Opinions That Make Sense

“Alpha! Ursa!”

Okul breaks down the entrance of a special room given to Algol's squad in order to watch over their two captives. He suddenly threw the two daggers that Joa had just slipped. Because it was too sudden and shocking Alpha and Ursa could not avoid it, the daggers scratched their cheeks before sticking into the bookshelf behind.

The other team members looked at Okul in confusion. The man was indeed someone who was cold, stubborn, and rude, but not the reckless type who attacked suddenly for no apparent reason. For a while they just kept quiet.

“Mr. Okul.... What's up?” ask Ursa politely after missing her surprise.

“You want to kill us, ha!?” Alpha reacts the opposite.

“It should have been done a long time ago,” reply Okul cold. “I warn you at every interrogation session to tell you all the information you have, but why never say anything about the Guardian?”

Alpha and Ursa are out. They look at each other not believing. ‘How Mr. Okul can tell,’ their minds.

“Okul. What about the girl?”

“He managed to escape. But we got information. The girl was indeed a resident of Mayall Village, a friend of theirs,” she said glancing at Alpha and Ursa. “He said that Alpha and Ursa were important people for their village. He also mentioned something about the Guardian. So...” Okul approached facing Alpha and Ursa, “what does this Guardian mean?”

“Err..

“Do not make it up. The girl said something about the Guardian candidate has been moving since five years ago, she just told me that, meaning you guys are the ones who will answer my questions.”

‘Joa..!’ alpha in the Heart.

Ursa patted a friend's shoulder since childhood. He nodded, stating that unmasking them was no big deal. Thanks to their close relationship Alpha knows that Ursa's gaze implies handing the matter over to him and asking him to agree.

“Alright,” says Alpha in the end.

Ursa smiled full of relief because Alpha was not stubborn. He pulled out a chair and sat behind the table. The action was followed by everyone, which indicated that their discussion this time would be long enough.

“Because Joa told you about that then we will reveal that we are also Guardian candidates, just like Joa. The Guardian are talented people chosen to protect our village. His mission was to find out who could potentially be our enemy and eliminate him before they approached our village. In other words is to take precautions.”

“For?”

“For something protected by our village,” replied Ursa to Diphda's question. “Alpha, do you remember my grandmother?”

“Yes. He died when you were seven.”

“My grandmother was among the first people to join Mayall Village, she was also a friend of the Village Founder. Grandma once told me what the Village Founder said. He said that our village is blessed to have an abundance of natural light that is far better than anywhere else on Earthland.

Fertile soils, clean and soothing air, fresh water that never ceases to flow, and also abundant high-quality light stones are proof of that. All of this is in our village because our village is blessed with many natural lights by the Stars. That was what the Village Founder said.

But what caused the Stars to bless our village I don't know, but I'm sure a reasonable reason lies behind it, but only known to a handful of people. And this is what makes us all live a comfortable and peaceful life in Mayall Village.

That is why, in order to return the goodwill that this something brought to the village people began to willingly present themselves as his protector, then formed the Guardian of our village. The task of the Guardian remains the same, but over time people assume the Guardian is the protector of the village as a whole.” Ursa let out a long sigh ending her explanation. “That's everything I know.”

“The enemies you said were the ramplites, right. They always go after your village?” ask Kraz.

“Yes. It can be said that in addition to bringing blessings of natural light that benefit something owned by our village also attract the attention of the ramplites,” replied Ursa.

Ursa then continued again. “I thought something that the camplite incar was on our village land, but after finding out that they did not take over the village we left behind made me think that something might just be someone.”

“Someone... why did you conclude so?”

“Not from anywhere. Just a perfunctory assumption that popped into my head,” he replied calmly.

“Ursa.”

The young man with dark brown eyes gasped in shock. He smiled when he realized he had not answered Okul's question before the Alpha protest.

