Everyone immediately stopped the pace of their horse legs by pulling the reins as quickly as possible. The heads of the horses were pulled tight, they neighed for a moment.
“What is the enemy?!”
In Algol's ear the Alpha question sounded so enthusiastic. Like waiting for something long enough. He only chuckled knowing that the young man was impatiently waiting for his fight against the ramplite.
“Entah. But he's just watching us. It doesn't seem like something dangerous. We don't have to face—”
Algol's horse suddenly nagged loudly with two front legs jerking the air as a small child ran out of the shadow of the tree abruptly. The little boy spread out his hands with tears.
“Please stop...! Don't go...!” she tried to hold back the crying. He rubbed his eyes with dirty hands. “Please... Help me!” pleaded.
Seeing that the boy had no signs of harming them Algol immediately got off the horse. He approached the girl. But how shocked he was when he realized that under the shadow of a tree lay the corpse of a man. Algol looked at the boy full of suspicion.
“I didn't kill him!” her cries panicked realizing the piercing gaze directed at her. “The ramplites did it. In order to save me, he was killed. I'm alone. And I don't have the strength to protect myself. Hence, I beg of you, help me.”
Algol patted the boy's head at a glance. He approached the dead man. Clothes torn. Wounds filled his body. There were also marks coiling around the neck, possibly causing the man to die, from suffocation. Algol groped the body of the corpse, he found some leaves left behind. The leaves are not like the leaves in general, the green color is too dark, almost black and the texture is strange.
“Seeing from his scar it seems he was attacked by a low-level two-tier ramplite,” Okul said from behind Algol. He received a leaf extended by his captain. “Daun.. ramplite plant type, yes. The scar on his neck must have been the result of the twisting of the plant vine. But this is not a dense forest area where is a superior place for such type of ramplite, he must have died because he was weak.”
“He is not weak at all!” the boy shouted loudly. He looked into Okul's fiery eyes. “We came from the south, he fought to save me from the ramplites alone, and he managed to take me to safety so far. He... he is not weak at all.. he is very strong... he is great...! He is a powerful warrior of noble!”
“Good. He's a strong and noble warrior.” Okul said flat. He is not interested in arguing with a child whose emotions are being shaken. “Tell us why were you attacked?”
“We are a group of traders going from one place to another, our next destination is the Large Magellanic Cloud City, but in the middle of the road there is pulling my feet into the forest. This man is our bodyguard. He asked that our group keep moving because if it stays in place it will only eat a lot of victims. He managed to save me, but he died instead,” he said gloomily as he squeezed the end of his shirt.
He also looked up.
“I can't do anything anymore. You're soldiers of this country, right, please help me bury the body. Then please take me to Large Magellanic Cloud City,” the door is full of hope.
Algol. It faces all its members. “I don't mind taking her to the city, but burying a corpse in the present moment..
Understanding clearly the intent of his captain Diphda lowered his head to align his height with the little girl. “Pardon us, we also have a destination to go to, we can only take you to the city, no more.”
The boy stared in disbelief. He glanced at the corpse of his savior could not bear.
“Do not clear so. It is an unsafe world. Death can happen to anyone anywhere. Even if we bothered to take the time to take care of a single corpse it would still not have any effect on this world. However it is a harsh world, strengthen yourself, do not crybaby.” Okul chided him coldly.
The boy widened his eyes in disbelief. He stared at the disgust of the adults who surrounded him. His eyes grew even more, a smile of disappointment in his tiny dry lips, he then returned sobbing again.
The alpha who caught the pitiful sight before him instantly felt pity. He knew the girl's feelings. Alone and lost hope. He had also felt it when he learned that the entire population of his village had disappeared. However he has Ursa with him, but the little girl is only alone at the moment. Alpha is moved because of this.
“I'll help him. I'll bury the man's body.”
“I also.”
“You two—”
“Burying her won't eat much time, won't take up to an hour, if we will also deliver this girl to Large Magellanic Cloud City what's wrong with burying this corpse for a while? Me and Ursa will do it, you just have to wait.” Alpha insists.
Without waiting for Alpha's approval, he approached the body. Using the power of his light he formed something that could be used to dig and started making holes. Ursa used the flat wood she found and helped out.
The little girl was touched by her second act. He turned to Okul, gave a sharp look of dislike, then followed Alpha and Ursa to join the dig. He was crouching in the middle of the two. Because there is no tool it helps get rid of the soil that accumulates.
“Thank you very much. Unlike them.. you guys are very good,” he said full of appreciation.
“Well, don't think about it. We are also not cruel people,” reply Alpha.
It's getting dark. The sun had completely set, but the remnants of its reddish glow still lit up Alpha and Ursa dug the grave. Once felt enough in Alpha and Ursa raised together the body of the corpse and hoard it.
“Eh?!”
Alpha looked shocked at the sound of the boy behind him. “What's up? Have you forgotten something?”
“Um, no! There ain't! Just continue to bury him! I'm looking for flowers first!” answer's crime.
