You Who I Miss

You Who I Miss
My birthday

Monday, 14 February 2011. It was my 11th birthday. Where the day coincides with the day of love. Mom and Dad are planning to have a birthday party for me. But, I refused it, I don't want a party. I prefer a simple dinner with my extended family. My mother and father agreed to my request.

At night, about seven o'clock. We all gathered at the dinner table. Mom prepared a cake she made herself. Before dinner begins. Father, Mother, Grandma, om Adam, aunt Yuli, Aunt Maya, Om Arman and also my cousins Dea, graceful, Lia, Kikky and Andi, sing a happy birthday song together for me. I feel so happy to be able to celebrate my birthday with the people I love so much.

"Yeaahhh" said everyone after I blew out the candles with a round of applause.

"Happy birthday dear." said Mom, kissing my cheek. So did Dad.

"Happy birthday to Rissa" said my cousin Dea. I smile.

"Happy birthday dear niece, may more beautiful" said Om Adam.

"Hehehe, thank you for being a handsome adam." I said.

"Hahaha." Everyone laughed.

"Happy birthday dear Rissa, may you live a long life, the more pinter the school" said Grandma.

"Amin." said everyone.

"Hehe, thanks grandma." I said.

"Betch, I want tarts to be allowed." said Kikky.

"May, aunt cut it first." said mother.

"I also want a aunt." said Anggun.

"Me too" said Dea.

"I'm aunty." said Andi.

"Lia wants to." said Lia.

"Yes, be patient." said Mom.

"Rissa wants one too?." Mom asked me.

"Yes." I said.

"Nih." said Mother as she handed us a tart.

"Thank you aunt." said Dea. Mom just smiled.

"Rissa." said Anggun while eating.

"Hm." I said.

"I have a gift for you" said Anggun.

"What?" I said. Gracefully stood up from its place and walked over to me.

"This." said Anggun while thrusting a small box.

"What is this, I can open it now" I said. Gracefully nodded. I opened it and it turned out to be a piano-shaped music box.

"Wow, music box, good." I said.

"Do you like it?." asked Anggun. I nodded with a smile. Graceful returned to her seat.

"I also have a gift for you" Andi said. Andi took her card from under the table and gave it to me. The prize from Andi is quite big.

"I can open it." I said.

"May, open it." Andi said.

I opened it too. The gift from Andi was a remote car toy that was a hit at that time.

"Remote car?" said Dea.

"Rissa is An's girl, when she was given a remote car." Dea said again.

"Yes, girls like Barbie dolls, cook it up" said Lia.

"Emang like that?" said Andi.

"I've said it to him, buy a teddy bear pink doll, but he still buy cars for Rissa" said Kikky.

"Try asking Rissa, she likes not a gift from a remote car" said Om Arman.

"Ris, you like my gift." asked Andi.

"This is cool, I like it." I said as I looked at the remote car from earlier.

"Later we race Ris, same Kikky as well" said Andi.

"Let's who's afraid" I said.

"The three of you play cooking, the three of us want to play the race" said Andi.

"Biarin, cool also play cooking" said Dea Kesal.

"Hehe."

"Already let's eat the food will be cold" said Grandma.

That dinner was enough to make me happy on a special day for me and also celebrate Valentine's Day with the people I love.

Tomorrow, as usual, at school. Iqbal picked me up in class. Because of the incident at that time. Every hour Iqbal always comes to class to pick me up. And better yet Kelvin never bothered me. While waiting for Iqbal to come pick me up, I read a storybook that I had not finished.

30 Minutes have passed. However, Iqbal hasn't come to my class yet. I'm worried whether he's in trouble or if he's making new trouble for her. I decided to go to her class. However, up there I saw no one. The other kids are home. I ran to the futsal court hoping Iqbal would be there. Until there the result is nil. Iqbal is not. I don't know where he went. He didn't say anything to me. Has he gone home.

No way! Iqbal left me.

My mind went everywhere. It remembers me to Dicky who suddenly disappeared. I don't want the misunderstanding Dicky had about that time to repeat to Iqbal.

"Iqbal." I shouted while looking for him.

I kept looking for Iqbal all over the school. However, the result is still nil. I feel like crying when I can't find Iqbal.

"Iqbal, are you inside." call me on the boys toilet. I wish Iqbal was inside. Because it's the last place I haven't checked. But Iqbal wasn't there.

"Where are you going?" I said.

"Why did you leave me." I said.

My tears are no longer held. I cried while sitting hugging my knees in front of the boys toilet. I can't believe Iqbal left without seeing me just like Dicky back then.

While I was questioning. Suddenly someone shouted my name. I thought it was a teacher or a school security guard. Apparently not, it's Iqbal.

"Rissa." call Iqbal while running over to me. I hugged him straight away while continuing to criticize.

"Why are you?." asked Iqbal. I didn't answer.

"Why here, I told you to wait in the classroom, did Kelvin bother you again" he said, wiping away my tears. I just shook my head.

"Keep why you cry, someone bothers you, who, tell me" he said.

"You." I said. She's quiet.

"Me?" he said confused.

"Where were you?, I was looking for you everywhere, but you weren't there." I asked with a hiccup.

"I left for a while" he said.

"I thought you left me." I said a hiccup.

"I'm not worried, I said I picked you up in class, I went to your class, you didn't exist" he said. I'm silent.

"I was going to buy cotton candy for you, you like cotton candy, but no, I want a gift for you, yesterday your birthday, yesterday, but I don't love you anything." he said. I just fell silent.

"Since the cotton candy doesn't exist, I bought this for you" he said, handing out a small box that had been neatly wrapped. With a puffy eye. I slowly picked it up and opened the box. The box contained a chain bracelet with ball accents. The bracelet is good, simple, I like it. I know the price of the bracelet is nothing compared to Iqbal's struggle to buy this bracelet. I'm sure Iqbal saved some of his pocket money for this.

"Sorry Ris, I didn't mean for you to cry, I just wanted to give you a surprise" he said. I smile at him.

"You put this bracelet on my hand" I said, extending my left hand to her.

"Here, I wear it" he said. He put that bracelet on me.

"Thank you." I said. She smiled as she wiped away the remaining tears on my cheeks.

"You know, if my mom knew that you were crying because of me, I would have been scolded" he said.

"I don't cry, if you say you want to go, so I'm not confused to find you where" I said.

"Sorry" he said. I smiled while nodding my head.

"Let's go home, we'll be searched" he said. I'm nodding.

Before returning home, Iqbal accompanied me to pick up my bags and books that I accidentally left behind in class. After that, we immediately went home.
