Dusk And Suffering

Dusk And Suffering
27. The Deep Regret

Akmal and Aldi wait in Loe's special guest room. They both sat waiting in a huff. There was no conversation between the two, they were both immersed in their thoughts and fears.

"Sorry waiting too long. What made you come here? And.." Leo looked confusedly at Aldi.

"Yes, I brought him here. Get to the point, sir. I've come here to ask you to return Dusk. You're the one who took Dusk away forcibly, right?" Akmal stood up from his seat and approached Leo who was still sculpting. They now stand at close range and face to face.

Leo frowned, "I don't understand. What are you asking for Dusk to be returned? What's the deal with you? You've been too presumptuous to interfere in my affairs. And you who set-up me?" Leo began to intimidate.

"Sir Leo, the girl you brought is the nephew of Mr. Aldi, my confidant. At once my son. My Real Father will never allow and give your blessing to marry her." Akmal warned firmly.

There was no look of surprise or shock on Leo's face, "Wow. The shocking news. An Akmal Aerospace, has a stash? Oh no-no, not a mistress. But the suspect raped a girl, and then left. That's great." Leo clapped for Akmal as a form of humiliation. Akmal's jaw instantly tightened. "You know, you're like a self-informed man. You're harassing a woman, you're living her, once you meet the child she raised alone, you admit she's a child." Leo still spoke in a contemptuous tone.

Akmal clenched both his hands. He realized and knew what Leo said was true, he was indeed a man who did not know himself, came to admit, when he had left. But it would be more self-destructive if he knew his son's twilight and let him into the pit of hell.

"You have no right to judge someone's mistakes. Despite the past mistakes I made, Dusk is still my son. And I, as his guardian, will never let my son fall into your hands."

Leo smiled cynically, "After all who will marry your son? At first I was going to marry her legally and religiously. Unfortunately, he left the house and disappeared. So I decided to just borrow her womb without any interest in marrying her." Leo answered lightly as if he had nothing wrong.

The two men in front of Leo clearly felt indignant with the man's words. However, Aldi tried to suppress his emotions so as not to forget to the surface, he was afraid if he was rash to destroy everything.

A different reaction from Aldi in Akmal's. His lightning-quick hand sent a blow to Leo's face. It seemed that the blow was strong enough to see Leo almost fall to the floor.

"Return my son now or I'll report you to the police for taking my son without permission" Akmal threatened.

Leo wiped the corner of his lips that were spitting out fresh blood. "His mother had given me permission to do anything to her son. Then why are you the one who shuddered. Report that! I'm not scared. We'll see who goes to jail. Me or you, think about it before you do." Leo flicked his hand to Akmal's suit as if cleaning up the scattered dust.

Akmal was about to throw a punch, but Aldi's hand quickly grabbed his wrist. He shook his head slowly at the sign of not having to solve it with violence.

"Think of your fate and your child's before you act. You know, the wounds you give will be accounted for by your son later." Leo left after that.

"Coward, loser. You're just brave with women."

Akmal threw a punch into the air as soon as the door closed along with the sound of Leo's steps being lost. Akmal sat down limply, drowning his face with both palms. He was frustrated, not knowing how and what steps he would take.

"How is this, brother? It's nothing I can't do."

"What if we go home now, I'll try to persuade Manda to give back the money that Leo gave me. Maybe we can use that way to free Dusk. It looks very unlikely, but there is no harm in trying. Whatever we have to do to bring Dusk back."

"I'm coming home, I want to see Manda, please." Akmal said as if he knew a rejection would be answered by Aldi.

"Next time, Mal. Manda was depressed when you left her. Even today sometimes I crumpled."

"I promise I'll go if he asks me to go. I won't make him see me. At least let me know where you guys live. Give me a chance to just say sorry to her." Akmal pleaded with his dewy eyes.

Aldi saw the deep regret of the man's eyes that he had been looking for. Does every human being have a mistake? Both big and small, they deserve a second chance even though not all mistakes can be given a chance.

Change is the most important thing when we regret what we have done. In this day and age, many people who realize themselves wrong, they are willing to apologize, but unfortunately not a few of them do not make any changes. They still make the same mistake, go back to the hole that once made him fall and apologize again.

As if apologizing is an easy thing to do but, there is no reciprocity of the apology. The most important thing about an apology is change. Sorry is very important, but not to be repeated let alone mistakes made the same.

"You sure? Are you ready to see Manda's reaction? Like I told you before. He hates Dusk because of you. And now he's meeting you. The only human Manda doesn't want to meet."

"It's hard, even imagining I can't. But I have to meet him, brother. She was my first love and up.." Akmal did not continue his sentence because he could no longer process the word for this situation.

Akmal in his heart deeply regretted what had happened. Why he is not aware and insensitive to the surrounding conditions, why he only today knows everything. After Dusk is in danger, after Manda transforms into a heartless human being. Why is it only now that everything is revealed?

"All right, let's go home. We're starting to fix everything."

"I'm sorry, Brother. Forgive me for all the mistakes I made in the past. I'm such a loser, I'm too cowardly, I'm a fool I can't find Manda."

"Don't cry about what happened. Tears of regret are a waste. It's okay you're sorry, but show that regret by changing the present, you should be able to change the future of your daughter."
