There's Still Time

"Goodbye Stella, I hope you can rest in peace" said Rima then left the ICU room back to her room.

After returning home from the hospital, Rima drove her car to one of the cafes in the middle of the city. For half an hour he waited, but the man he was waiting for did not come.

'Where is the old woman.' muttered Rima.

A smile then fell on his lips as he saw a middle-aged woman enter the cafe in a slight hurry.

"I'm sorry I'm late" said the woman.

"It's okay Aunt Nurma, I haven't been here long either."

"What do you want to talk about...Um.. E.. Rima, that's your name, isn't it Rima?"

"Yes my name is Rima, I want to talk about aunty offer the other day."

"Well, do you want to marry David?"

Rima then smiled and nodded slowly. "Good Rima, that's the answer I want from you because I'm so fed up with that woman."

Rima was so surprised to hear Nurma's words. 'No way, didn't I just hear myself if the electrocardiograph device had sounded indicating that Stella's heart had stopped beating?' rima Gumam.

"Rima, what's wrong with you? Looks like you've misinformed Rima, Stella is alive, she's not dead yet" Nurma said again which made Rima so panicked.

"Aunty really?"

"Of course you're right, try asking one of your office colleagues at the hospital."

"O..Oh yes." answered Rima nervously then pulled out her phone and showed Stella news to Maya, one of the nurses in the ICU room.

'Fuck! Why can this all happen!' rima swear in his heart when reading a reply from Maya about Stella whose condition has improved.

*Flashback*

"NO.. THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE!" david yelled as he grabbed his hair. He then observes Fadli's doctor who is now using a heart shock device to save Stella.

David looked at Stella's body that had been blown away several times with a pushy look and tears constantly running down his face.

"Stella remembers our promise Stella, remember our promise" said David, covering his face in despair, until a voice suddenly startled him.

"Doctor David calms down, Mrs Stella can still be saved" said Dr Fadli, who is next to her.

"Thank you.. Thank you doctor" said David, wiping his tears and then closing in on Stella and kissing her cheek.

"I know you'll survive, baby, I know you'll keep our word, I know you'll be the mother of my children. You know Stella.." said David, stopping his words because a clap hit his shoulder.

"The doctor has something I want to talk about" Fadli said.

"Good." answered David.

"What's Doctor Fadli doing?"

"Look doctor David, indeed for now Mrs Stella can still be saved, but I cannot guarantee how her condition will be."

"That's what I'm thinking about, doctor, hasn't Stella been taking medicine all this time and keeping her food?"

"Of course, he always takes medicine and keeps his food intake."

"But why is this one week of white blood cells soaring?"

"So there's something strange about Stella's condition?"

"Yes, it's likely that Mrs Stella consumed food or other drugs beyond what I gave her."

"Please check Stella's blood, Doctor Fadli, we have to investigate all this."

"Yes doctor David. Then there's another one."

"Before Mrs Stella's health condition gets worse, we have to find a spinal cord donor for her. It's a good time to have Mrs Stella operated on if Dr. David wants Mrs Stella to be completely cured."

David nodded, then looked at Stella who now looked so weak. 'Stella, I will definitely find the donor. I promise I can cure you, ' said David in his heart. Slowly David started to come out of the ICU room to his room.

When he opened the door of his study, David was so surprised to see three people waiting for him in the room.

"You guys?" david asked with a frown.

"David, we went to Stella's room and didn't find you so we came straight here" Revan said with a smile.

"Yes, Stella's condition was very critical and almost lost her life" David said as he glanced at the couple sitting on the sofa.

They approached David. "David, now tell me how Stella is doing?" ask the woman who approached him.

"What do you care about Stella, Mrs Rena and Mr Hilman?"

"David please don't talk like that, after all Stella is our daughter. We love him so much, indeed we have made so many mistakes for always managing his life."

"So you only realized that when Stella almost lost her life?"

"Why didn't you and Stella tell us about her health condition, David?"

"Stella doesn't want you guys to know. Stella's been so tired of following all your desires, she wants to define her own life." David answered.

"That's why we want to pay for all our mistakes" Hilman replied. David then looked at Hilman with a sharp look.

"What do you mean?"

"I'm gonna donate my spinal cord to Stella."

"Aren't you suffering from heart disease? Sorry it's not allowed, you have to be really healthy if you want to donate your organs."

"No David, no, I'm not sick of anything. It was just my excuse that Stella wasn't divorced from Revan" said Hilman, who caused David's emotions to soar.

"Basic brash!" snapped David.

"You guys are so selfish! We even lived such a difficult life because of the selfishness of both of you!" snapped David.

Revan then approaches David and calms him down. "David, David has your emotions under control. The most important thing right now is Stella's safety, it's useless for me to go to New York to pick them up when you're like this."

"So you went to New York, Revan?"

"Yes I went to New York to see Stella's parents to tell her everything we've been through, everything David. Now we still have time to fix all this and save Stella" said Revan, who kept David calm.
