Chapter 183 – Early Hatred pt 1

Zababa Alhold was the last member of the Alhold family who had no control. At least, that's what Fahren and Arid knew. This story tells of Zababa Alhold and why she made me, Lugalgin so, hated by her successors.

Zababa Alhold is a true Alhold. In addition to incompetent, Zababa has properties that are arguably characteristic of an Alhold, lazy and likes to avoid problems. When the Kish kingdom collapsed, Zababa exiled and became a commoner. In other words, he ran away from his responsibilities as a royal family.

After the Kish kingdom was completely destroyed, there were civil wars everywhere. All nobles and parties with ideologies and ambitions led the war. The war lasted several years.

Since Zababa was a lazy person, she chose to become a nomad, moving from place to place, avoiding conflict. Zababa took along his wife Urta and his daughters' sons Tian and Teur. However, without realizing it, the nomadic life lived by Zababa will be the beginning of the Alhold family's hatred of incompetent.

The nomadic life lived by Zababa and family makes both children unable to make friends. In other words, they are lonely. Despite making friends in a village, a few weeks later when the village would be attacked or all the men forced into the army to fight, Zababa would flee with his family.

Tian and Teur had to break up many times because of Zababa's selfishness. Urta never said anything about Zababa's selfishness. Sometimes, Teur asked the older brother, Tian, why they always move around. However, Tian was also unable to give an answer.

Once, Urta was seriously injured by being attacked by a wild animal. And, what a misfortune, it happened while they were on their way to the next village. Without being able to do anything, Zababa and her two sons are forced to let Urta die.

Urta's death was Tian's first trigger and Teur began to doubt his father. They don't care much about not having friends. In their minds, Tian and Teur began to wander. Had they settled in one village, mother would definitely not have been attacked by beasts. If not attacked by a wild animal, his mother would not have died. From then on, Tian and Teur began to keep their distance from their father, Zababa.

After a few years, the war ended. After the war ended, Zababa and the family returned to their first residence, an area in the middle of nowhere.

Tian and Teur were really happy when the war ended. They think they no longer need to move. On the first day of returning home, Tian and Teur visited the nearby village of Nagar. Nagar Village was the playground of Tian and Teur before Zababa invited them to live nomads. They both hoped for a smile and a welcome from their friends.

However, unfortunately, there was no smile or warmth that greeted them. What greeted Tian and Teur was only the cold gaze and treatment of the Nagar villagers. The old men simply avoided Tian and Teur, ignoring them. However, it was not done by children of the same age as Tian and Teur.

Children tend to be more expressive and honest. The children in the village insulted Tian and Teur for running away from the village just like that. Not stopping until the insults, even they pelted Tian and Teur with stones.

One of the men named Brak tried to stop the children who threw Tian and Teur with stones. Brak took Tian and Teur to his house and explained why the children hated Tian and Teur.

Because of the war, many adult men were forced into the army. Some died, some went home disabled. Only a minority can go home with full limbs. On the battlefield, news broke that there was actually a royal family still alive. Somehow, the name Zababa appeared.

Those who returned home with permanent disabilities blamed Zababa. Not just people with permanent disabilities. The family of the man who was dragged into the battlefield also blamed Zababa. They all believed that Zababa, as a member of the royal family, had an obligation to quell the wars. However, what Zababa did was just the opposite. He just ran away somewhere.

Brak escorted Tian and Teur back home. In fact, Tian and Teur did not fully believe Brak's story. They did not believe his cowardly and lazy father was a royal family. However, Tian and Teur could not forget the expressions shown by the children throwing stones.

Tian and Teur realized the expressions of the children who were throwing stones at them were not anger, but sadness. They understood because that expression was the one they had when they lost Urta. The children were saddened that Zababa, Tian and Teur's father, who should have been able to put down the conflict, fled, saved himself, and ended up in a calamity that befell them.

When Tian and Teur have arrived and that person will return to the village. Something unexpected happened.

After parting, suddenly a sound was heard. Hearing the cries of Brak who had been kind to them, Tian and Teur ran over, following the origin of the voice. When they arrived, they both hid. They were afraid because they saw a gunman. At the end of the voice, Tian and Teur found Brak facing off against several people.

Tian and Teur did not know the person facing Brak. However, from Brak's shout, they concluded the two men were Unug and Kulaba, King of Bana'an and Mariander.

Although not the main enemy, the forces of Unug and Kulaba several times clashed. In other words, to the commoners without knowledge, all they knew was that Kulaba was the enemy. Seeing the person they were serving, Unug, had a casual conversation with the enemy leader, Kulaba, destroying the person's feelings.

"Fuck king! We serve you wholeheartedly and this is your reward?"

Emotionally, Brak attacked the king. He used a small knife to hunt. However, what was attacked was not Kulaba, but Unug. In his eyes, a traitor was more deserving of being killed.

Brak was unable to reach Unug. He was killed by Unug and Kulaba's bodyguards.
