Chapters. 42
Areta's reflexes looked away as Henry killed distance, about to make out her lips. The involuntary movement was prompted by his dislike of Henry. He had no feelings for that man.
Henry sighed, trying to master the anger that began to seep in when receiving rejection from Areta. Not dismissing, there was a feeling of disappointment in the chest that began to ignite the flames of his anger with the continuous rejection of the woman he so desperately wanted. His jaw tightened, his molar clapping sounded. As a marker there is anger that tries to dim. To not explode, then screw things up.
His arm around Areta's waist was removed. Then he took one step back, making room for Areta for his comfort.
"Alright, Areta. What do you want," said Henry, standing upright tucking his hands into his pants pocket. His eyes were sharp against Areta. Brought by his disappointment that helped hurt his heart and feelings. He thought it would be easy to conquer Areta, because women liked the gentle treatment as well as the care and attention of the opposite sex. But the truth is, Areta is different.
Areta let out a long sigh, before finally turning her head, returning Henry's sharp gaze. He swallowed, gathering his courage.
"I just want to know what's your purpose in marrying me?" tanyakanya.
"To have you" Henry said honestly. Because there is no need to cover up. Areta is now his.
"Why?"
"Because I love you. I love you, Areta." Henry said with great emphasis in every word of his last sentence to convince Areta. That he married Areta was not just his obsession. But because his feelings for Areta are real.
Areta shook her head slowly.
"No. You don't love me. You're just obsessed with me. And that feeling wasn't love," he retorted courageously to look at Henry.
And Henry smiled at her.
"Who said? The feeling I feel for you has been for years. And this is not Areta's obsession, but a deep feeling. Because my love for you is so great Areta."
"Then you can certainly accept Rosa in your life. Because Rosa is a part of me. Loving someone means accepting all the flaws that that person has."
Henry sighed slowly. Not that I don't like the presence of Rosa among them. He just wanted to have more time with Areta. And Rosa's presence would probably be a nuisance. Wouldn't it be better if the little girl stayed with her father and grandmother alone?
After all, the little girl will likely not feel comfortable living with a stranger she just met. Moreover, the little girl had a history of heart disease. And the reality of the relationship between his parents will be a new problem for his heart health. It was still fortunate that he was willing to finance the treatment of the little girl, no matter how nominal. All he wanted in his life was Areta.
"Rosa is my daughter. He is a part of me. If you really love me, you should also be able to accept my shortcomings. Including accepting Rosa in your life. I'm not the girl you married. I am a married woman, whom you have forcibly seized by taking advantage of circumstances. And you should have told your family who I really am" Areta added.
Makes Henry tighten his jaw furiously. But I don't want to just get angry. He did not want to hurt the woman he loved. Because frankly, he had no desire to bring Rosa to live with him. Not that he does not like children, he just does not want to be bothered by children. Especially when he wants to have quality time with Areta.
...
While elsewhere.
"Darling, what gift do you think I'd love to Henry as a wedding present. Did I just find him a good WO for the reception?" Hera asked while putting a cup of warm tea on the table, in front of Nino who was checking a health report belonging to a patient at her home.
Today Nino has an operation schedule. For that, before doing the operation first he studied the history of the disease of the patient.
"What do you think is good" said Nino without taking her eyes off the file in her hands.
"Honey moon for a month? I don't think his wife will."
"Well, why?"
"That train has a child with heart disease. His condition must always be watched out for. I don't think Areta's gonna want to get away from her son."
"What did you say? Areta has a child?" Hera was surprised. His facial expression tensed up looking at Nino.
Unknowingly Nino said so to Hera who did not know about Areta. Nino reflexively says that, because he thinks Hera and Agatha already know Areta well.
"Why are you surprised like that? I thought you guys knew Areta." Nino was even puzzled to see Hera's expression that was shocked beyond measure.
Hera then took a seat in front of Nino. Staring sharply at the teary-eyed man with a frown.
"So you've known Areta all this time? Henry didn't tell me anything about Areta. He just said Areta was an orphan. From what I see, Areta is a good woman. She's beautiful, friendly, polite. But Henry never told me that Areta had a child."
Nino was wrong. Apparently he had mistaken. If Hera does not know Areta, Agatha does not know Areta. Henry was the only son of the Adiswara family's successor. Of course Agatha wanted the best soul mate for her family. Nino scratched his nape. Why did he forget that?
"Darling, answer my question. How long have you known Areta?" ask Hera again demanding an answer. Areta's reality contradicts her family's criteria. Agatha also never wanted Henry to marry a woman who already had children. Moreover, Agatha often boasts Henry in front of her social friends. And the truth about Areta is a shame for her family.
Nino gulped, scratched her nape once more, then fixed her glasses.
"The woman was recently divorced from her husband. She has one daughter who has heart disease. That kid is one of my patients. And Henry paid for the child's treatment." Nino.
"What did you say?" And at the same time Agatha suddenly stood across the street with a face full of questions.
Nino and Hera turned to the source of the sound.
...
Leaning back and closing his eyes, Henry was thinking about and weighing Areta's request to bring Rosa to live with him at Adiswara's residence.
It's not that he doesn't want to, it's just that he hasn't told Areta the truth to his family. He realized that one day he would have to open Areta's identity in front of his family without anyone covering up. It's just that until this moment he still can't win Areta's heart. He was worried, if Agatha asked him to separate from Areta later when Agatha found out about Areta, and Areta would not mind doing so.
That is the tang he is avoiding. He was just waiting for the right time. She wanted when her family found out the truth about Areta, at that time Areta had opened her heart to accept her as her husband.
Where could he be willing Areta to leave her life just like that. The trouble he got Areta, even he had to turn himself into a bangsatt just to get the woman. Of course he doesn't want to lose it.
He was having a delusion about his relationship with Areta, when suddenly the sound of the door creaking opened. The voice of a woman calling out to him.
"Why didn't you tell Mama from the beginning Henry." Agatha had been standing in the doorway of Henry's room with an indescribable look on her face.
