It was thanks to the Emir and Inanna that I was able to accept Mari's death a little better.
If I let Rina sleep in her bed alone right now, I was worried that she would start to develop abnormal, borderline crazy habits, like me. That's why, right now, I'm trying to give Rina comfort and tranquility, just like Inanna and Emir have done to me.
In her sleep, Rina still shed tears and called out to Tera.
"Te.ra..."
