Chapters. 49
"Areta, sorry. Please don't take care of what Mama says. I'm sure you must be horrified, right?" Henry felt bad about Agatha's bad words a few minutes ago. However, he must keep Areta's feelings in check.
"It's okay. What your mother said is not wrong." Areta realized, she should not be offended by Agatha's words. He knows himself well enough, is aware of his current position. Who only took advantage of his marriage to Henry.
Putting her bag on the dresser, Areta then headed for the wardrobe. Take a change of clothes from inside there, then rush to the bathroom.
While Henry took a seat on the edge of the bed. Take off the suit, remove the shirt, then replace it with a t-shirt that he had taken from the closet.
Before long Areta came out of the bathroom, already dressed in sleeping pajamas. Which makes Henry's attention turned to him.
Subjugating her face as she passed in front of Henry, Areta then took a pillow and a blanket for her to use as a bed for her to sleep on.
"Areta," called Henry as he stood up and approached Areta.
Areta lowered her head, hugging the pillow. While the blanket he had a degree on the floor.
"You're the only one sleeping in bed. Let me sleep on the floor" said Henry.
"Where can it be. You have this room. You're supposed to be sleeping in that bed, not me." Areta knows herself enough, especially after accidentally hearing Agatha's bad talk. Honestly, it offended him a little.
"But we're married."
"Because of deal. I hope you don't forget that."
Henry breathed deeply. "alright. Then, we both sleep on the floor."
Areta was startled, looking up quickly, looking at Henry who looked playless with her talk.
"Don't you get sick later" Areta refused.
"Yes, if so we just sleep here together. We'll use this roll as a barrier." He pointed at the roll on the bed.
Shaking quickly, Areta was about to lie on the floor. He put a pillow in his hand and said, "Sorry, I can't."
But Henry quickly held his wrist before he could lay down.
"Areta," called Henry softly with a glaring look.
Areta can only swallow when she sees Henry's unusual facial water. The look that usually looks sneaky now feels very different. Sometimes he felt confused himself judging Henry's personality. Which he himself felt as if Henry's personality was fickle.
But when accidentally heard the sentence Henry which is an expression of his sincere feelings a few minutes ago it makes his heart warm also touched. But not showing it in front of Henry. He prefers to be quiet, as if he knows nothing and doesn't care.
Areta was silent as she stared fixedly at Henry's eyeballs. That radiated sincerity from those twinkling eyes. And Areta could feel that from the look in her eyes alone.
"It's true I really want you . To the point that I did all the ways to get to you. But I don't expect you to understand my feelings. And I also don't expect you to reciprocate my feelings for you. With you knowing how I feel about you, that's enough for me" Henry continued, staring deeply into Areta's eyes.
For some reason, the longer he looked at Henry the more Areta saw the sincerity of the man through the look in his eyes. Which emitted an unusual twinkle, a reflection of his deep heart content. Even in Angga alone Areta almost never saw such an eye highlight.
"I... I plan to sell my salon. The money from the sale of the salon I will give you in exchange for your money that you have spent on Rosa's operating expenses. If it wasn't enough, I'd pay it off later. Let's just say I owe you one." Thinking about this all day, Areta began to consider Agatha's offer. If she chooses to leave Henry, Agatha will pay for Rosa's treatment. Come to think of it he benefited in that regard.
However, I don't know why his little heart seemed to refuse. Especially when he accidentally heard the sincere expression of Henry's feelings. It thrust guilt unintentionally into his heart, so to stay away was hard to do.
"What do you mean?"
Areta sighed for a moment, before saying. "Maybe it's true what your mother said. You shouldn't be defending a woman like me. Henry, you deserve to be happy too. And I'm not the right woman to make you happy."
Subjecting her face, Areta seemed unable to see Henry's suddenly gloomy face water her face.
"I've resigned. I will accept whatever happens if one day something bad happens to Rosa. I will do what I can and in my own way. You know very well, the purpose of me marrying you is only for money. And now I've put it all to God. Because I know, God gave me this ordeal because I was able to" he brushed his fingers.
"Areta, please make it clear what do you mean to talk like this?" From every word Henry actually can guess, the possibility of Areta wants to ask to separate from him. But he tried to deny his prejudice.
"Sorry, Henry. Maybe we should just end our marriage here. I am not a woman worthy of your love. You also deserve to be happy with a woman who is more worthy to accompany you. Sorry if I hated you." Emboldened to look at Henry in the face, Areta gave her smile. Perhaps this was the best so that he could live quietly together with Rosa.
Henry was speechless, fixated in place with his tense face. His eyeballs rolled wildly exploring every curve of Areta's face. The next second, those eyes seemed to be glazed over. Dropped the pity in Areta's heart that second as well.
It turns out Areta misjudged Henry all along. He thought Henry was a cruel man who took advantage of his circumstances. But in reality it was forced to do Henry just for the sake of being able to have him. Areta couldn't even believe it until now, that how big and deep Henry felt for her. So able to make Henry justify all means just for the sake of his love. Areta should be flattered being loved so much by a man like Henry.
"I'm sorry I had to make this decision." Areta was about to turn her body back. But quickly Henry grabbed it, clutching it tightly in his warm embrace.
"No. I don't want you to leave me. You know, you are half my soul. If you walk away from me, then I can die" Henry said with sobs that began to sound.
There was a strange feeling starting to wander the pulse, flowing the strange feeling through his bloodstream to the bottom of his heart. Makes Areta feel more guilty about leaving Henry. I don't know why. This feeling may be ...
"Henry, you're too much" he said.
Releasing his embrace, removing the clear spots that had already washed over his cheeks, Henry then looked at Areta deeply. While carrying her fingers cupped her tiny face Areta.
"I never go overboard, because this is what I am. Areta, you can hate me if that's what you are. Please hate me as much as you. But please, don't you ever leave me. Without you I am fragile.
"Areta, I've decided to bring Rosa to live with us. I will accept Rosa as my own daughter. If you leave, how can I learn to be a good father to him? Hm?"
