Chapter 40 - Sweet Memory [When Ryan & Ruby Fell In Love]

Now it's Ruby's turn to tell Gaby. He said that he and Ryan also first met at the casino.

It was Ruby's attention to a middle-aged man with silvery hair. He rang as he grabbed a glass of cocktail from the waiter tray that happened to pass by. Then step up to approach his target. Ruby accidentally crashed herself into the middle-aged man. It was then that his hand moved quickly to grab the middle-aged man's wallet.

"Hey!" protest the middle-aged man. He was certainly angry because he was disturbed by Ruby's impact.

"I'm sorry, sir." Ruby spoke softly. Showing an innocent expression on his bed. He'll be gone soon. But the girl had not yet moved away, the middle-aged man suddenly called out.

"He stole my wallet!" the middle-aged man screamed loudly. Her index finger was pointed right at Ruby. All eyes were on the girl.

Ruby was surprised. His hand automatically dropped the wallet he had stolen onto the floor. Then kick it origin to the back. Ruby had no idea where the wallet was going, the most important thing for her was, she managed to eliminate the evidence.

"Check him. I'm sure my wallet's on him!" said the middle-aged man. He stood before Ruby. Laying out a sharp plot filled with anger.

Two security officers approached Ruby. One of them, who happens to be a woman, is in charge of examining Ruby's body.

"What the fuck! I told you, I didn't do it!" ruby firmly returned the sharp gaze of the middle-aged man.

"Don't lie! After hitting me, my wallet instantly disappeared from its place!" said the silvery-haired middle-aged man.

"Is this your wallet?" a man suddenly appeared and entered the conversation. The figure of the man is the person who had managed to beat Ruby playing poker cards. Who else if not Ryan.

Ruby was so shocked. He was afraid that Ryan would tell the truth to the middle-aged man. Ruby thinks Ryan saw the pickpocketing.

"I found it on the floor. Looks like you're the one who's careless... Sir," said Ryan, handing the wallet to the middle-aged man. Ruby who heard it immediately snorted in relief.

The middle-aged man immediately wavered. He felt so embarrassed not being a bitch. His feet were quickly moved to get away from the crowd.

Ruby laughed a little to celebrate the victory. Slowly he turned to Ryan. He realized that Ryan was busy looking at him.

"Thank you for that," said Ruby stammered, as she felt a bit awkward.

"Thank you it's not enough. Nothing is free in this world" Ryan replied as he tidied up his clothes, as if something was dirty there. "You must accompany me for a drink, come with me!" continued. Walk the lead first.

Ruby refused to follow. She is not a girl who just trusts people. Unbeknownst to Ryan, Ruby escapes among the many passers-by.

Ruby is entering the elevator. He leaned his back against the wall. But one leg of someone was seen stopping the movement of the elevator door that was almost closed. Ryan was back in front of him.

"You don't know thank you at all" Ryan said. His head shook a few times. Then position yourself next to Ruby.

Ruby closed her eyes tightly, then threw away her face. He doesn't know how to deal with a guy like Ryan. In the end, he had no choice but to agree to accompany Ryan for a drink. They both went to the nearest bar.

"Okay, I've told you enough. Remembering those happy memories makes me sick!" Ruby decided to end the story. Causing Gaby's facial expression to automatically protest.

"You haven't told me about your marriage to Ryan. By the way, where did you get married, which is definitely not at the headquarters, right?" Gaby demands an answer.

"Me and Ryan got married at the bar where we first got to know each other. I remember that bar called The Nighton. Our invited guests are just customers who happen to come. But, the show was very fun and meaningful to me" explained Ruby.

Gaby crossed her chest. He thought for a moment and said, "You're right, Ryan's attitude is indeed very different when you're with him. I'm sure one hundred percent, she's really in love with you. Maybe that's why he didn't introduce Megan and Sarah first. Ryan doesn't want you to get away from him."

"Bulsh*it! If he loves me, then he should make me the only one! When Ryan introduced me to Sarah, she seemed completely innocent. How can I believe the love she expressed to me?!" Ruby pours out her frustration at length. His angry feelings towards Ryan reappeared. He shuffled to the end of the bed, then stood up.

Ruby shuts up for a few seconds. His mind is nostalgic. Back in the days when he and Ryan felt that the world belonged to both.

"I'm going out first. You just take a break," Ruby said as she went out of the room. He tried to forget a memory that felt very disturbing. Even though Ryan treats himself differently than Megan and Sarah, Ruby still feels uncomfortable about her current situation. He wanted to run but could not. If Ruby had a promising family and place to live out there, she probably wouldn't have depended on Ryan.

While walking casually down the corridor, Ruby accidentally crosses paths with Max. The man was seen carrying a packet of bread and a bottle of mineral water.

"Is that your food every day?" reprimand Ruby.

Max quickly shook his head and replied, "No! This is for our new prisoner."

"You mean the guy whose face was battered yesterday?" ask Ruby to make sure. He's talking about Ethan. This time Max responded with a nod.

"Give me his food and drink. Let me give it to you." Ruby took everything in Max's hands.

"But-"

"If you refuse, then I will never forgive you forever!" cut Ruby. Then immediately put his feet down. But he has to go back to Max again, because he does not know where Ethan is being held captive. Max chuckles amusedly at Ruby's sight, then points the way to the correct room.
