Smiling in the Wounds

On a blistering afternoon, Alifa walked across the campus with careful steps. Like the sun that adorns the sky, warmth and joy surround the atmosphere. But in Alfah's heart, there was something that was still buried, like a wound that had not completely healed.

Unexpectedly, in the silence of that afternoon, Alifa received a phone call from Khaleed. Like lightning striking on a clear day, the tremors stirred up mixed feelings in Alifa. Khaleed, the man who once broke his heart and left a scar that has not disappeared.

In every sentence that Khaleed spoke, Alifa felt a persistence that never faded. Like a tireless bird, Khaleed kept trying to maintain communication with Alifa. Alifa gave Khaleed permission to go with other women. However, like dew dripping on a shady tree, Alifa still struggled to recover from all the injuries.

Alifa cautiously picked up the phone, "Hello, Khaleed!"

"Alifa, how are you? I miss you" said Khaleed, without further ado.

Alifa spoke in a stern tone, "Good news, Khaleed. Is there something you want to say?"

In a hopeful tone, Khaleed said, "Alifa, I am aware of the mistakes I have made. I'm sorry I hurt your heart and left you. I want to fix everything, can we try again?"

"Khaleed, what do you expect by calling me? I told you before that I have let you down and chose to go home to my own life" Alifa said in a cold tone.

Khaleed never gave up, he tried to stir up Alifa's heart. "Alifa, I know I made a big mistake. However, my love for you never faded. I'm willing to do anything to repair our relationship. Please give me a second chance" he asked expectantly.

Alifa in a firm and confident voice said, "Khaleed, the wound you gave me has gone too deep. I have felt an infinite heartache. I no longer want to be in a relationship, let alone accept you as my future husband. It was my decision that would not change."

"Alifa, I understand your feelings. It's just, I hope you can see that I really changed and want to be the best for you" Khaleed said regretfully.

Alifa who was already in pain, with a steady voice refused. "Khaleed, thank you for your regret. I have also learned from this experience. However, for me, it is time to move on and recover without involving you in it. I hope you can also find your happiness elsewhere," Alifa said with a long breath. He closed his eyes for a moment, his eyeballs began to get wet. He tried to wipe it so that the water did not flow.

Khaleed, in a weak voice, kept trying to get Alifa to change her mind. "I understand, Alifa. Although I am very sad about your decision, I will respect it. May you find true happiness."

"Thank you, Khaleed. May we find peace in the future. Goodbye," Alifa said in a soft tone.

They both end their conversation with certainty and hope to start a new chapter in their lives, each living a different path with determination and hope for happiness in the future.

Although the wound was still felt, Alifa was like a struggling cactus growing in a barren desert. In the silence of his deepest heart, he welcomes and releases Khaleed into his new world. He tried to recover, although the road to take still felt winding.

Perhaps Alifa had not fully recovered, but she had not succumbed to the darkness that had once come. He kept trying to rebuild hope and happiness, like a flower blooming in the heat of the day. Although Khaleed has given the wound, Alifa still struggles to find the light that brings healing.

In the luminous day, Alfah stepped forward with renewed hope. He realized that the spirit and strength to recover could not come from others, but from oneself. Although the wound was still there, Alifa stood firm, ready to face the challenges of life with steadfastness and unwavering confidence.

However, suddenly from behind, Alifa was greeted by a pleasant surprise. Farah, Atiqah, and Hanin, his three friends, appear suddenly. As if lightning was striking in the middle of a clear day, their presence broke the silence of Alifa.

"Hayo, what are you daydreaming about?" simultaneously they asked with a carefree smile and laughter. Their voices sounded like the singing of excited little birds.

Alifa smiled and felt comforted by their presence. Like the wind caressing her cheeks, the cheerfulness of her friends swept through Alifa's heart and brought her back to a moment of blissful togetherness.

"You know, you're flying alone into my world of thought" Alifa replied with a big smile. His words sounded like the jest of the universe blending with the sparkling stars in the sky.

Unburdened and without sadness, Alifa felt surrounded by love and the warmth of friendship. Like fireworks that light up the night sky, the presence of her three friends gives her new spirit and reminds her that happiness lies in an irreplaceable bond of friendship.

In their audible laughter, the atmosphere was boisterous and full of joy. As the sky changed color, they continued the conversation freely, building unforgettable memories.

In that togetherness, Alifa felt like a bird flying back in the blue sky. With his friends, he feels the freedom and warmth that drives away all the hurt and disappointment that ever existed.

Not long after their cheer had reached its peak, the library guards came with resolute steps. He admonished them kindly but decisively, asking them to slow down their voices for disturbing other visitors in the library who were studying with concentration.

Alifa and her three friends, Farah, Atiqah, and Hanin, immediately lowered the volume of their voices with a small laugh reflecting their understanding of the situation. Like a fine blowing wind, their cheerfulness turned into calmness.

Sitting at an available table, they continued the conversation in a low voice. The topics of their conversation went from personal life to the lecture materials, campus assignments, and exam preparation that awaited them. Their voices sounded like fine whispers, adorning the library with concentrated energy.

Alifa picked up the necessary books and notes, feeling inspired by the presence of her friends. Like a fire that burns in the dark of the night, their spirit burns the spirit of Alifa to continue learning and achieving in the academic world.

In productive silence, they help each other. Like lighting points that guide in the dark, they exchange ideas, give advice, and explain difficult concepts. Their voices sounded like a calm stream, carrying wisdom and knowledge.

Alifa felt lucky to have friends like them. They are pillars of support, not only in a moment of cheerfulness, but also in its academic struggles. They are true friends who help Alifa grow and thrive, just like water gives life to green plants.

In their attachment to college materials, assignments, and academic dreams, Alifa felt called to fight harder. He is confident that with the support of his friends, he can overcome whatever challenges he faces on campus.

In the stillness of the library, which now blossoms with a spirit of learning, Alifa and her friends continue to blend their energies to achieve the bright future they dream of. Together, they find the strength and inspiration to move forward, achieve academic success, and realize their dreams one by one.
