At home, my mother told me to buy flour at a stall not far from home. As I wait for my order. Someone I know is coming. He is Dicky. I just smiled at him.
"Buy what?" he asked.
"Flour, mother told me." I replied.
"You?." asked.
"This" he said, taking some chocolate.
"You want to" he said, prodding the chocolate to me.
"Sir, thank you." I said with a smile.
Mother's flour order finally came. I'll be home soon. Dicky was on his bike trying to catch up with me. When his bike was on par with me, his path slowed down.
"You coming?" he asked. I looked and saw him for a moment.
"Son, it's deket." I said.
He was silent, I could see the look on his disappointed face.
"You go first." I said.
"I want to accompany you, you don't know there are a lot of bad boys here, you will be bullied by them again" he said.
"Oh yes." I said. He just nodded his head.
"How long have you been moving here?" he asked again.
"One week, five days" I said.
"Oh."
"How is it here, comfortable?" he asked.
"Hmm, pretty, not too bad, here I also have friends, so it's not boring" I said.
"Oh yeah, where did you go on vacation?." I asked.
"Ke bandung, look at my sister, she went to college there" he said.
"You have a sister, well, I don't have a sister, I don't have one."
"What's good, my brother nagged on, fortunately he went to college in Bandung, if here he must be ngomel, you can also definitely hear his voice from your house" he said.
"Haha."
Along the way, we were both chatting and joking. There was no awkwardness between us. On the road, my eyes accidentally caught the figure of a beautiful girl, it seemed like she was the same age as me.
"That's Nabila." said Dicky suddenly. I looked up and looked at him.
"You know?."
"Yes, he's in class with me."
"She's beautiful, you like it?."
"No."
"Why?."
"There's a lot of people in the class who like him."
"It's natural, she's beautiful."
"You're beautiful too."
I don't believe what's being said. He managed to make me unable to say anything. I silently looked at him while continuing to walk parallel to him. I don't feel like I'm in front of the house.
"Udah up." he said
"Would you come by?" I said.
"Other times" he said.
"Yes, I came in." I said. He nodded and smiled.
I walked into the house. And he went home too.
***
At home, I do my schoolwork accompanied by a mama-made steamed brownie snack. I remember Dicky saying I was beautiful. And it makes me smile to myself.
Ahh, why am I thinking that.
Without me noticing, my mother was watching me.
"Why are you smiling." asked the mother.
"Hehe, no pa-pa ma'am" I replied.
"Yes, if you don't want to tell the story of the mother" said the mother as she put a brownie cake pan into the box.
"Hehe."
"Mom's gone for a minute, son." said Mom.
"Where?." I asked.
"To the house of our neighbor who just returned home from vacation yesterday, I want to silahturahmi aja" said Mother.
"You come along" I said when I found out what the mother meant was Dicky's house.
"Tumben, usually do not want if you take home about the family" said the mother wonder.
"Hehe, ma'am, Rissa wants to come."
"Yes, come on."
Eagerly. Mom and I went to Dicky's house. We didn't have to take any vehicles, just a few steps we got there. His house is right in front of my house. When he was at the door of his house. I was nervous, I don't know why. I think I just want to go home. I myself wanted to come along.
"Assalamualaikum" said Mother, knocking on the door.
Soon someone opened the door and answered his greetings. I'm sure it must be Dicky's mother.
"Ehh, there's a new neighbor" Dicky's mother said.
"Yes ma'am, I'm Atiya" said my mother.
"I'm Yanti, uh it's her son huh." said Dicky's mother.
"Yes mom, this is my son." said Mom.
"Whose name is dear?." Dicky's mother asked me.
"Beautiful" said Dicky's mother, looking up at my mother. Mom smiled.
"Say what Rissa" said Mother.
"Thank you aunt." I said slowly.
"Same-sama dear." said yanti's mother.
"Oh yeah, let's go in, let's talk in front, come on, please sit down." said Dicky's mother let us sit down.
"Bik, ready syrup water there are guests." cried Dicky's mother.
