Chapter 25 - Play & Talk

Ruby and Ethan sat facing each other. Both are in a luxury bar, located on the top floor of the cruise ship. They choose to play cards, because Ruby insists. The girl can only play the game.

"Ah right, since we first met, you haven't mentioned your name." Ethan looked straight at Ruby. Start the conversation first. She and Ruby wait for their beer orders.

"My name is Helen" replied Ruby. He deliberately did not mention his real name just in case.

"Do you really have a husband?" ask Ethan. Continuing chat. While Ruby looks to split poker cards to be played immediately. The waiter was seen delivering several bottles of beer.

"Yes, why? You want to marry me?!" reply Ruby. He's actually lazy to answer Ethan's questions.

"Haha! Marry you?" Ethan shook his head while laughing. But it didn't last long. He immediately responded to Ruby's words. "Helen, I don't believe in such a thing as marriage. What happened to my parents inspired me" she explained.

"What happened to your parents?" Ruby must be curious.

"They divorced and abandoned me. That sucks, doesn't it?" ethan pours beer into a glass. Then drink it until it's finished. It seems like past memories made her feel a little emotional.

"Right, that kind of sucks." Ruby looked seriously at Ethan. He was happy to see the man already drinking the first glass of alcoholic liquid. Next, Ruby and Ethan play card poker. The two keep talking to each other.

"What about you Helen. Are your parents divorced too? You know, divorce is like a trend these days. And I hate it so much, if there's a parent who keeps getting divorced despite having kids." Ethan told me a slanted smile. I don't know what's on his mind.

"I don't know. I haven't seen my parents since I was a kid." Ruby's feeling instantly shrank. He is actually lazy to talk about parents with others. Because he had never felt their love since childhood.

"Ah...really?" Ethan looked at Ruby. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to..." Now Ethan pours the beer into a glass, then gives it to Ruby. "Drink, and let's forget the bad treatment our parents once did!" continued. He asked Ruby to toast.

Ruby smiled wryly. He toasts Ethan. But he did not drink beer in a glass. Ruby accidentally threw it into the glass that was on the back table. The girl did it when Ethan drank the beer blindfolded. Ruby used her chances well.

"Helen, join me. I'm making some kind of group for abandoned people like you." Ethan paused for a moment. He leaned his head towards Ruby. Let him know in a whispering voice. "We named the group as The Drugs" he said slowly.

Ruby's eyes were slightly rounded. Because he just found out that the people who had been locked up Megan and Sarah, were the conspirators of The Drugs. And Ruby also remembered that Megan had to approach the chairman of The Drugs. But she wondered why Megan didn't seem to be approaching Ethan at all. At the party, Ethan was alone in the room. A soft target for people who do gimmicks.

'Why did Megan fail with her plan? Does he not know that Ethan is the head of The Drugs?' ruby wondered. He stared at the poker cards in his hand.

"Why are you daydreaming? Interested in joining The Drugs?" ethan's reprimand immediately awakened Ruby's behavior. The girl refocused on the game and the conversation.

"The Drugs are different from the others. There is no leader in our camp. If there is a problem that afflicts one member, it will be a problem for all as well. Our sense of togetherness is high. That's why we don't want to be called a mafia organization." Ethan did a lengthy explanation. "So, are you interested? I honestly need a girl like you to be in a group. It must be fun," he added.

"Let's know, I can't leave my husband to join an organization like that." Ruby gave a reason.

"Ah right. You have a husband. Is that fun?" Ethan demands an answer. He and Ruby are still playing cards.

"What do you mean?" Ruby turned around, not understanding Ethan's question.

"I mean, marriage. Is that fun?" Ethan fixed the question. Change to be more specific.

"Why are you silent? That bad?" Ethan deliberately voices to hear the answer as soon as possible from Ruby.

"Of course not. I live happily with my husband. Very, very happy!" Ruby immediately confirmed. He purposely spoke with a reassuring facial expression. Unknowingly Ruby downed a mouthful of alcoholic beverages. He stopped immediately when he realized he was drinking beer.

Ethan only smiled faintly at Ruby's statement. He said, "It's good that you've found happiness in your life, Helen. Your husband is so lucky to have a wife like you."

"Yes, I will complain to him, if you have abused me twice!" Ruby concluded. This time he pours out all his frustration.

"really? Oh my god. Is your husband some kind of cop or mafia..." Ethan tried to guess.

"Of course not! He's just a lawyer" Ruby quickly replied. He certainly doesn't want to, Ethan knows about Ryan.

"You don't want to? Yes, I have, then. Our game and our conversation, we better end up here, okay?" ethan gets up from his seat.

Ruby was shocked. Because he did not expect, Ethan chose to end the conversation to return to his room.

"Alright! Let's keep it in your room." Ruby had no choice but to agree. It's afternoon anyway. If you keep buying time, Ruby will not have time to save Megan and Sarah.

Ethan smiles at Ruby's approval. The two of them actually went to Ethan's private room. His room.

Arriving in the room, Ruby and Ethan continue the game. This time they have agreed to accept punishment if they lose.

Looks like goddess fortuna is on Ruby's side. Because the girl again gets good poker cards. So he manages to get Ethan to drink a bottle of beer.
