Chapter 41 - Puzzle Pieces

The door slowly opened. Ruby immediately stepped into a room. Ethan's figure, sitting limp on the floor, greeted his vision. Ruby's arrival makes Ethan immediately raise his head. His mouth develops a smile.

"Look at you. It looks very sad" Ruby said, crouching before Ethan. He notices Ethan's face is still battered and has not been cleaned.

"You know... What attracted me to you in the first place?..." Ethan spoke in a raucous voice. Looking straight at the girl in front of him. While Ruby was only silent when she heard it. He raised a questionable look. I hope Ethan continues the conversation.

"You look like someone... Is my guess right? But why are you staying with Ryan?" ask Ethan. A little tilting of the head. He saw the look of confusion on Ruby's face.

"You mean?" Ruby was curious.

Ethan's pupils are enlarged. She was shocked by the fact that Ruby did not know what she was talking about. Ethan realized, if he talked too far, then maybe Ryan would hate him more. He intended to save his guess first. All for his own safety.

"Oh, jeez. I shouldn't have said it. I'm sorry, it's nothing. Maybe it's just my feelings." Ethan quickly drew his words. He tried to change the subject. "What bread is that for me? Quickly give it to me. I'm so hungry!" smith again.

"No! I won't give it to you until you continue your conversation about me just now. You were so serious earlier, why did you suddenly withdraw your words?!" reply Ruby. He keeps the bread and a bottle of water out of Ethan's reach.

"I told you it was nothing. Why don't you just ask your husband?" ethan leaned against the wall. Both of his legs were laid back on the floor.

"You mean Ryan?" ruby's forehead frowned.

"Yes, but you better not. I suggest you find your own way," retorted Ethan.

"What am I trying so hard for, it seems like you are the right person to tell me!" Ruby urged Ethan to answer.

"I just guessed, okay?! I don't know anything!" Ethan is exhausted by Ruby's insistence. "Hurry up and give me the bread!" continued again.

"No!" ruby insisted. He now stood up, then hid the bread and water behind his back.

Ethan is upset. He thought for a moment. His mouth slowly opened to say something. However, the man did not have time to talk, Ryan suddenly came.

"Ruby, what are you doing here?" tympan Ryan. His forehead carved lines of astonished wrinkles. He looks at Ruby at a glance, then turns to Ethan.

"When I'm gonna do my job, Ryan. Do you intend to treat me like this forever?" hatch Ethan. Replying to Ryan's gaze without any twinkle in it.

"Tasks? Is he going to join Shadow Holo?" ask Ruby. Accidentally getting into the conversation.

"He's just a slave!" ryan answered while robbing Ruby of the bread and drink. Then throw it on the floor. Right in front of Ethan.

"You can't talk to him." Ryan pulled Ruby's hand with force. Then take the girl out of the room.

When he was outside, Ryan shut the door. He certainly did not forget to lock it. Ryan stopped clutching Ruby's hand. The girl was behind Ryan. She turned her eyes to her husband who happened to turn his back.

"Why can't I talk to him? I just want to help Max get some food. You haven't even treated Ethan well." Ruby chimed in on Ryan.

Ruby's two hands clenched fists. He immediately said, "Right! I don't know and I don't understand anything! Am I that stupid in your eyes?!"

Ryan mute. Even so, he tried as much as he could to restrain himself. His feet automatically took one step back to get away from Ruby. Her eyeballs moved to sever the ties from Ruby's gaze.

"Enough, I don't want to argue with you." Ryan spoke without looking at Ruby.

"Me too!" reply Ruby indifferently. He left Ryan. Passing his legs fast, because his sense of shame still has not faded. Ryan could only breathe a long sigh. Staring at Ruby's back who walked away. Ryan went back into Ethan's room. I don't know what he's doing there.

Ruby took the phone out of her pocket. He contacts Gaby, Mike and Max, alternately. Ruby told them to gather in her room.

Everyone was gathered in Ruby's room. Both Mike, Gaby and Max, all three are equally confused, why Ruby suddenly gathered them.

"What's up, Ruby?" ask Max. She observed Ruby who had just sat on the chair.

"I want to find someone. His name is Henry Bryson. She was the only person close to me in the orphanage" Ruby said.

"Why do you suddenly want to look for him? Is he bothering you?" Gaby asked as she widened her eyelids.

"No. Henry was the one who brought me into the world of crime. Actually he taught me to steal and cheat. But when I was fifteen, Henry disappeared and never saw me again." Ruby bluntly. His face looks bent down.

"That's weird... But how do we look for it if there's no clue. Maybe his name is not Henry. A criminal very often fakes his name!" Mike expressed his opinion.

"Guys, the weird one isn't really about Henry." Gaby looked at Mike and Max in turn. Slowly he directed his eyeballs at Ruby. "What's strange is why Ruby suddenly wanted to find Henry," he said. Now all three pairs of eyes are automatically centered toward Ruby. Their eyes seemed to demand an answer.

Ruby smiled wryly. He then tells Mike, Gaby and Max the reason. Ruby wanted to do a search, because of the words Ethan had said to her. When she heard that her face was similar to someone, Ruby felt hope. He thought, maybe there's still family out there. He was also curious about Ryan's involvement. Ruby had a feeling that Ryan had kept a lot of things from her.

"Why don't we ask Ethan. Maybe he knows more about you." Mike gave a suggestion.

"I had forced him to tell me, but he suddenly covered it up from me. Worse, Ryan caught me talking to him. Now Ryan's been preventing me from talking to Ethan" Ruby said with a rude snort.

"I'll arrange your meeting so I can talk to Ethan. We better do it, before we actually figure out Henry," Max responded, convinced.

"Did Ryan never tell you anything about me?" Ruby stared at the search of three people who were sitting separately in front of her.

"He rarely talked about his wife to subordinates. Especially about you, the person who is fairly new here," replied Max. He did not dare to look towards Ruby. Same thing with Mike and Gaby. Both brothers chose silence. Gaby seemed to rub his nape for no reason. There's certainly a secret they know about Ruby. Not about Ruby's identity, but the lies that Ryan did. Everyone at the base knows that Ryan is paying some of his subordinates to carry out a false pursuit of Ruby.

"But in a few days Ryan will be on a winter mission. We'd better do this plan as soon as we can" Mike said.

"How was it tonight?" max Suggestion.

"Good idea. The sooner the better!" sahut Ruby with a thin smile.