"Don't bother ma'am." said my mother.
"Not really happy" said Dicky's mother.
"It's welcome" said the mother gave the box containing the brownies.
"What is this?." asked Dicky's mother.
"Brownis steamed ma'am." answered my mother.
"Hmm, the cake is delicious." said Dicky's mother.
"Sorry mom, we just got here."
"So pa-pa, we also just returned from vacation, we also plan to stop by this afternoon, ehh no idea tiya's mother who stopped by first."
"Hehe."
"Mom, I keep my chocolate where." cried one child. That kid is none other than Dicky.
"Here used to be baby, there's aunt tiya, about a new lady who lives in front of our house, here" Dicky's mother said. Dicky walked closer.
"This is my son Dicky" Dicky's mother said. Dicky lowered his head saluting my mother.
"Beauty is your son." said my mother.
"Who was his mother" Dicky's mother said.
"It's Rissa, auntie tiya's son." Dicky's mother introduced herself to Dicky.
"We already know Mom, we're in school" Dicky said.
"Oh, you're one school, good at that, you can take care of Rissa at school, you can take care of her." said Dicky's mother, winking at my mother, my mother laughed.
"Yanti's mother is just there" said my mother.
While Dicky and I were just quietly watching our parents chatting and laughing was unclear. Dicky looked at me. He looked at me while giving the code if he wanted to leave. I honestly want to go too. My mother, when she's been chatting, she forgot about me. That's why I don't want to go see someone.
A middle-aged mother came to bring him a drink. He is a Titin. ART at Dicky's. She has been working at Dicky's house since Dicky was born and Dicky's older sister was 7.
"Let's go have a drink" Dicky's mother said.
"This one, it's cut and it keeps bringing it here" Dicky's mother gave me the brownie cake my mother brought.
"Yes ma'am." said Bik Titin.
"Mom, I'm going to play." said Dicky.
"Yes, kid, take Rissa to play too, but don't play out of the house, it's hot" said his mother.
"Yes ma'am."
"Come on Rissa" he said. I looked over at my mother to make sure I was allowed to. Mother nodded. Dicky and I went out of there. He took me to the kitchen. There's a Titin bik who's cutting brownies.
"Bik tin, you know where I keep my chocolate." asked Dicky.
"Brown, oh bentar ya den bibik takein." said bik Titin.
While waiting make Titin take chocolate. Dicky smiled at me. He offered me a drink. But I shook my head. That's enough to say I'm not thirsty. Soon Titin returned with two silverqueen chocolates.
"It's den." said Bik Titin.
"Thank you" said Dicky.
"For you." said Dicky to give one to me. I silently looked at him.
"Take it" he said again. I can't resist it, it's my favorite chocolate. I took it too.
"Thank you." I said. She smiles.
"We go to the backyard" he said. I'm nodding.
***
In the back yard of Dicky's house there's a swing. I sat there with Dicky sitting in front of me.
"I ate ya." I said while showing him the chocolate he gave earlier.
"Yes eat, it's not yours, why ask me" he said.
"Hehe."
"I'm glad you came to my house" he said.
"I'm also happy to come here, because your mother is good, if your mother is like her mother Dodit I'll be late to come home" I said while eating chocolate.
"Why?" he asked.
"Don't know, his mother dodit likes to be angry" I said.
"Haha."
"It can't be like that, but the hell Dodit's mother is like that, me, Melyn just as Anis was scolded by her mother" he said.
"I can." I asked.
"Yes, because we played with Dodit until magrib, his mother turned out to be the three of us, but it was Doditnya who did not want to go home" he said.
"Haha."
"Keep Doditnya got angry not." I asked.
"Yes, he's got a jewel" she replied.
"Pity, but it's good that he was picked, so that he's not naughty anymore" I said
"Haha."
That was our unclear conversation. It is not polite to talk about people. But honestly I am amused by the story. Talking to her about anything feels good. Not for me to quickly get along with a new friend let alone that is a guy friend. But with him being different, I always wanted to see him again and again.