“Sorry, Vice-Captain Okul, I'll answer you soon.” Ursa cleared her throat before returning to voice. “Ramplites are after perfection all this time, then I don't think it's strange if they want the same thing this time. And the only thing capable of giving perfection to the ramplites was the blood of a star man.

This further leads my opinion that what they are after from our village is someone who can provide perfection easily. The worst possibility was if one turned out to have a technique capable of turning a ramplite into a perfect being. If that's true then the ramplites will want someone very much, if they get it then we all know what bad events might happen. It is a massive war between humans and the ramplites to determine who will dominate whom.”

Everyone sitting at the table agreed with Ursa. The young man was an intelligent and meticulous person, his words were not a perfunctory essay based on mere imagination, everything made sense. Thinking of war could have happened made my feathers sit them up. As warriors they knew very well what ramplite was like, they had bad qualities accumulated within them, and although they were not perfect beings their strength was formidable. So if the ramplites reach perfect perfection then surely defeat is on the side of humans. That cannot be allowed.

The stiff atmosphere there made Ursa clumsy. He took a long breath. Then by breaking the table suddenly and startling them all he gave an announcement.

“Hey, hey, don't take it too seriously! It's all just a theory from me. After all there is no one who looks to have such amazing power in our village, right, Alpha?”

“Oh. If you remember it again, there is no. Except for the Guardian and the village security soldiers the entire population was just ordinary people who wanted to live peacefully every day. They are just farmers, ranchers and regular miners.”

“Nah, right? Even if there was someone like that in our village he would be very famous and have a great history. But there is nothing like that in our village,” continued Ursa still trying to calm the tension he made himself.

Algol stroked his beardless chin. He suddenly thought of something after hearing Ursa's words. “Speaking about great history, aren't there really some amazing celestial objects that fell to Earthland many years ago?”

“Because you reminded him again, Captain, I remembered him,” sergeant Diphda.

“The sky object..the word appears because the people of the past did not know that what they witnessed falling from the sky were the residents of the Upper World who fell into the Underworld. If they managed to survive then they return to being humans who have the power of light, that is the origin of star humans. But if they fail they will die and their power of light becomes a blessing to the surrounding nature.

Many years ago, there were two amazing celestial bodies that fell to Earthland. The celestial object was different from the ordinary celestial object because the light it emitted was not just one, but very many. Then not long after that fell a similar celestial object, only one, but not long later fell again two equally amazing celestial objects.

That's an old story. But strangely enough, the celestial bodies were never known to exist until now, whether they survived and lived as star humans or whether they died and merged with nature. Unfortunately those soldiers who find out about them never find anything.”

Okul tapped his finger on the table.

“I once read in an old book that star humans who have a lot of light power are those who have a high position in the Upper World. They also very likely have amazing techniques. If it turns out that they are still alive and one of them has the technique of perfecting the ramplite, then it is not impossible that the star man is in Mayall Village so as to explain that the village was attacked.” Okul ends his long story with a sharp gaze straight at Alpha and Ursa.

Algol turned to the two young men there. “Alpha. Ursas. Is there—”

“I'm sure there's no one like that. Absolutely sure.” Alpha says it without the slightest hesitation. Ursa agreed. "Don't suspect me of lying because I'm telling the truth" he added.

Algol nodded in understanding. “Good. We will keep this discussion as a theory. But do not forget it, because it is precisely this theory that makes the most sense.”

“Good, Sir!”

Author Notes :

Hi readers! Thank you so much for taking the time to read my work. This is my first work in Noveltoon, so there may still be many shortcomings, so it is expected that the response from the readers all in the form of comments, criticisms, and suggestions.

Perhaps the reader is already aware of this, but I will still reveal, hehe. The idea of this story came to mind when I remembered the scene of a meteor falling in the Kimi no Nawa anime and thought how it would be if the meteor that fell to the earth was not just an ordinary meteorite but a human who had the power super and.. tadaaa! be this story.

This work is new, please support it. Thank you very much.
