Everyone was quiet for a moment. Max is the one who wants to go first. Followed by Mike. Both promised to give news at midnight to Ruby.
Geck!
Geck!
Geck!
The knocking of the door sounded. He managed to silence the mouths of everyone in the room. Ruby walked to the door and opened it. It looks like Ryan is able to make Ruby and others surprised. What if Ryan had listened to the topic?
A tense expression was attached to Ruby's face. The same goes for Mike, Gaby and Max. Maybe their fear is higher than Ruby's.
"Ry-ryan?" Ruby even did a stammering greeting. His eyes are a little round. It was hard for him now to just smile.
"What are you guys doing? It seems like we're discussing something serious." Ryan looked at Mike, Gaby and Max in turn. He must have been suspicious.
"Bu-not anything boss, Ruby just wants to be accompanied to eat pizza." Mike answered nervously.
"Really, look! We finished the pizza." Gaby picked up an empty box of pizza. Though the pizza box is the food he ate with Ruby yesterday. A stroke of luck, Ruby forgot to throw the box into the trash.
"Sorry, Ryan. I wanted to take you along, but I felt like you were preoccupied with a lot of things" Ruby said. Attempt to corroborate the false excuses thrown by Mike and Gaby.
"Okay, I get it. But you're done, aren't you?" ryan's Response. He once again looked at his three subordinates who happened to be in Ruby's room. Give them a signal to leave immediately.
"Yes, sure. We were just about to leave. Come on!" Max who understood very well with the intention of his leader, hurried to make a sound. Then take Mike and Gaby to move on. In an instant the three went from Ruby and Ryan's sight.
Now Ruby moved her eyeballs to Ryan. Full of questions and a sense of uniting. Ryan immediately noticed the look. But he even mellowed into Ruby's room.
"What do you want?" timpal Ruby with frown. His hands were still powerless to close the door. Ruby wants Ryan out of her room!
"Can't a husband come to his wife's room?" reply Ryan indifferently. He put his coat on the couch. Then throw the body into Ruby's mattress.
Ruby grunted violently. The door was finally closed by him. He was confused to throw Ryan out of his room. If the man continues to be with her, Ruby will not be able to carry out her plans tonight. His head just moves to the right and left. It was the anxiety Ruby was feeling. His attention accidentally went to the shirt Ryan was wearing. There's blood on there.
"Ryan, are you hurt? There's blood on your shirt." Ruby told as she approached.
Ryan immediately changed his position to sit down. He confirmed the blood spots Ruby mentioned. Sure enough, his wife's words were not a lie. Ryan completely forgot to clean his clothes before visiting Ruby's room.
"Forget, Babe. It's not a big thing!" said Ryan. Not giving a reason.
"You don't want to tell me?!" Ruby looked at the husband seriously. "Why am I the only person here who doesn't know anything? If I know something by myself, especially if it is related to you, then I will not forgive you!" emphatically. His jaw slightly tightened due to the sudden peaking of black.
"Ruby... Why are you so sensitive today?" Ryan stood up and galloped toward Ruby. Now the two exchanged looks. Ruby exuded a twinkle full of anger, while Ryan put on his shady gaze for Ruby.
"I'm sorry, Ruby. I heard all your talk with Mike, Gaby and Max earlier." Ryan took a seat, he picked a spot next to Ruby. His speech certainly caused Ruby's eyelids to widen. He was shocked, it turned out to be his guess. Ryan eavesdropped on all his talk.
"Then? Are you going to scold me?!" Ruby shrugged both of her shoulders once.
Ryan chuckles. He leaned his back against the sofa and said, "I will tell you everything. So, you don't have to bother talking to Ethan." Now Ryan turned his expression into seriousness.
"really?" Ruby's gaze changed. There was no longer a twinkle of anger there. Now there was only curiosity that disturbed his mind.
Ryan nodded slowly. "But, this is a sad and rather tragic story. That's why I tried to hide it from you until now" he continued. Again Ryan looked at his wife. Honestly, he hesitated to tell Ruby everything. Ryan was afraid, would no longer see the joy emanated from the girl's face.
On the other hand, Ryan doesn't want Ruby to know everything from someone else's mouth. He did not want his wife to be angry with him, just because of the matter of the collection of truth sentences.
"Tell me quickly, Ryan. Whatever it is, I'll take it. In this world, the truth is always painful" Ruby said expectantly.
Ryan smiled wryly. He starts telling Ruby what he knows. The man begins his story by introducing his female colleagues in the past. Her name is Lucy Agatha. Nineteen years older than Ryan. In addition to being a partner, Lucy is also a senior to Ryan. It was Lucy who introduced the mafia world to Ryan. Both how the organization works, as well as the people concerned.
"What does Lucy have to do with me?" Ruby was astonished as she put one of her hands to her chest.
"She's.your mother" replied Ryan. Cause Ruby's eyes to naturally glaze over. Her tears are still broken.
"Really? Then, where is he now?" Ruby asked. She's hesitating. Evident from the luminescent in his eyes that slightly vibrated.
Ryan lowered his head. He had no power to witness the grief that Ruby began to show. Now she's completely reluctant to tell Ruby. Ryan was sure, when Ruby heard the answer, the girl would definitely cry.
"Tell me!" Ruby urges. He even shook Ryan's body hysterically.
"He's dead" Ryan said. He slowly looked up and watched Ruby's face. Sure enough, a few drops of clear liquid had already escaped the girl. But Ruby's hands quickly removed the clear liquid from her cheeks.
"I shouldn't cry for someone who doesn't care about me." said Ruby, rubbing her cheek that was already clean from tears.
"He cares about you. Lucy was forced to leave you for an orphanage, because she didn't want you to be involved in a dark world" Ryan explained.
Ruby was silent for a moment. Then he said, "Wait a minute. Did Lucy tell you she sent someone to look after me?" Ruby concludes that Henry's figure is the one Lucy sent to look after him.
"What did you say?" Ryan nodded. He doesn't know anything about the name of the person Ruby mentioned. "No, Ruby. Lucy never sent someone for you. He just routinely provides assistance to the orphanage, so that all your needs continue to suffice."
"Who is Henry?" Ruby wondered. The same is true for Ryan. He was curious too.
"Is he someone important to you? You never told me about it." Ryan slightly leaned his head towards Ruby. He deliberately tilted his body so that he could talk to his wife.
"Henry brought me into the world of evil. He taught me how to steal and cheat. However, at the age of fifteen, he disappeared as if swallowed by the earth. That's the main reason I never told you about it. I hate him, because he just left me." Ruby sat cross-legged on the sofa. He turned his body to face Ryan. The conversation between the two is deepening.