Instantly he moved away and plucked the wildflowers that grew near the bushes not far from there. His eyes occasionally glanced at Alpha and Ursa. ‘Cannot be! I don't see it wrong, they both have that dagger, they're Guardians! They are indeed Guardians..but why are they with Earth Country warriors? In addition they also do not wear the necklace.. Can they be trusted?’ his inner.
“Hei! We're done burying him!” alpha calls the girl to come closer. The little girl came carrying quite a lot of flowers. “I'll be praying with you.”
“Thank you.”
The three of them squatted around the tomb and began to pray for the corpse. The little girl opened her eyes for the first time. He noticed that Alpha and Ursa were praying seriously. He closed his eyes again, this time talking to Alpha and Ursa.
“Sister, don't be surprised to hear what I'm about to say. Listen and answer like you are praying, because the soldiers are still watching us,” he said. Alpha and Ursa frowned at the request, but they did. Their eyes were still closed with their arms clenched. “You two are Guardians, right?”
“Guardians always carry snapdragon flower-carved daggers with them. I am also a resident of Mayall Village, which is why I know it.”
“You're from Mayall Village?” repeat Alpha can't believe it.
“This dead man was also a Guardian. His dagger was lost against the enemy. While the evidence that shows that he is from Mayall Village I have eliminated.”
Ursa smile. “Good. You act fast. The merchant entourage you talked about earlier.”.
“Yes. They're Mayall Village. We did everything we could to stay alive and avoid the soldiers who were looking for us, including by disguise. But before I say more I want to make sure of one thing,” he said.
Alpha understood the meaning of the little girl, so he immediately gave his answer without being questioned. “We were with them for a reason, but we did not betray the village, let's say this is our undercover mission, just like you guys did,”.
“So, yes...thankfully. I'm relieved. I thought I'd be alone. Thank you for helping me,” he said gratefully.
“We cannot long pretend to pray. Explain more about what you know to us later, yes,” said Ursa softly.
“Ya.”
They soon approached Algol and the others who had been waiting on the horses. Alpha volunteered to take the girl on his horse. The request was not questioned, immediately agreed by Algol.
“You prayed long enough there,” said Kraz who was escorting behind.
“That's because we asked for your forgiveness for your previous abusive behavior,” Alpha replied ketus.
“You also suddenly became familiar with the little girl, Alpha.”
“Because he said I was a good brother compared to you, of course it made me feel moved and so liked him. There's nothing wrong. If you can not get along with this girl then you are the one who is too cold-hearted,” Alpha replied evasively.
Kraz doesn't wonder anymore. They continued the late journey accompanied by the loud thumping of horse legs and the sounds of the night animals. Their purpose changed direction. Without taking a long time they finally reached the southern entrance of the Large Magellanic Cloud City. Soldiers standing guard against them.
“Good night, Warrior. We are the Algol squad from the Milky Way headquarters who are on a mission trip. This city is not our destination, but we found a lost child, his merchant entourage entered this city, he said.”
“Ah! That afternoon a group of traders had indeed entered the city.”
“Then the information is confirmed to be correct. Let us in.”
Seeing Algol's blue badge made them not wonder anymore and immediately gave way. The blue badge was one level above the red badge, it was given to the soldiers who had a high level. The badge showed not their rank, but their strength, which also indicated what dangerous missions the soldier might have undertaken.
Algol led his small entourage to the city's military headquarters. He needed to make a report on his impromptu visit and explain the intent of his arrival because after all he was an uninvited guest. He also requested permission to use one of the rooms in the headquarters to rest.
The little girl tugged on Alpha's sleeve. “Are we not going to find my entourage now? I'm worried if I don't get back to them soon, they'll worry about me a lot, especially my parents.”
Alpha can't answer. He glanced at Algol to get an answer from his captain.
“Diphda. Kraz. You accompany them in search of the boy's entourage.”
“EEh?! Why us? You make us as if their personal bodyguards,” protest the masculine-faced man with his yellow hair does not like.
“It is indeed wrong, Mr. The kraz? You are indeed guards for prisoners like us,” said Ursa, even looks proud of his status.
“Captive?” parrot the little girl.
“It may not look like real, but we are their captives because we are involved in a problem, so we have to keep an eye on it. But that doesn't mean we won't help you find your entourage, Little Brother. So, let's go,” said Ursa full of affection.
“Um, yes!”
Okul whispers when Diphda who was the last person to come out passed him. “Do not take your eyes off the two of them.”
“No will.”

Author Notes :
Hello, readers ^_^
The author eventually included a map of Earthland to support this story. So gini, sorry yes I did not include it yesterday because the map does not exist. Well, sorry also if suppose the map is ugly, because it is only hand drawn and the middle of the malem, so. Please understand yes...
Fun Fact :
outline map above is not original, but inspired from Sundaland map, although not exactly. But if it's an author who made it himself.
- Because the author is not an expert in making maps, information such as forests, rivers, lakes, etc are not author embed. Eits, but calm down. will explain the author in the story for example regarding it, so do not worry.
the names of the places in this story are also taken from astronomical knowledge. Yep, right! These are the names of galaxies.
